I thought as far as I use Mountain Stance monk's attacks have those traits: Forceful, Nonlethal, Unarmed. But you sounds reasonable. I will try to clarify this moment.

Falling Stone strikes are not agile. If you look at the table in the monk entry it specifies which traits the different strikes have. Most are agile, falling stone is not.

If Harsk continued using his war axe, he would have gotten an extra +1 (from Inspire Courage) plus a bonus d8 damage die (from Magic Weapon). Even if he switched weapons (not sure why), damage would still be at +1.

Players...don't forget your bonuses. Everyone is still at +1 attack and +1 damage, due to Inspire Courage.

Jeeves sees poor K'Anubis still in pain, even with Gita doing her best. In an attempt to offer additional healing to K'Anubis, Jeeves plays his lyre and chants:

Jeeves brings some relief to K'Anubis's scorched nether regions.

Baralbus rolls his ball of fire into Harsk who easily leaps over it! Growling he sends electrical energy striking at Harsk and Beckett. Harsk takes it full in the face but Beckett manages to duck away just in time.

Harsk saves against the flaming sphere and fails against electric arc (but not critically). Harsk takes 11 damage, Beckett passes taking 5

"Die already you bastard!" screams Beckett as he sends a bolt of pure force rocketing at Barallbus.

As the spell leaps from his hands, Beckett mumbles an arcane incantation and gathers some of the force into a shield as he moves out of the line of fire.

With Inspire Courage dissipating, he comes up with a new composition to continue the inspiration. As he's strumming, he includes a flourish to extend the effects.

"Our damage? It's less than expected.

Jeeves performed a deed that K'Anubis just plans to. And made it efficient, with rhyme and great power.
Still, the dwarf plans to push more cargo down at the foe... A few moments later.

GM, should I roll for athletics to push crates down to harm Barallbus (like CMB) ? Or will it be improvised attack? It gonna be relevant if the enemy is still conscious..


I would treat it as an improved attack however...

Jeeves picks up a piece of crate with his mind and hurls it at the man. Even screened as he is by Harsk the lump of wood smashes Baralbus in the side of the head with a sickening crunch. He crumples to the ground, and lies ominously still.

Beckett runs over and shuts the door they entered through.

"Hide the bodies in case any guards come snooping around. We aren't supposed to draw our weapons much less use them on Thassilonian citizens. We should probably try and lay as low as possible until Themolin arrives."

K'Anubis quickly approach to Barallbus, loot home quickly and drag him out of possible observation.
He suggests that party clean tracks, grab the client and wait for a while, being ready for more troubles... And to run. So, Beckets plan sounds good.

"Whew. That could have gone better. Is everyone okay?"

As K'Anubis and Beckett are moving and searching bodies, Jeeves hears grunting further in the warehouse. He approaches the sound carefully, staying close to stacked boxes for possible cover.


K'Anubis rifles through the pockets of the dead would be assassins. Baralbus has a spellbook, a potion bottle, some writing equipment and other assorted bits and pieces you might expect a low level ministry official to have. The thugs carry rapiers and shortbows but not much else of interest.

Creeping along through the stuffy warehouse towards the odd noise Jeeves comes across your contact, Themolin. He is tied to a chair, has a hood tied around his head, is gagged and has clearly been beaten.

Jeeves removes Themolin's gag, and starts untying the hood. "It's us. We met earlier. From the department of transportation. We're here to help. Oh, and Barallbus won't be bothering you anymore." When he gets him free, "Are you okay? What happened?"

As the gag and hood are removed Themolin shakes his head and stares wildly about. Oh thank the Gods, its you lot. Baralbus has gone mad, he accused me of Treason, I mean, technically what we are doing is sort of treason but not a really serious one. He was going to turn me over to the authorities. MEEEE!

He struggles out of his bonds and looks wildly around. He groans as he sees the bodies and the blood and heads off into a corner to be quietly sick. Recovering himself a little he wipes off his mouth and looks around nervously.

So, what is the plan, how are we going to get away from all of THIS! he says, gesticulating about.

Jeeves attempts to calm him down. "Relax Master Themolin. We have a boat arriving in 2 days. But you need to help us. We're gathering information on a gentleman named Ellvard. We noticed a file on your desk. What can you tell us about him?" After a short pause, he adds, "And please consider that we just saved your life."

K'Anubis found a potion but no-one has as yet identified it. I will take a religion, occulltism or arcana check to identify it.

I have found some things upon Barallbus. Here, take a look. K'Anubis come to see closer their client.

Mister Temolin, we are eagerly want to collaborate and aid personally to come out of this nasty situation. As my colleague said, transport willarrive soon. But we still need your cooperation and knowledge...


Themolin takes several deep breaths, slowly regaining his compsure.

A boat you say, two days, excellent. Where does it leave from?

At the mention of Ellvard he says, Aah, yes, a guard, we were looking into some suspicious activities of his. I had an affadvit about a possible fraud he tried to perpetrate on the Runelord. Dangerous stuff. I am afraid I no longer have access to it, I passed it on up to my superior.

