I was having a similar issue with my far left lane. Kept losing my monsters and locations stack. Someone had recommended newspaper. Through a grocery add in there and have not had any issues since. Hope this helps. Love the insert.

@Parody - good call on newspaper on the edges.

I too recently purchased the updated bt insert. Like the design, seems sturdy and the sleeved cards fit well. Couple things I am worried about:

Left row the insert slips in the middle (I think Parody's newspaper on that side will solve that issue)

Could use more inserts. With the addition of cohorts and mythic paths i am not sure there are enough slots for everything anymore once all the APs have been added.

Width of each row could be a tad wider, but I realize that would sacrifice the deck slots on the right. When putting a stack of cards away if you don't have them perfectly lined up it seems some will slip into the grooves and hang up. Not a big deal, but an adjustment coming from the regular insert with unsleeved cards sliding right in.

All in all a solid purchase and would recommend.

Not sure how helpful my input will be since when I've done this I run four man parties through, but here's my input. I ran a four man 'Arcane' group through of Seltyiel, Melindra, Zarlova and Flenta. Seltyiel got mad at Flenta when she 'cast' her first spell and he called her out for a fraud, but that's neither here nor there. Group ran well Melindra and Zarlova might be two of my favorite characters in the game this far. Melndra runs as a cross between a rogue and a wizard. Strong Dex helps with lots of the RotR checks, just careful on weapons since not weapon prof till later (if at all). Zarlova recharge is op at times it feels as I hardly failed recharge checks. Added her for the arcane ability later to add spells and hardly needed it at all. Charisma/Diplomacy checks were my only real struggle with the group.

I decided to run RotR again with characters the wife and I didn't use for Wrath. Got through the B scenarios with a group of Adowyn, Crowe, Sharda and Amaryllis. So far Sharda is my struggle since the last two healers I played were SnS Lini and Zarlova who both can recharge attack spells on top of their decks.

I write this as someone who was against sleeving from the get go.

We bought Rotr back in about August, since then we have played through it five times so it has gotten quite a bit of use. The cards are taking quite a beating between chipping, bending and peeling back. Going into S&S we again decided not to sleeve and about then we realizd just how worn RotR was. Now into adventure 4 we are again seeing a good deal of wear showing.

When we started the season we decided to sleeve. Granted it is now a pain having he game box unsleeved and the class deck sleeved, we carry quite a few extra sleeves to keep up. But having them sleeved is keeping the cards in tact. Long story short, when wrath comes out, we'll be sleeving. Just need Ultra Pro to get their insert released or Broken Token, here we come.

As for sleeves we have tried three version and we recommend the ultra pro ones. We have penny sleeves that are cheap but work well for tracking skill and power feats. The Fantasy Flight ones were next, quality was nice but they are a bit too long and got annoying when shuffling. Finally got the ultra pro ones and we stuck with them. It's a small difference in length, but enough to make a difference imo.

So looking for a bit of clarification on this topic. I understand that when starting adventure 4 I want to remove all basics/elites from the box, per the guidance on the scenario sheets. What I am unclear on though is should i do these same with my class deck? Now if I have a basic dagger in my active cards I know I wouldn't banish that one and pick a new card. But if I have basics in my pool then the random draw from scenario rewards would be a larger pool if not banished.

Am I trying to read to much into this.
