![]() Heh, this reminds me of the good old days of playing Ultima Online. We would capture or summon undead mages and have them there casting hostile spells on us to train magical resistance. Tangent aside I think it might be a hard sell, but it could be used as a interesting trap for someone's dungeon or lair. I don't think I would set a hard and fast price on it, it seems to me to be something that should take some good effort and RP from the players to find and negotiate a sale on. Maybe there's not even a gold sum, but instead a trade or even some sort of boon as a reward. ![]()
![]() Was reading the post about traits for movement speed and it made me think, how could I make a character with the highest land speed (the earlier the better). Travel domain gives +10.
Always on bonuses over temp (spells okay but they only last a limited time). What order would be best to pick things up to ensure the highest move speed at each level? Any way to either VMC or such to get multiple of these and and limit dips somewhat? For combat ability I was thinking this could work as an archer using hit and bolt tactics, especially 'shoot on the run' to be able to keep opponents at bay. Though combat ability comes ad a secondary to speed. Ideal level range would be 5-7, but would love to see how it could get even better at higher levels. Edit:

![]() I have a question. At the end of part two the party gets another boon from Baba Yaga, they get: 'Each PC can choose to gain either DR 5/— or
Would the DR from this boon stack with other sources of DR? Like the Barbarian's DR or the Druids DR from elemental form and such?`Rules as written I know that DR does not stack, but these boons are somewhat outside of the rules to begin with, so should they stack with other things? (The Natural armor bonus from the first boon said it did stack for example.) ![]()

By that sentiment, to you a player only rolls Perception, Sense Motive and Disable Device, some Saves and nothing else since that's what he says he rolls for them... What about spells, attacks, roleplaying? No players do any of those? Asking why he needs players seems like a silly question. ![]()
![]() I have a GMPC in one of my campaigns, we started off with three players; Paladin, Rouge and a Wizard. They wanted a healer so I offered to play a wildshape focused druid, she spends most her time as a beast so rarely speaks. Mostly following what the others decide. I would also recommend playing a support or tank role. And not something that has the face role as that would lead to some strange interactions. ![]()
![]() I have made another Wildshape Calculator that might be of interest. I converted it from OpenOffice to Google Docs so it might have some flaws, but it seamed to work okay for me. If you find any errors please let me know. It calculates new attack mods, AC, CMD, CMB and HP based on your choice of form. It also allows for Wild armor and shields, as well as Mage Armor. ![]()
![]() One thing you could do is to have an Ancient Red Dragon come flying in towards them and burn down a nearby village, they'd get a dc 27 dragon fear check and you'll have a nice plot hook for them to help the village, and eventually they might get to slay the dragon. Ways they can help the village include treating the wounded, getting people out of wreckage, as messengers to other villages or towns, finding lost children who ran into the woods in fear ect ect. ![]()
![]() Actually what you should take away from it is that you want to increase the one that is weakest. The high damage person should find ways to increase his accuracy. While the high accuracy should look into ways to raise damage. Find the sweet spot between damage and accuracy is what you should aim for. ![]()
![]() If you have a group of people that as you said are tactical, then you could go support. A bard makes a great addition to any party especially if your friends are likely to optimise. Grab some sosial skill and some trap and other supportive skills and you will help out your party a lot. You will not be the one doing the huge numbers, but you will make your tactical friends shine even more and they will love you for it! ![]()

^^ This. People call what OP's player did lawful stupid, it is not, going into a legal establishment and murdering it's patrons because they are evil is a chaotic act. A paladin follows the laws not just good vs evil. I would not have let him suddenly turn evil just because he felt wronged, the transition from a crusader of good to a selfish and evil person is a long an wretching road. ![]()
![]() Minsc is a great inspiration; Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, watch it! I'm huge! Evil 'round every corner. Careful not to step in any. Take heart fellow adventurers, for you have curried the favor of Boo, the only miniature giant space hamster in the Realm! There is strength in numbers, and I am two or three, at least. The bigger they are, the harder I hit! (when berserking): Fear not! I will inspire you all by charging blindly on! (to his pet hamster Boo, when battle is imminent): Go for the eyes Boo, GO FOR THE EYES!! RrraaaAAGHGHH!!! (on failure to do damage with equipped weapon): I hit, to no effect!? I need a bigger sword! Butt-kicking! For goodness! Minsc will lead with blade and boot! Boo will take care of the details. Jump on my sword while you can, evil... I won't be as gentle! Squeaky wheel gets the kick!
Ooo, squirrels, Boo! I know I saw them! Quick, throw nuts! Feel the backhand of Justice! Full plate, and packing steel! A den of stinking evil. Cover your nose Boo! We will leave no crevice untouched! When the going gets tough, someone hold my rodent! There be safety in numbers and I am two or three at least. These bars will not hold my wrath. Minsc will be free! Butts shall be liberally kicked in good measure. Make way evil! I'm armed to the teeth and packing a hamster! Boo points, I punch. Is very simple relationship, but it is effective. Cities always teem with evil and decay. Let's give it a good shake and see what falls out! |
