Curse your machinations! Cyrioul cries. Whatever you think you'll accomplish in this land, it ends here tonight!

Just in case, on his next turn, Cyrioul will step away from the (presumably) approaching worg, draw his wand of magic missile, and fire at the Bugbear boss, hoping that bringing down the leader will benefit all of them.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Hello, everyone,

I'm very sorry for my extended and unexplained absence. Starting near the end of May my family and I were traveling every weekend, and most of a week at one point. With my wife's academic year of teaching wrapped up and the summer open, my kiddo and I are actually getting to spend more time with her, and we're enjoying life in our small midwest town as much as we can before our move later this summer to NYC.

Its no excuse for leaving you in the lurch, and I'm sorry for that. I will catch up now as best I can.

- Jason

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Time to go, my friends, Cyrioul mutters. Grabbing a wand from his belt as he backs up to the far side of the tower, he points it at the ground at the top of the stairs, speaks a word of power, and drops a layer of disgusting grease down to slow the advance of the troops.

Won't hold them back for long!

Move + Draw wand, DC 11 Grease spell at the top of the stairs. 2 wand charges remaining. Sorry for the delay, all - holiday time = lots of family time. Apologies!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul snatches a pat of butter from his component pouch and speaks a word of power, causing slippery grease to form all over the hammer on the table!

Should be a DC 15 to pick up the hammer, now!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Well, crap. Should have cast vanish first. Sorry, all!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Cyrioul does his best to quietly cast Mage Hand so that he can guide the ladder slowly down towards the party. If he makes a ruckus, he abandons subterfuge, and just gets the ladder down quickly.

Oof - ruckus likely, get ready to roll!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Yep, we climb first, then rain hell on the camp, THEN set fire to the tower. :)

GM, how do we get up the tower? Rope ladder somewhere, and if so, stealth checks while we go?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Ooops! Nope, just me misremembering and failing. Carry on, team! Cyrioul would know his role, it's just Jason that messes up.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul whispers to his friends It is a good time to strike. One is even sleeping! I'll make myself invisible, and run forward to put the alchemist's fire in place. Let me get a little bit away from you when I cast it, or you all go ahead a bit, and then I'll cast it so I don't draw anyone towards you with my words. Ready!

When everyone is ready, Cyrioul will cast vanish, which lasts 3 rounds, and then run forward to put the Alchemist's Fire in such a place that is most likely to light up the watch tower.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Sorry for the delay - Cyrioul would have wanted to go along, so that he could use his brief moments of invisibility to plant the alchemist's fire on the watchtower, but if that's too much retcon, just let me know.

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

I'm good with that!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Agreed - if we're ready, let's do this now. Cyrioul takes a moment to refresh his memory on his spells, and gets ready for the assault, particularly getting ready the vanish spell so that he can help someone get as close as possible without being seen.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul assists as best he can with hiding the trap...

Intelligence Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

...but is only of marginal help. I'm afraid that I'm all ideas, not much for practical application in this scenario, my friends.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul lifts his own cup to Aubrin's praise, and is grateful for the news about the gold. That'll certainly help us with Novvi, I suppose.

When the discovery of an ambush spot, Cyrioul applies his mind as best he can to the coming action. Hmm, I might be able to engineer something for us to trip, and bring part of the hillside down on them. It would be a tricky thing to do well, of course, but, well, let me think...

Kn(Engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

...yes, I think that we could maybe weaken the hillside there, there, and there, and with a long rope to pull out the supports, we could at least slow them down. Maybe not enough to bury any of them, but certainly a way to slow them down.

GM, let me know if that's out of order, and we'll retcon.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul helps with the distribution and tracking of goods as best he can, making sure that those most in need of better food get it quickly.

When the talk turns to battle plans, he listens cautiously. I have to say that I'm more partial to an initial hit and run attack. We just need some place to run to - preferably one with lots of hidden bear traps that we have set. Wherever we run to needs to be incredibly fortified, and ready to mete out a great deal of justice quickly.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

That's what I'm hoping for! :)

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul nods. Fairly said, Cedric. I know that we can use them, I'm just thinking of the options. I'm ready to move on them tomorrow, if we all are, presuming that we cannot use this very caravan as a ruse to get close to the camp...

