Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Enough of this sitting about. All of this eating and sleeping is slowing us down. We have a mission. As Nickolas suggested let us follow the compass, if it gives no reliable reading we seek the stranger.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

We lack the numbers to deal with the Orcs properly, too many still live after the rockfall. The elementals were clearly agents of the gallery of chaos. They attacked this peaceful church and sought to burn it to the ground.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

int: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Grr this thing is poorly made and is not properly built to determine north.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

I have not determined anything else about the compass. As for the horse, it is not dead and should recovered shortly.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Huh it apparently ate my post from saturday night.

Eyeing the new arrival warily still, Crucible moves to check on the still horse and his still unconscious companion.

take 10 on heal checks for a 20

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible whirls toward the new figure, his eyes blazing blue and his hammer in hand.

Announce yourself manling! Are you in league with that foul burning beast? Spit it out or by the lord of the nine i will flatten you!

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

My lord repaired my damage. I am prepared to leave when you are.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

taking the 0 on ko engineering succeeds

cleaning: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Thank you for your generosity. I will attempt to repair what i can while we stay. As for provisions, I do not need such, but my companions would be most grateful.

Returning to the temple.

Raffe Crymoff, we have been granted leave to stay in the temple as long as we need for you and Issac to recover. They have also granted us a monetary boon for saving their children.

With that, Crucible walks to the damaged parts of the church and begins cleaning so that he can determine the level of repairs needed.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Very well. As soon as our companion recovers, we will move on. May your people be fertile and your works enduring.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Very well. My prayers are rarely intended to involve others.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

When finished with his examination, he gestures the Ratkin closer.

There are orcs amok in the forests and hills. If you have weapons you should bear them. I will tend to them if they are in need of repair. While I do so, can you speak to me of this box? It appears to have been located in your temple for some time.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Isaac continues to remain unconscious. Curious. I am not fond of riddles. I will examine the compass.

Crucible picks up the compass and attempts to determine if it points north or if it has some other more arcane purpose.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible carries Issac from the smoking temple, attempting to discern what damage he has suffered. Seeing the furtive eyes of the ratfolk villagers he calls them forth.

The fire creature has been defeated and the temple has been preserved. If you have a proper healer, my companion seems to have suffered from his deeds.

Crucible in his unsubtle fashion attempts to learn more of the god of this temple and the nature of the Ratfolk themselves as he tends to any hurts they have.

heal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

I have a game with him tomorrow night. Should be able to get him pointed in the right direction and give him some background then.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

full till 5 then roll per the character creation stuff

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Doh, forgot my axe to grind trait. would have added +1 damage on those few shield hits.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Still huffing in exertion and frustration, pulls off his leather apron and begins to use it to stomp out the remaining flames, then proceeds to start repairing the building, magically and methodically. As part of this he kicks the box over to Raffe.

When finished he leaves the temple and casts his remaining healing spell on himself.
clw: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Sent an email to a good friend that is big on RP and familiar with Pathfinder and pbp's for other games. I think he would be a good addition. And as I know him in real life it is easier to harass him if he doesn't send a submission in :P

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible continues to stand off the fiery creatures attacks but even his mighty limbs grow weary, and his brow furrows as his shielding enhancement nears its end.

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
dam: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
dam2: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

3-4 sounds good

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

I have mentioned to a few people i have played with in other pbp games that this is a fun game, i am guessing they never actually contacted.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Growling and muttering in a dark tongue Crucible continues to swing at the elusive fire creature, but smoke continues to cloak the creature, confusing his swings.

attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
dam1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
dam2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Ok this is getting ridiculous. FYI I moved Raffe where is sounds like he wanted.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Frustrated at his inability to slay the creature, Crucible takes a chance and shifts to strike at the creature from the rear. Hopefully he will be able to strike down the fire beast before it can get past him and attack his companions.

attack1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
damage1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
attack1: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14
damage1: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

or I could roll another 1.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Crucible ignores the smoldering of his heavy leather clothing, well used to the fires of the forge. Struggling to keep the swirling flame creature from going after those he protects, the forgeborn continues to focus on his shield, trusting to his defense to outlast the foes flailing attacks.

attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
damage1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
damage2: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

I think i am holding the hammer on the wrong end...:P

Is it possible to move in a position where I can be targeting it's back? I know I will still be taking a -4 to keep from hitting Crucible, but at least then he wouldn't also be providing an AC bonus to the thing... otherwise I am not sure how much help Raffe can provide.

