The young ranger attempts to get a better look at these bugs to see if he might know what they are.

Danus shakes his head as he follows the others back up the tower.

"Upstairs...down stairs..zombies...bugs! I'm telling you Tor, this adventuring life is a lot different than I thought it was gonna be!"

Danus scans the room before entering and examining the huge winches.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

If all is clear he calls back to the others and enters the room, making for the winches to discover how they work and open the way for Oona.

"Come and give me a hand here mates! Let's open the way up for Oona and her wagon."

If the door is not locked, Danus will open it.

"Ok, be ready, I am opening this door...I can only hear the wind beyond, so let's hope nothing too dangerous!"

He opens the door

Feeling slightly better, Danus looks to the door to the east.

"Well we might as well see this through...right?"

He moves to the door and listens to see if he can hear anything beyond.

Once the more seriously wounded have been healed, Danus tends to his and Tor's wounds.

Moving to Boros, Danus quickly tries to stabilize the wounded halfling.

"Hold on little buddy...almost there!"

Danus quickly gets to work on Boros

He next moves on to Valkor, who is slowly slipping away!

Grabbing the downed Valkor and directing Tor to get Boros, Danus calls out.

"Back...back...let's get out of here. Tor get Boros and drag him out!'

He swiftly takes some meat from his pack and throws it into the centre of the swarm to try and distract it while they escape.

Not too sure if there would be a roll for that, but all he can think to try at the moment!!!

"Where do you think this door leads? Maybe the zombie chief!!?"

The youth gives a nervous giggle as he moves to the door and listens.

"Well unless we want to go outside, I guess it is into the kitchen I suppose!?"

The young warrior moves towards the door and grips the latch.

"We all ready?"

Once everyone announces their are ready, he opens the door.

Moving over to the fallen Valkor, Danus removes a number of ingredients from a pouch and, crushing them together with a liberal amount of saliva, creates a poultice that he applies to the wounds.

"There you go...that should help some."

Heal: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 6) = 13

Danus swings again at the undead monster before him.

Unable to strike the monster, Tor steps over to try and gore it!

Dropping his bow, Danus moves forward a step while unsheathing his long sword and striking at the zombie in front of him.
Meanwhile, Tor continues to gore the zombie before him.

Danus moves from the stairs to allow the others to enter the battle. He sends Tor off to attack the zombie that Valkor has struck. Meanwhile, he takes aim with his bow and fires at one of the zombies (see green line on map)

Danus enters the room and begins to look around.

"Tor, watch the stairs while we check out this place!" he asks his companion.

I would agree with Boros. Danus also has healing capabilities so I think we should be good!

"Wait... don't!! What if there ARE vampires?? Let's take it easy and listen before we just rip it open...we might hear them...I don't know...growling??"

He goes to the door and places his ear on the reinforced wood.

Moving forward, Danus examines the door.

Once complete he checks the area for tracks that might tell him if anyone has been this way lately, and maybe the number and composition of the tracks.

Nodding in agreement and smiling at his "new" name, Danus treks over to the hill and stealthily attempts to climb to the top so he can view the tops of the towers. He tells Tor to remain with the wagon.

Danus waits to see if anyone else has a plan before climbing the hill.

Danus looks startled at Sébastien declaration.

"Vampires...they are real?? Will he become a vampire now that he was bitten?"

The ranger takes a step back from the corpse and calls Tor to his side.

Danus moves slowly toward the furry lump. When still a few feet away, he will have his axe in hand and Tor beside him.

"Hey there...are you hurt?" he speaks as he would to a small child or animal.

Looking over the ancient corpses, the woodsman is surprised to note that he actually recognizes the arms and armour.

"These are old Sunderlander and Zethinian styles. Ancient to be sure! Now, who is this newer addition to the crypt?"

Can a medicine check perhaps tell how old the corpse is and what his method of death was or perhaps nature?? If so, then here is my rolls:

Danus is awake early and packs waiting for the others to rise and gather their things. Like his friend Sébastien, Danus is excited by the prospect of actually entering his first 'dungeon'.

"With the barrows door open I am afraid tomb robbers have already been within...or maybe it is the hiding place of bandits? Maybe we should take a quick look... it's not that far from here..."

Danus looks around at the others to see who might be interested.

"Yeah..umm..your probably right. Let's get back to the others and tell them what we found. Then maybe we can come back and explore?"

It is a task, but somehow the young man sounds both excited and horrified at the thought of examining the barrow.

They trace their trail back through the trees to where the others are waiting.

As he comes into the clearing, Danus stops and takes the scene in. Seeing the pony peacefully nibbling grass and the weird hill with the door brings the ranger up short.

"Ummm, Sébastien...do you know what a barrow looks like? I think that might be one right in front of us...and the door is open!"

He keeps Tor from entering the clearing for the moment not wanting to spook the pony or have the inquisitive boar enter the open door.

"Thanks Sébastien! I am glad to have you with me! Now let's get moving and see if we can find Misty and bring her home."

Danus looks over the tracks and tells Sébastien what he has discovered.

"If you want to return to the others that is fine, but I think I can probably find Misty and bring her back before morning. Tor and I should be ok...I hope!"

Danus scans the ground around them, looking for any spoor that might help them track the wayward Misty.

Yikes..I just noticed that it was difficult terrain!! Not too sure if there is anything that might get rid of that...I know rangers use to be able to do something like that...but I do not see anything here...so it will be stride 3 times (75 feet-down to 37.5 feet). Now I have to see if any free actions can help me stop the pony before it bolts even further away!!!
