WOOT, I have figured out why I wasn't able to find my listing in LFG. It has to do with the 2 check boxes, welcome new players, and Mature Content(18+). The search is very specific to those check boxes. By selecting Mature Content(18+), only, since that was the choice I made in my original listing, one will find games that have been listed as such. Some games have been listed with both listing options, welcome new players, and Mature Content(18+) and a search with both boxes clicked will reflect that too.
Do monsters, affected by player character spells such as Faerie Fire, Prayer and/or Glitterdust (not the blindness obviously, but the penalty to stealth regardless of save) have to make Concentration checks to cast spells due to penalties from ongoing effects? According to the PRD, Table: Concentration Checks DCs - Affected by a non-damaging spell while casting. Concentration Check DC is DC of the spell + spell level. PRD... Spell: If you are affected by a spell while attempting to cast a spell of your own, you must make a concentration check or lose the spell you are casting. If the spell affecting you deals damage, the DC is 10 + the damage taken + the level of the spell you're casting. If the spell interferes with you or distracts you in some other way, the DC is the spell's saving throw DC + the level of the spell you're casting. For a spell with no saving throw, it's the DC that the spell's saving throw would have if a save were allowed (10 + spell level + caster's ability score).

I'd rather work on rough edges now, with a limited group of people, rather than when the hoped for thousands pour in. We need to establish a culture now of how this will function for PFO, a culture that all major power blocs support, so that we can infuse this culture into players as they join. Any economy that forms now, in an environment with no PvP, would create an unfeasible model when PvP is later switched on because we've then trained all the players that gathering, caravans, etc. are all safe. That would in turn lead to mass-revolt from those that had grown to expect the safety. The grass will not grow if it trampled on over and over. It may learn to adapt, but will never thrive.
All of this is great, but what everyone here doesn't seem to realize is that this game does not have the current player base to support PvP. It has been implemented too soon. Economy and in-game function should be the focus while this game is still in "Beta." I understand, but dislike PvP, that it is necessary for game balance and do agree with that. However, this game cannot support it yet in all fairness. It should have been introduced with Open Enrollment. |