He moves off slightly to here he cannot see the bodies. As for payment, it is all here in some of these crates. He points out several small crates which hold some expensive looking pieces of artwork. That should all be in order I think.

Err, I have no idea, I wouldn't recommend asking awkward questions about the Emerald Guard but its your life.

At the mention of sewers he goes very pale, Sewers, we are going through the sewers. But, but, they ae full of rates, he turns and shudders, dry heaving. He clutches at his chest, Oh gods, oh gods, he starts breathing deeply, I can do this, he doesn't sound very cure, I can do this he says slumping down into a chair.

Composing himself he says, Yes, yes, I will stay here and meet you at the Inn tomorrow?

Jeeves reassures Themolin, "Do not worry, good Sir. We don't plan to take you through the sewers. If you plan to meet us at the Rockfish tomorrow afternoon, that would be great."

He looks around at the artwork in the warehouse and asks the group, "Any ideas how we'll get this merchandise back to the Inn?"

Can we carry it ourselves, or does it require a wagon?

Jeeves thinks aloud about Ellvard. "So what do we know about Ellvard? He's a fiercely loyal member of the guard. He recently sold an expensive painting to Belimarius, but it might have been a forgery. And he'll be working the docks the day we leave. Is there anything else?" Jeeves pulls the group away from earshot of Themolin and whispers, "If we can get a bit more info on this guy, perhaps we could use it as blackma...er....leverage to encourage him to allow us passage at the docks."

When Gita can't identify the potion, Jeeves asks her permission to examine it.

He shrugs and hands it back to her.

After Gita heals Harsk, Jeeves offers, "I have a couple spells left as well. I'm happy to use them to help with healing, but I'd like to save them for a short time longer in case I need them during our investigation."

Jeeves has one 1st and one 2nd spell slot left. Soothe is a signature spell, so he can cast it at 1st or 2nd. Thus, he can cast 1 of each which will heal 1d10+4 (1st level) or 2d10+8 (2nd level).

Regarding Ellvard, Jeeves turns back to Themolin. "To gather more information about Ellvard's suspected fraud, is there an art gallery or someone involved in the art business that could help us with our investigation?"

This is in addition to the 16 from her 4th Heal spell; if Beckett gets the 11 from K'Anubis' Medicine-based heal, Beckett is at full (20HP).

Healing Harsk with Medicine:: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Healing total from skill, 10 minutes:: 2d8 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10

So Beckett is at full, 20HP;

Harsk has 9+16+10 (=35,>HP) so full, at 34HP.

K'Anubis, I see you as 31/36 (not 17?). Can someone else do Medicine on K'Anubis?

Lets think that last time Kanubis used Medicine selfish...and full in this case. Can provide more Treat Wounds if someone feels bad. Take 10. Spend ten minutes. Avoid spending time for healing...


Second edition has no rules for taking 10. It has the Assurance skill feat but that is quite different.

Themolin looks at a bit of a loss. I am afraid I cannot help you there.

Looking back I think at least one of you might have already tried to gather info on Ellvard. Others can try if they want but this will be your last action for today before you need to return to the Inn. There is no further combat today so dont worry about healing up. You have two main decisions to make now, what other activities do you want to do to tonight and who will be coming with you to the cove tomorrow morning to escape on the early boat.

I have Dar continuing to treat Vurna today so I will take a mdicine check for that. Dar gets a second action for tonight, the rest of you also get one evening action.

As a reminder, you might try to build more rafts, draft forged papers or continue to treat Vurna. At this point you have largrly exhausted doing anything about Ellvard, subject to a final gather info. Unfortunately you failed the attempt to secure the affidavit and it is now out of your reach.

K'Anubis identifies the potion as a potion of invisibility. The artwork is small enough to be transported relatively easily.

1st command, grease, gust of wind, magic missile
Cantrips: electric arc, mage hand, produce flame, ray of frost, sigil

Scribing new spells is an exploration activity but it takes one hour per spell level and requires an Arcana check.

While Gita and K'Anubis heal the others, Jeeves sits cross-legged in a corner of the warehouse and strums softly in meditation to his muse, Shelyn.
He attempts to recover his Focus points. Is this okay, GM Andrew?
When he's done with his meditation, "If anyone still needs healing, let me know. I have a couple Soothe spells available."

Jeeves and Gita previously tried to gather info on Ellvard. Gita was successful, but Jeeves was not. It sounds as if Beckett, Harsk, and K'Anubis can try on our way back now. Otherwise, Jeeves summarized what we know of Ellvard in my previous post.

Jeeves reviews the general plan. "We told Daffrid that we'd meet her family at the sewer entrance. We said we'd spend the night with them at Flitch's campsite. So, at least some of us need to meet her there." After doing some quick counting, he continues, "We'll need 2 of the rafts with us in the sewers, so we'll need to stop off at the Rockfish to get them. And maybe get Dar too. Two rafts would carry a total of 8 people: Daffrid's family (4) and Flitch (1), along with 3 of us to make sure they board safely."

He concludes, "While 3 of us handle transport, the rest can wait in the cave entrance or at the Rockfish. Does this make sense? Am I forgetting anything?"
