will the rain god accept unicorns? I have a backyard full of them

I agree a total vote counter would be awesome and I think it would speed up voting to reach the next cull...speaking of which I believe it is time for me to do my blood rituals again, it took some effort but I collected 36 virgins from various 5th edition groups around the southern California area and am ready to appease the cull god. ...So that's why our Cleric didn't show up on Sunday... was he a little chubby, lots of acne, had no way with girls... he rests with the cull god now.

It can also affect incorporeal and haunts but only if you cut yourself and drip your blood on said filigree and runes . And it can also cast magic missile but only at complete darkness. Fixed
"Where're the Cheetos?!" Oh I forgot that if you and your buddy both have this item you can share your skills and feats. And if you die, it raises you as a ghost, and then the weapon becomes dancing and starts hacking away at all your ectoplasms. And it lets you speak with dead days after the fact, like that other item that does the same thing. No, the other item that does the same thing. No, the other one. No, the other one. No, the one from last year. No, the other one from last year. No... wait, maybe it was one of the four from two years ago, instead. That's only if the runes inscribed along its hilt are currently glowing a soft blue, which of course only occurs if the bearer is sad. I thought the blue glow meant you are attuned but the red glow meant you can see the colored auras of other people and then control them. No silly the red glow means it can copy somethings face. Um, just wondering: If people keep quoting quotes that quote quote quote, will the original quote be swallowed by darkness?
The graytoned flag up above is getting darker and darker with each new sub-quote. Is there a limit to the number of sub-quotes?
Asking in all serious--not being snarky. Much. Clearly, we need to find out. maybe it will implode on itself and suck the whole thread into nothingness

Oh, right.
You know, "disqualification" is one word. Shouldn't it be "D"?
Thus ends DeathQuaker's annual THE ABBREVIATION FOR DISQUALIFICATION HURTS MY HEAD post
Anyway, yes, just to repeat it the nth time for fun, it's if you obviously designed the item for a different game. Errors are not auto-disqualifications. It'd be like saying leaving in one of the ZZs in the pastable template is against the rules. It's not, just a mistake. IIRC, even some of the winning module proposals have had (minor) rules errors in them.
I think the disqualifiable stuff is the big, broad rulebreakers like breaks 300 word limit, is written for other game, violates IP, writer identifies their own item prematurely, etc.
*goes off to buy a Blizzard(TM)*
Saying that item got the 'D' might not go over so well...
I guess they could also catch things that break the rules that we dont
Kobold Cleaver wrote: Erm, I wasn't talking about an item. That term has a meaning outside Superstar—consider the context. :P I only exist within the dimensional rift of RPGSS, all other meanings and contexts go over my head.
Kobold Cleaver wrote: I never said it didn't have a huge effect. I just think I'd be more likely to be banned than would the guy I was targeting. It would be a bit unfair if I could just make a ------, post my contempt (or false adoration) for an item I wanted out, and get it eliminated. That post may be too specific to an item
Einhänder wrote: I thought the first round was picked by votes/rank only? Why is there a judge?
Not that I'm complaining! I'm kind of nervous about things being only left up to the voting...
Actually I was curious about that as well

Einhänder wrote: I'm a sucker for quirky, underpowered simplicity.
I hate the pro-undead items as well. Almost always a down vote (almost!). I've had bad experiences with gamers that attempt to wreck campaigns with the pro-undead stuff.
Now, if it a cursed item, that's more workable but RPGSS doesn't want cursed items.
I tend to agree, pro-undead items sound awesome on paper but tend to be game breaking at the table.
You can still have items with drawbacks though... like if I was going to have a pro-undead item I would give it a chance for them to turn on you or something...magic items need not be all powerful...drawbacks done right make things more fun
Einhänder wrote: Huh. I always thought ven saying the name in a public forum was really bad. It probably really just depends on the context like I said...but I would err on the side of caution whenever mentioning the actual name of an item...it's a fine line.
Einhänder wrote: Isn't naming the items going to get them DQ'd?!? Like back always on the thread? You can track items and statistics but you cant discuss details about individual entries...in essence be as vague as possible
Saying you saw such and such item is probably okay...we all know that it exists...saying such and such item is amazing or terrible because of such and such is not wise.
omicloudd wrote: How many are left ? 440...it has been sitting there for a few hours now
My item survives again....YAY!
My point exaclty... I have a backyard full of Dragons eating Unicorns, it's precious

Oh with this blood offering I summon thee second cull...I call you to rise from the depths and eliminate 10 to 20 percent of thine competition so mote it be!

You have basically described all items in left in the competition I am heartened to say my item contains none of those elements :-) Judge states I'm guilty on 2 1/2 of these...I think... At least I am only guilty of one of them...and my item is well written so I hope its not judged to harshly

If I do have a stalker, they can come out now, "olly olly oxen free"!
I was thinking that too...
Jerry Keyes wrote: I finally found the item that closely mimics my entry; and it's actually pretty good. Perhaps I'm just biased? Anyway, it got my vote. Now if I could just come across my submission.
On a side note, I'm always shocked when two items are so incredibly close to one another, yet the authors have never even spoken before. What are the odds, especially considering it has happened to me three years now?!?
Maybe you have a stalker?
This wondrous item does not actually do anything you say...take all of my gold anyway
An elegant solution would be to count total up and down votes for each item and make culls representational to volume of down votes, not just up votes so that items that have not been viewed often don't get removed prematurely.
You would think that people would pay more attention to the formatting.
Do you have to keep track of how many times you have voted or is there a counter somewhere?
Dang it Rick Rolled again :(