Or maybe that is its best use? We could empty the containers at Hidden Hope right now, quickly, then bring the cart back to this spot, move it further forward on the trail, and then torch it - make it look like the ambush happened in another spot, and send a trail that leads back to their own encampment. If they should send a patrol looking for it in the morning, it might give us a bit more time to deal with some of those in the main camp before they return.

Of course, if they send out a patrol to look for it tonight, then yes, we'll have to trust the track-covering abilities we have here.

He looks around at the others. My spell of invisibility will not grant much time at the encampment, but perhaps enough for one of us to run up to the watch tower and use these flasks of alchemist fire to light it on fire. After that, we'll see what the battle brings, no?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul does his best to quench the fire as quickly as possible before standing to help the others gather up the materials. That's quite the supply wagon! They'll be missing that almost instantly. We're going to have to cover our tracks really well - can we even lead the horses and wagon back to Hidden Hope? he asks, still wincing at his singes.

I suppose it's just as much trouble to have everyone from the hideout come out here to help us carry it back... I have a spell that will let me carry a few hundred pounds of gear, and can cast it a couple times, but those provisions are simply too big for anything but the wagon.

He thinks for a moment. Here's a radical thought - we torch the provisions, and walk off with everything else of value. Thus far, we've been able to supply ourselves, and come up with a stable food supply for all the people by making sure everyone is pitching in. This would be a good backup supply for us, but if we should ever have to leave Hidden Hope, it would be too much for us to carry ourselves.

If it burns, then the Legion doesn't get it, either, but maybe they won't be able to follow us back home. He throws his hands up. Just a radical thought - I don't want to waste good food more than anyone else. Also, I can cast a spell to help us carry a few hundred pounds of gear, if needed - I think it could help us get back to the hideout. (Floating Disk)

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul whips out the wand he keeps at his belt, and fires off a bolt of force at the hobgoblin with the alchemist's fire!

Magic Missile (1 charge remaining): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul steps forward to the edge of the rocks and shouts "Chwistrell! at the closest hobgoblin, sending a shower of light and sparks at the creature, hoping to lay it low.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Sorry all!

Displaying a new trick, Cyrioul steps towards Bree and touches her arm, giving her a mote of prescience. +1 to her next d20 roll.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

To Novvi: Of course - we wouldn't expect such from you. I appreciate your candor, though. And the warning for us to make sure we watch against duergar approaches here.

To Bree: I'm sorry - gemology isn't my specialty, though without purchasing some very low quality items from Novvi, I don't know how else we might get more. Or we could be the ones to lead it - I think it unlikely that Novvi would volunteer for that duty. As interesting of a creature it is, it's an expensive... pet.

Cyrioul is most likley to scout with Knowledge(Geography)!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

As a team, we have about a thousand gold pieces worth of cash remaining. Otherwise, we may have a few items yet that we could sell, but it's going to be pretty minimal.

Cyrioul walks up to Novvi with Boudra, and - signing as he talks - asks, Hello, well met. I think a few of us have trading needs, but I wanted to ask if there is any other news from other points along your route?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul, in the meantime, has finished work on his spell crafting, and proudly shows off his craft to a few of the children as a form of entertainment.

...and with but a word and a flourish, yn diflannu! the half elf disappears from site for almost twenty seconds, calling Catch me if you can find me! and laughing as the children scamper about.

That was two words, wasn't it? one child asks, to which Cyrioul can only shrug.

Fair enough - and good ears! he replies. Maybe I can teach the rest to you someday. For now, I hear that our trader has returned. Let us see what news she has brought.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

My vote is Lesser Restoration as well. Thanks!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Knowing that the archers pose a significant threat to the party, Cyrioul focuses through the ring on his finger and calls out, Turn your eyes from the scouts - Cymysg gronyn! There is an explosion of light and sparkling motes of energy near the bow-wielding hobgoblins.

