You can Earn Income (page 236) using Diplomacy, spending your days hunting for bargains and reselling at a profit. You can also spend time specifically sniffing out a great bargain on an item; this works as if you were using Earn Income with Diplomacy, except instead of gaining money, you purchase the item at a discount equal to the money you would have gained, gaining the item for free if your earned income equals or exceeds its cost. Finally, if you select Bargain Hunter during character creation at 1st level, you start play with an additional 2 gp.

How many NPCs remain to get out? Five, is that correct?
(1) Isn't Garrla a guard? Can she just go out as a guard? If not, can't we make use of her uniform? Presumably, she has more than one; I can't think of any guards, IRL, who have merely a single uniform. If either Garrla or someone else can get through as a guard, that leaves four (or less if we can use multiple uniforms).
(2) Gita and Jeeves are right. Using Ellvard's history as a lever might be useful.
(3) Hiding 2 people in 2 empty barrels leaves only two more people to get through.

I don't understand the scene here. Maybe it's moot. But, scenario success obviously hinges on social interactions with NPCs; so, I'd like to have a better handle on what's going on.

I am willing to spend as much time on this as is required. Healing is what my character cares most about.
If this needs to be a secret check, my bonus is +6 for medicine or +7 with tools. I am willing to spend a hero point if the secret check is low. Not sure what your SOP is for hero points and secret checks.

Speaking with a clear voice (to avoid startling anyone who might be nearby and unseen), Dar will say: "You poor mules! Here, have some water."
If there's no water conveniently nearby, the sorcerer will use his water skin to start watering the mules. I presume that, with a medicine check, we'd know that the mules can't have been 'unwatered' for too long; else, they'd be dead. If there is ample time and opportunity, Dar will try to find feed for the mules, too. But the mission has priority.

I have one glyph, in theory. But, it's from a convention, and I don't think all the tables have been reported. Your call whether or not you want to count it. :) I'm not terribly invested either way.
If you allow the glyph, then I'll have two hero points to hand out. The coin allows me to hand one out ad hoc. I prefer to save that one to prevent PC deaths.
