Paizo, I was reading up on alchemist discoveries (helping my son w/his character) when I noticed something odd. It states "Those caught in the splash damage can attempt a Reflex save for half damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the alchemist's level + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier." Now here's the question; does someone who takes a direct hit NOT get a save for half damage? Is it just those caught in the splash zone? It doesn't actually reference any saves for a direct hit, so I need some clarification. Thanks. DogBone
Paizo, OK, we had an encounter with orcs fleeing their destruction, and one character has wings with a fly speed of 60 feet. He chased down 2 orcs, running in opposite directions, within a few rounds, all using the run action with his fight. that's 240 feet in one round!?!? This question has been asked, but no one has given an official, concrete answer: can someone with a natural fly speed use the run action? Swimming can, climbing can, but nothing is said about flight. Let's face it: his movement was d%*m close to teleportation. So please someone at Paizo, can we get an official answer on this? Thank you. DogBone
Hey everyone, Does anyone know if a gaze attack can effect someone using a clairvoyance effect? The PRD for both clairvoyance and monster gaze attacks don't address the situation. Please let me know as this came up in a discussion during a game and no one (DM included) could figure out the answer. Thanks DogBone
Paizo, It has now been two weeks since my last order, #1731604, was shipped, and I have not received it. I did recently move to a new apartment and maybe this threw off the delivery. My new address has been updated so everything should be OK now. I would really like to get my order please. Thank you. DogBone
Are there any plans to have any upcoming APs take place within the borders of Varisia? I enjoyed the "frontier-esque" feel of the locale and was curious if any adventures would return to it. There are 6 other runelords to worry about... Not that that has to be the focal point of a new adventure path. Just wondering what direction the new paths are taking. DogBone
A question came up during the campaign I run last night...how often does sneak attack damage get applied to a rogue's attacks? Example: If a rogue feints his opponent, and then hits him, sneak attack applies, but if he is two-weapon fighting, and hits with both attacks, does sneak attack damage apply for EACH ATTACK? Personally, I said S.A.D. is applied once per round, not per attack, but I would like official clarification to supress a pesky rules laywering player I got. Thanks in advance. DogBone
Paizo, I recently placed an order with you, part of which included one copy of both the Critical Hit Deck and the Critical Fumble Deck. I received the shipment yesterday (9/28/10) and I found that I had 2 copies of the Critical Fumble Deck and zero copies of the Critical Hit Deck?!? I assume someone at the wharehouse made a simple mistake as the packaging for both products looks very similar (I myself didn't notice, until my son pointed it out). So, since I wanted a Critical Hit Deck to go along with my Critical Fumble Deck, and I did order a Critical Hit Deck, I would like my Critical Hit Deck shipped to me as soon as possible, if possible. Thank you. DogBone89
This question arose during a recent game session: Can a construct be petrified? As per the PF SRD: Construct Traits (Ex) Constructs are immune to death effects, disease, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep, stun, and any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless). Constructs are not subject to nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. Constructs are not at risk of death from massive damage. Now, according to the italicized text, it would suggest that a construct would NOT be subject to petrification. But it isn't completely clear. Anyone care to elaborate? Thanks in advance. DogBone

Hello, can anyone answer?
I am about to begin a Legacy of Fire campaign. I'll be upgrading everything to PF rules. However... This is the first game I've run in quite a while. And the first actually using Pathfinder (I've played PF, just not run it before). Anyone got any tips, suggestions, or ideas that could help make the transition smoother? They'd be a big help. Thanks is advance. DogBone
I recently started a campaign playing an oracle, to try something new. I have the Stone Mystery and at 1st level have the rock throwing revelation. Now, in the description it says "You can hurl rocks up to two categories smaller than your own size. The range increment for a rock is 20 feet, and you can hurl it up to 5 range increments. Damage for a hurled rock is 2d4 for a Medium creature or 2d3 for a Small creature, plus 1-1/2 your Strength bonus." The DM seems to think that means all these rocks have to be (playing human=medium size-2 categories) Tiny-sized rocks, akin the the size of a bowling ball. I believe this is just the maximum size rock I can throw, but can throw smaller rocks with the same effect. Which is correct? Although I can kind of see the DM's point: I threw a rock at an enemy bard, hit for max damage which, at 1st level, instantly decapitated her. Hard to see a tiny pebble doing all that. DogBone
Recently, while in a game, a question was raised about the Elemental Ray ability for sorcerers with the elemental bloodline (and I suppose all similar abilities). In the text it says "This ray deals 1d6 points of damage of your energy type +1 for every two sorcerer levels you possess." Now, for a 5th level sorcerer, I understand that to mean he would do 1d6+2 points of damage (1d6 original, 2 for (5/2=2) levels). Others in the party seem that think it should be 3d6 (1d6 original, 2d6 for (5/2=2) levels). So which is it; +1 point per two levels or +1d6 points per two levels? DogBone
Paizo, Sadly, I have not received my most recent Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription, which included both issues #24 and #26. I spoke with my local post office and they have no record of the package. They did say that, if you could give me the article number of the shipment, I could contact their customer service department and they might be able to track the package down.

Dear Paizo, I'm sure things are quite hectic right now with the release of PFRPG, but I have a small issue I need to let you know about. I have not received the last two (2) shipments of my Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription.

On 4/3/09 I was charged my monthly subscription fee for my Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription. This posted to my account on 4/6/09. Now, 3 days later, Paizo is assessing another subscription fee to my account?!? What is this for? I should already be up-to-date. Unless you're charging me for my next issue, which isn't due until May.