Probably the most frustrating mechanic in the game. If the front line does what they are supposed to, it cripples the offense of the ranged people.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible continues his melee assault while shouting something at it in a dark tongue.

attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
damage1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible jams his shield at the beast from the left, trying to use it as an anvil to his hammer strike.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible remains standing in the midst of the temples hallway to block the creatures escape and mutters a dark prayer of protection. Shield AC to 23

Come beast, see if you burn hotter than the forge of creation.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Without words, Crucible charges around the corner to confront more of the minions of chaos.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Stepping forward Crucible swings round at it with both hammer and shield.

attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
damage1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
damage2: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible slides his shield to his arm and attempts to smash down this new foe as well. Missing badly he pulverizes a floor board.

attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Cruicible takes his hammer up in two hands and steps forward to block the creature for reaching the children, smashing at its form.

attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

If there are still children remaining Crucible will roughly scoop them up and shove them through the entrance. If the four the others grabbed are all of them, he will glance in the other side room then go to the alter and look for religious items than can be preserved.

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

KO Religion: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
KO Engineering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Your building is well made, it will stand.

Crucible marches in to the flames to seek the younglings.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

These creatures clearly know nothing of containing their own fires.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Weighing the balance of the exchange, Crucible accepts the new war hammer and sets down his standard weapon in it's place. He nods with new respect to the rat man. He looks to the two group members he has met.

I believe there are things that we must do. Thank you for your hospitality.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Pain is there to remind of the consequences of failing to avoid damage. To remove it from the healing process is foolish.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Crucible shrugs at the compliments, and his eyes seem far more focused now for having a nights rest. His eyes focus on the wounds of the group.

Raffe Crymoff. You are severely damaged, stand here and I will correct your injury.

Crucible chants a spell and his hand glows like a stoked forge as he reaches for Raffes head. Yes, it is a cure light wounds, but some things need special treatment, at least the first time :)

For Raffe assuming he accepts the spell:
Your senses fill with the scent of burned flesh and you feel the rush of pain from what would normally be days of pain from the bloody head wound. All condensed in to a single moment of eye watering agony.

Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

That seems a fair trade. I will do so.
With MW tools and my +2 racial bonus with metal and stone, that gives me a +11. I also have Mend. If possible I will take 10. If not here are the rolls, just going down the line.

craft rolls:

repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
retry on the last hammer
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
a very damaged hammer
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
ok this hammer may be defective :)
repair: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
There we go.

Crucible finishes with time to spare and polishes the weapons and stacks them neatly in a convenient corner. If he sees other weapons that are damaged, dirty or incomplete he continues working. If not he then draws his weapon and stands over the party facing the door for the rest of the night.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

Then perhaps I was created to shield you from harm. It is very hard to process information right now. Perhaps I misjudged the height of that cliff I jumped from. Filthy orc savages. turning to Greevy.

Greevy, I have little gold, but I am skilled at the repair and creation of weapons and armor, and require no sleep. If you allow these beings sanctuary, I will toil for you during the night.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

I do not know these beings you serve. I am the Crucible, servant of the Dwarven lords. I ask again do you stand for Order or Anarchy? You rat creature. Where do you stand?

Continuing on in the same vane, it becomes more apparent that the being before you is not fully cognoscente.

Forgeborn Warpriest (Forgepriest)|HP 22/22|Init+3|Perception+5|AC 20, touch 13, flat-footed 17| Fort+6,Ref+3,Will+8

The oddly colored dwarf-kin's eyes shoot open, lightly glowing blue. He jerks back from Issac's touch and attempts to right him self in the water.

swim: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5

This involves much flailing, but his steel armor pulls at him. With Issac to compare against, you can tell that this being is rather larger than your common dwarf.

swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

After a few moments crucible calms and plants his feet, his head rising above the water and stolidly walks to land. He grips his hammer and looks at the different people gathered.

Who are you, and with whom do you stand?

Crucibles eyes snap open. A blue glow radiates from them.

It is time.

Just something to put me on the gameplay thread. Pay no heed until the boss says so. :P
