Name: Lives-in-Ewer; goes by Ewer; isn't offended by 'that wierd slime thing'
Race: Human...ish?
Class: Oozemorph Shifter
Blurb: Once pure human, tampering into druidic magics she embarked down the slippery slope of tapping into the shapes of the natural worlds... less solid inhabitants. Unfortunately said magic is tricky to master and it came at the cost of her default form, having been reduced to a light teal colored slime in the vague shape of a woman. Still her control over the druidic magic that powers her allows her to morph her body and even return to her original, or even new shapes; albeit for a limited amount of time. She owns a mule and cart, and tends to live in a large stone pouring jar when in public to avoid causing panic whine she can't assume human form.
Sounds fun, I love me some gothic dungeon diving (It's usually literal in those kinds of games!)
Was thinking coming at you with a Human Shifter. Torn between the fun uniqueness of Oozemorph (Though its not exactly what I'd call top tier), the fitting Weretouched, or that new Adaptive Archetype that looks enjoyable in it's own right.
Honestly, Riddleport humans probably wouldn't know the difference between duergar and normal dwarves. Only the other dwarves would notice. As for the trait, I'd allow Spot to be replaced by Disguise.
That's probably right, though much of the forges including the big ass gas-forge that smelts adamantine would know and might reject him service for it... unless they think of him as reaaaaalllly dirty XD
@Dripping Shapeshifter: All you really need to know can be found in the free Player's Guide found on this site. Also, there is a wiki for Pathfinder that contains info on nations, gods, etc.
Still pouring over the Second Darkness Players hand book but I seem to have absorbed some of the more important parts, heading to the wiki to read up on the country and some local gods in detail now.
I know nothing of this Adventure path, and am accustomed to homebrew games pretty much exclusively, however I've been itching for some Pathfinder recently and thought I'd throw my hat in the ring with some of the new options added in Ultimate wilderness. Reading through the Player companion for Second darkness now, thought I'll be lookign over it a lot before final character creation for sure!
Reading about going to some underground continent makes me want to create a NG Skinwalker (Werebat) Shifter (Weretouched). I've got a good deal of backstory being worked up obviously, a possibly town she hailed from, who her family are, personality traits and goals, major themes of trying to both fit in to the world and fight forms of bigotry for what she is ("No I am not a Vampire, yes I like the taste of animal blood, No I can not make you a werebeast, yes I can shape-shift to a partial animal, what are you not getting here!?"), but I suppose I need ot ask how much knowledge of the core pathfinder setting is mandatory to know before jumping into an AP?
'Demigods mucking about in an ap' Say no more fam! =P No but I'll start working on a sheet, Shape-shifting slime monster hooo (Thanks PF for recently adding a perfect class/arch type to replicate it! Trying to play an awakened ooze druid was always wonky rules wise.)
Well, if hard limits are what is desired let's say no more than a CR 30 monster or character at the upper limit and CR 6 at the lower limit.
Third party content is allowed as well as homebrew monsters and characters with the caveat that you either provide explanations of the abilities within your character sheet or links to the content in your character sheet so I have ease of reference during the game and don't have to go digging to figure out or remember the specific limits of your powers.
...that... might be the weirdest wonkiest most unbalanced character creation rules I've ever seen... ever. A-are you sure your gonna let players basically make max level characters with zero drawbacks right form the get go? Like I mean, I can see letting players use the race builder to make their own race for soemthign weird like a dragon or other kind of monster but giving us a cr range is kinda strange indeed.
I enjoy the idea, a lot of freedom, thought seeing as your talking about 'Our' personal desires I already know what I have to play, nice and locked down pat. So yeah greatly expressing interest for this type of campaign especially one where it seems like you don't have any hard story down thus players being characters instead of wandering murder hobos seems to be more the theme.
OOOO~ Glad you are closing it so soon, leaves you with about 10 people to choose from. I've seen gm's wait until they had 30 some applicants before closing. I can't imagine it would be fun to choose form so many ever. One second, actually need to put the crunch onto my profile.
@ GM Sanya I don't plan to argue for it, It was a silly sorta spell I felt could be fun and effective, but both required your permission and slight alteration. You said no so I'm fine with no, there are still other spells I can take just fine~
I know this is gonna be a silly train of though, but can I take the Iron beard spell, and have it apply to hair instead? Because that just adds fun flair to my spell list (Which I wont get until a little ways into the game anyways) It's normally a dwarf spell, but It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to have notices dwarfs growing metal and gold in their beards and coming up with a similar tactic with her hair through the use of her newly discovered magic. =P~ Plus the concept that I could take my hair and turn it into Metal back spikes is pretty funny in it's own right. And you did say you where looking for interesting characters over Min/Max
What about telling us a bit about life inside the city? Wana write up a back-story that fits the city, but still know next to nothing about it; on the bright side Kalia Ironhand, Descendent of Salamanders; has her appearance finished off. Moved away from the traditional 'Genie' ancestry.
This looks highly interesting. If I make up any character I'm bringing my Ifirit Oracle of Metal 'Magic Blacksmith' Ideal if possible, because it was both a fun concept, and fun in playing~ Which works even without the need for weapons now that I think about it. Every city needs spoons XP