Paizo, Sorry to have to report this, but I think customs may have been rougher with this product shipment than necessary. I received my PF #14 earlier this week and noticed that the binding was damaged. It wasn't too bad at first, but the pages have begun to pull away from the binding and are starting to fall out of the book. If at all possible, I'd like to get a replacement, and it could be shipped with PF #15 to save on costs. Thank you for listening. DogBone
I have a question concerning the new spells that replace the old Polymorph spell: do size modifiers count? Example: Say a wizard uses Beast Shape II to assume the form of a Tiny animal. Would he receive a +2 size bonus to his attack roles and AC, in addition to the modifiers listed in the spell description? I've read through the Beta PFRPG numerous times and it never really says whether or not size mods apply to shapeshifting. It might be a good idea to address this, either by clearly stating that size modifiers do (or do not) count, or, for the sake of clarity, just include the size modifiers in each spell's description. Thank you. DogBone
I noticed something odd. At the end of Part 3, on page 40, under the section entitled "Incriminating Evidence", it says just possessing the deed to the Gold Goblin makes the PCs the owners of the establishment. It then says to read the "Concluding the Adventure" section to see just what that entails.
Spoiler:
The "Concluding the Adventure" section is just a long detailed description of what happens before, during, and immediately after the meteor strike that was called down by the drow. It doesn't even hint at what the PCs have to look forward to as new business owners. Did someone forget to write that piece, or was it omitted for the sake of space? Just curious. Plus, if you could give us the details, that'd be super. DogBone P.S. Why isn't the name of the gambling house the Golden Goblin? That just sounds better, doesn't it?
Paizo, I am writing to let you know about the condition of the books I received in my last order. I noticed that, when I opened my package, there was some damage to both of the books cantained within (The Pathfinder RPG beta and the Pathfinder Campaign Setting). Both had covers that were crumpled a bit, which for the hardbound Campaign setting book is significant, plus some of this "crumpling" also carries through to the pages inside. Now, in truth, neither book is so damaged that it can't be used. I do generally like all the books I buy to be in pristine condition, but I can live with these books as is. I simply wanted to let you know that, somewhere along the line, your products were not handled with the upmost care. Someone more particular might have a greater issue with this than me.
DogBone P.S. As for the content of the books, it is first-rate. The Campaign book is probably the best, most detailed and well thought-out "source material" type books I've ever read. Quality is top-knotch. Please, keep it up.
I got a question: according to the old rules, a DC 15 Jump check can reduce the damage from a fall by one die (effectively shortening the distance fallen by 10 feet). A DC 15 Tumble check can do the same thing. Now, since both of these skills a apart of the new Acrobatics skill, can one use Acrobatics to shorten a fall by 20 feet? And what would the DC for that be? DogBone
OK, I'm not sure if this worked, so I'll try it again... Hooray! My first thread (Sorry, Noob moment over). As an offshoot of the "Personal Theme Music" thread, what is the creepiest and/or scariest theme music you guys and gals have ever heard? Personally, I have two: the theme from Halloween and the theme from John Carpenter's The Thing. What's yours? DogBone P.S. Also, one other that I have is one I can't name. I've been looking for the title and composer so I can but the song off of iTunes, but no one seems to know it. So if anyone does, please let me know. The music doesn't start until about :45 seconds in, but it's heard on the soundtrack to the movie Sunshine. Anyone know what this music is? I especially love the violin work in the piece; gives the whole thing a very haunting sound.
Paizo, I recently renewed my Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription. I also added a couple other products to the order. I have yet received these in the mail. Now, I realize that not all of the hard copies are available just yet (I think the Pathfinder Gazetteer is the hold-up), however, I haven't yet been able to download the PDF for PF #8. I believe I get the PDF version as well as the print version with my subscription, yes? So, my ultimate question is, why the hold-up with the PDF? Gary W. Hoff
I recently downloaded the rpgXplorer downloads for the RoftRL series. All three (the Player's Guide, Burnt Offerings, and Skinsaw Murders) don't seem to be working. I unzipped all the files, as per the instructions, but when I run the application, I just get a large listing of XML files in my web browser. No web page, no pictures, no details; just a large list of coomand prompts. I checked my browser (IE 7) and I don't see any problems. Can you help me? DogBone
I have waited, patiently, for a month, 2/20 to 3/20, and I still haven't received Dungeon #145. This is becoming quite a bad habit. I sent an e-mail to customer.service@paizo.com, but still, no word. Can a replacement copy please be sent. I will also check with my local Post Office to see if there is anything going on on there end. Thanks. DogBone
Paizo, A couple of weeks ago, I posted the fact that I had not received Dungeon issue 137, and asked if it was running late. I have recently received Dungeon #138 in the mail, but still have not received #137!! In addition, I placed an order, number 653624, which was shipped 10 days ago. I still haven't received it. What I'm asking is: 1) Can I get a copy of Dungeon issue 137, and 2) Is there a way to track my order 653624 to see if it's still in transit, or if it has been lost? Thaks
Paizo, Two weeks ago, I placed an order with your online store. I have yet to receive my order, and have noticed that one of my items is still "Waiting for Product". In the last two weeks, three of the five different items have been listed as "Waiting for Product". I am beginning to wonder what the hang up is, and how much long it will be until I receive my order? DogBone
About 3 weeks ago, I used Paizo.com's online system to renew my subscription of Dungeon Adventures magazine for another year. I have noticed that the money has already been charged to my credit card as of 5/23. However, your website still says I only have 4 remaining issues of Dungeon left?!? I hope this is merely a simple oversight that is easily corrected.
