Just a heads up gang that myself and my better half are heading over to UAE tomorrow for 3 weeks. My sister in law graciously paid for the ticket to allow us some time to relax, process the loss of our beloved boy and maybe heal a little.

I anticipate that by the weekend (and the weeks to come) I'll have plenty of time to post, but first few days I'll likely be off the grid as we catch up and fall into a routine.

If you could bot Dekamund as/where necessary and I'll endeavour to get my head back in the game (literally) come time. Have PM'd GM and we may have Dekamund work in the background for the time being.

Appreciate the patience and understanding shown by you all - its hardly been the most auspicious beginning for my PC!

Ditto - am still up and down in RL. Games like this one that require some thought before posting are proving a challenge - apologies.

@Davina: Little Tootsie is absolutely stunning. My boy Darby was a big red and the sweetest most devoted boy. Had a terrible start to life (4 homes) before the stars aligned and we became a family. He leaves a huge hole in our lives and hearts, but I take heart that we'll heal and perhaps one day give another rescue pupper a home.

Folks - just wanted to share that yesterday we had to say goodbye to my beautiful red staffy Darby. His passing was very peaceful and he's now free from the burdens his tumour inflicted upon him.

To say my wife and i are broken is an understatement - Darbs was, is and always will be, the epicentre of our lives.

Over the coming days, weeks and months we will heal and come to celebrate his life, but right now things are pretty raw. I may throw myself into distractions and my passions, so posting may be up, but likewise things may take a back seat - should that become the case please bot me when/where necessary.

Prior to enacting the plan...

Dekamund nods at Falina's question;

"I do indeed have some skill in sniffing out lies and falsehoods Mistress... Honed in the barbershoppe as I listen to men boast and bluster."

Meeting the Ravens

Dekumund accepts Arani's hand and reciprocates with a hand-kiss;

"Peace, Love, Health, and Life to you too Mistress Thorn. I have heard great things indeed..."

He smiles, then replies to Dom;

"Alas parlour tricks are not my forte... More maintaining the illusion of arcane abilities... This mummery helps to disguise my faith and the powers it bestows me..."

As talk turns to the Tian woman and her quest(ions) regarding the Vashnarstill twins, Jessibel and Leora, the half-elven dandy pauses in thought;

"Jessibel Aulamaxa... a young noblewoman and fledgling bard of some talent I believe? Your other friend Leora Scileana's name is also familiar... she was for all in tense and purposes an alchemist yes? As I mentioned my Argent Ravens, it is my business to be informed, and whilst your enemies would seek to gather such facts about you all, know too those who would call you allies do the same..."

Dekamund chuckles softly with a theatrical at Falina statementshe may be of use;

"A most appreciated accreditation Mistress Falina. I do indeed have my uses. Given the choice, assisting in engaging our curious Tian in conversation would be my preferred role in this play... I have had quite enough exercise for one day!"

Dekamund pauses, listening to the burly half-orc with a serene expression;

"My faith does work for me Master Domitius, as it does for many in our besieged city... Yet who am I to sermonise - a humble barber and layman prestidigitator? Matters theological should be left to priests and zealots should they not?"

The half-elf smiles as discreetly daubles neck and wrist with a small vial of liquid; which quickly reaches your senses as a fragrant perfume of rose-water.

"As to how I ended up here... today... I shall spare you all the full details - just know that you Ravens do not rail against our Thrune opposers alone. Nor do you have a monopoly on the commerce of information concerning that struggle. I make it my business to know, to learn matters of consequence. Today was no exception. The information I... solicited warranted action. So here we are..."

He collects his thoughts, eyes flitting across the countenance of each of you as he sips from his cup of wine.

Apologies on the wait one and all :)

Your mysterious ally first bows, before speaking in a soft, yet eloquent tone;

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my most consummate pleasure to make your collective acquaintance, and provide aid in stymieing the tyrannical ambush. Tsk-tsk. I forget my manners..."

He reaches for hood, pausing only to incant a spell;

"One moment please. A wise man once said One should always best present themselves upon making introductions... This is no exception: Prestidigo!"

Pulling back his cloaked head, your ally is revealed to be a soft look half-elf with the make up and wig more befitting a dandy at court than an ally against Thrune oppression.

He then bows flamboyantly, before introducing himself in the same articulate fashion:

"Dekamund Boscobel at your service Silver Ravens... As to why I helped you Master Domitius? Well we fight for the same things do we not? The enemy of my enemy and such-like... Let us just say I have an affinity for Roses that grow in fair Kintargo as much as Corvids with Argent feathers yes?"

@GM Silver: Dekamund channelled 6 HP of healing last round - not sure you've factored it into the HP totals? (noticed Dekamund as still 7/23)

Faced with a lone thug Dekamund takes a less subtle approach than he would typically and brings his morning star to bear;

A still wounded Dekamund moves closer to Falina, giving the sorceress a pained nod before once again calling upon his healing powers;

5ft Step & Standard Action: 30ft Radius - Selective Channel Energy (Include self & exclude Dottori and CCG): 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Dekamund reels as he is assailed by the blades of the dottari and thug...

Clutching the rose shaped clasp of his cloak, the priest-in-mage's clothing calls upon the healing powers of his faith:

Infernal brute squad be damned! May my blood not be shed in vain this day!

He then shifts toward the approaching Falina (5ft Step)

ROUND 1

As the thunderous trigger is released and flare and haze of the smokestick ignitions fill the gate, Dekumund smiles from beneath his hood.

The half-elf casts a baleful look toward dottari archer before him, his hands moving in what appears to be arcane gesticulations;

"Captis Umbral!"

Casting Defensively DC17: 1d20 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 3 = 20

Dekamund casting Shadow Trap on deafened archer. (Standard Action). DC14 Will Save or her shadow is pinned and she is entangled (and unable to move further than 5ft) for 4 round

Upon casting his spell, regardless of his success he advances upon the archer, pulling forth a finely crafted morningstar as he goes... 5ft Step & Draw Weapon (Move Action)

Appreciate the thoughts and condolences all - my employer is letting me work from home while we spend our precious days with our precious boy.

Means I'll have a little more opportunity to post than I thought.

With GM Silver's approval I've swapped out the Apprentice's Cheating Gloves for the equally apt Cloak of the Hedge Wizard (Illusion). Latter is slightly more expensive but offers Dekamund more options to cover his charade as a wizard.

Trusting that this is acceptable I'll get a game post up shortly.