Casting glitterdust to try and blind the green and yellow hobgoblins. 10 foot radius should be able to get them both. DC 16 will save to negate the blindness.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Nice healing roll!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Keeping an eye on the hobgoblins, Cyrioul will cast Cat's Grace on Lily.

cath yn ffafrio! he intones. Should make you a bit more accurate, my friend, though it doesn't look like you need it!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Thorek, I'm all for that strategy! Sounds great to me.

Cyrioul curses. Gozreh's beard, I knew I should have started work on this sooner. Damnation! Very well, we'll get ready what we can, and have to figure it out on the way.

He grabs his crossbow and wands, and gets ready to be in position to help with taking out the hobgoblins.

Once the captives are inside, I'll craft an illusion of a rock barriacade in the way - in case the Legion members try coming any further in.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Thank you, Bree. If you can come help me keep that in mind the next few days, I'd appreciate it.

Need 3 more checks to help get it, Bree - thanks!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Right, then. I'll get to my research as quickly as I can. Here's hoping for a breakthrough...

Research Checks:

Day 1
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Day 2
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Day 3
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Day 4
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Day 5
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Day 6
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Day 7
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Day 8
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Day 9
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Day 10
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Kn(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Shoot - I read it wrong the first time. Wizard has to make the same check each day, and it specifically states not taking 10 on the check. It would end up taking 10 days total, not 7, to research the spell, unless someone else in the party has Knowledge(Arcana) and wants to give me a hand, in which case I'd be done in 7.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

What do you think, Aubrin? Could some of our ragtag militia assist us in a fight like this?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

I had hoped to research a spell granting a longer duration of invisibility, but if we are short on time, perhaps a shorter fix will do.

Vayelan, would I still have enough time before the emissary comes to research the spell vanish? It takes 7 days, and I'd have to pay 100 gp (or in this case, my 2 points of Magic Capital), but I'd only start if if there's enough time. DC 12 Spellcraft (no problem) and Arcana (well, I probably won't fail it) if I go for it. Thanks!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Oooo, I remember seeing one at one point, but yeah, having that linked would be handy!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul wonders at the report that the others bring back to him. I'm glad that you are all safe - he could have been a powerful ally. I hope that we can take advantage of his warning, but I agree that we most certainly need to eliminate the outpost to best secure our footing here. I assume that we can simply overwhelm the emissary when he returns, but that brute force will not work quite so well on the rest of that encampment. What proposals do you have for the assault, my friends?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Thanking Novvi for the scrolls, Cyrioul sets about studying them for memorization, and copying into his spellbook...

This takes 4 hours.
Spellcraft to copy See Invisibility (DC 17): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Spellcraft to copy cat's grace (DC 17): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Spellcraft to copy fox's cunning (DC 17): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Spellcraft to copy scorching ray (DC 17): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

After an intense evening of study and careful copying, Cyrioul breathes a sigh of relief that his spellbook now contains additional tricks and tools.

- - -

Aye, I'll be ready shortly, Bree. When we get close, or you think we are close, let me know and I'll see if I can detect its thoughts with a spell.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Yes, please feel free to edit the spreadsheet however you wish!

Cyrioul greets the gnome, and assists Boudra with translation. "Thank you for the scrolls, Novvi. We may have a few other requests here, from the others. By chance, what news from Kraggodan?"

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul encourages the others to go on without him. I'll continue with some research, friends. Best of luck with finding our new ally! In the meantime, remind me what items I can begin making preparation around for you. I want to help get everything in place as soon as possible while we have these resources available.

GM: I'd like to spend 1 day and 100 GP in materials to generate 2 points of Magic from the Downtime Rules. I'll then put these to use crafting items later once I know what folks are interested in having. Thanks!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

[ooc]Right! Anyone remember who makes the Loyalty check? :) Looks like Cedric or Boudra, bonus is +4.[ooc]

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

I'm glad that you got a better look than I, Thorek. As for fire, if I had a couple of weeks to research it, I believe that I could make someone invisible long enough to get right up into the camp. But that puts this person in a difficult spot once they start burning things. The theory - if I understand it right - is that it's difficult to keep the spell in place when someone moves too quickly. He pauses to think.

If we wait until that... 'ambassador' returns, he might get some of the captives out of the way for us. However, if my research doesn't stay on track, I might not be able to keep that timeline, but perhaps Novvi might be able to bring another scroll for me to use?

He shakes his head. Too much to consider. Let us see what Novvi has when she arrives. Hopefully, it will be just what we need!

For the Militia, I think we should Drill Militia to get to training rank 2 during the first week, then have the Informants use the Gather Information activity during the second week to keep tabs on the area again. Sound fair?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Very smartly done, Lily! But yes, he adds, following the signed conversation, Let us do what we can to follow them in a little while.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul listens carefully inside the cave, keeping his loaded crossbow at the ready and the words of a spell on his lips. Gods, just let them go away...

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

We are definitely more focused on just hiding right now, so I think that those make sense. I need to read the descriptions again, but I might prioritize Secrecy, and definitely agree that the action to Surveil makes a lot of sense.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul steps naturally into the Overseer role for the hideout. Gathering the various materials available to the group, he prepares to put the forge to work on enchanting items for general use...

GM: At this point, barring serious tragedy, we should be fairly stable in terms of the foraging/hunting checks that we would need to make, but let me know if you need a list of who would actually be available for drafting into a Team and I'll get it ready!

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul nods in agreement, saying and signing, I agree about staying back at Hidden Hope for now. I'd like to finalize repairs on the forge, just to make sure we can make any equipment repairs that we should need. Also, after we talk to Aubrin about the Rangers, I'd like us to see about making a map to get back to Veld, in case we need to.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

You know... it never occurred to me! Cyrioul shakes his head. Seems like our best chance, even if she has been out for a while.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

These should be fairly helpful, Cyrioul says as he hands the fiery arrows to Lily (along with the rest of the quiver). Just a little hope, at least.

With that, he recommends returning to Hidden Hope. From there, we can send out scouts, perhaps, and see if there might be any others we can bring to our aid.

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Saddened by the man's fate, Cyrioul offers what guidance and foresight he can to his allies, aiding them with their strikes and disarming attempts.

Using Diviner's Fortune to aid allies

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Dismayed that his spell returned nothing, Cyrioul simply says, Good idea, Thorek, when the trap is triggered. Assuming Bree comes back to report what she says, he frowns. It's possible that the person inside resisted my magic, but I wonder if something more dangerous has happened. Could the man be posessed by the spirit of his cat? Is his cat elsewhere?

Signing to Boudra, he asks, You're likely our best tracker. Can you see any tracks going from here that match those of a large cat?

M Half-Elf Wizard 3 (Diviner), AC 16, HP 19/20, FRW +2/+3/+4, INIT +9, Party Reward Tracker | NPC Activity Tracker | Personal Gear Tracker | Combat Status Tracker

Cyrioul nods, stepping carefully over the trap. As the party approaches the cabin, he casts detect thoughts to discern any humanoid presence inside and what they might be thinking. ((DC 16 Will Save to avoid))

Detect Thoughts (Description):

You detect surface thoughts. The amount of information revealed depends on how long you study a particular area or subject.

1st Round: Presence or absence of thoughts (from conscious creatures with Intelligence scores of 1 or higher).

2nd Round: Number of thinking minds and the Intelligence score of each. If the highest Intelligence is 26 or higher (and at least 10 points higher than your own Intelligence score), you are stunned for 1 round and the spell ends. This spell does not let you determine the location of the thinking minds if you can’t see the creatures whose thoughts you are detecting.

3rd Round: Surface thoughts of any mind in the area. A target’s Will save prevents you from reading its thoughts, and you must cast detect thoughts again to have another chance. Creatures of animal intelligence (Int 1 or 2) have simple, instinctual thoughts.

Each round, you can turn to detect thoughts in a new area. The spell can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it.
