Corridan seems to remain expressionless for a moment or two, quite possibly weighing his options. Finally he takes a deep breath and then lets out a sigh.
"Well, generally people find themselves in need of clothes," he says. "Even unsavory ones. So yes, I may know one or two who might fit that description. And I can indeed get in touch with them, see who is the better... err... candidate. Not to mention the more interested one."
He moves about his shop while thinking and talking before finally settling in a chair. It has been a long enough day after all.
"What would you like me to tell them? What information are you willing to share with me so that I may share with them? Or rather the one most suitable. No need to advertise this whole thing, I am sure." He shrugs. "After all, a person that actually... heh... ticks all the right boxes of yours, especially the discreet one, is probably not someone who will simply jump at the first mysterious job offer from a tailor."

Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
'This is... unusual,' Corridan ponders as the girl talks, at some point uttering an all too familiar phrase. 'And interesting.'
"You have a discerning eye, Ms. Staelish," he says casually, his tone that of the proper proffesional, as a little smile appears on his lips, its cause her last name and the almost hidden pun in its pronunciation. He approaches her -nonthreateningly, of course- and gently takes the spool of fabric from her hands, returning it to its place and carefully straightening out any creases.
"I was about to close up, but I am sure I can... linger a little longer for the Sheriff's...," the tailor goes on, his smile widening just a little at his play with words, and pauses for but a moment, as if trying to remember. Trying is the operative word. He knows what Cimri's relation to Rhona Staelish, Longacre's resident lawkeeper, is. "Niece, yes?" There is a subtle but distinctive Varisian accent in his voice, distinctive just enough to notice at least.
"Now," he finally says, apparently getting down to business, "I saw you looking at the silk. From Minkai, and of very fine quality. The finest in my store in fact." He takes a moment to look her up and down. "I could have it made into a soft scarf. It would complement that cloak of yours. Of elven make, I would wager. Quite distinct the elven fashion."
"Or a flowing dress." He allows the tiniest of smirks to tug at the left corner of his mouth. "Something with sleeves perhaps."
He makes no mention of the pass-phrase. Not that he has not heard it of course, taking into account Cimri's naming it as such specifically, as well as his initial reaction upon hearing it.
Not entirely sure if skill checks are needed, but I am assuming the following would be the most relevant.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

I contacted DM Jelani a little earlier with my decision, one not taken lightly but necessary nevertheless. I do readily admit that my timing sucks however, seeing as how Shinjuko is also withdrawing. Sorry, guys...
I tried to post this a little sooner, but the site seemed to play tricks on me. Still, here it is (it is the same message I sent to our wonderful DM).

Unfortunately I have decided to withdraw from the game. The reason is that I am reaching the final part of my medical internship and the exams are in a couple of months or three. That means that I have to study quite a bit, a fact which leaves me with much less time and energy than I had anticipated. Thus, I have to cut down on the number of games I am in. I really am sorry, but for the time being at least the dreariness of my studying takes precedence. :-(

"Well," Corridan says simply as he finds the beetle to be little more than smoke and mirrors, as the saying goes. "The creature is not real, merely an illusion," he calls out to the others, as he in turn takes heed of Devram's own warning. Still, the tailor moves towards the sound of spellcasting, if for no other reason than to investigate further.

Wasting no time and with Shinjuko having already taken care of alerting the rest of them, Corridan wastes no time, closing with the large creature and striking at it with his right fist.

As his wounds close courtesy of Penance's divine healing, Corridan breathes a sigh of relief and smiles. "Thank you," he says to the half-orc paladin, his words of gratitude accompanied by a little bow of his head. "It is really a shame that it does not work on fabric," he adds half-jokingly as he looks down at his clothes. "My attire is getting more and more ruined each day we remain on this island. I may be good witha needle and thread, but even I have my limits."

Quickly moving to flank one of the downed orcs, trying to avoid his outstretched arms, Corridan goes for a swift kick to his foe's head. After all, unconscious and on the ground is better than just on the ground but conscious.

Standing his ground despite the attack and subsequent wound, Corridan breathes deeply, first steadying himself and then unleashing a flurry of blows against the closest of the orcs. There is a not so brief moment as Corridan wakes up that he can feel the pain in his eyes, in his ears, in his mind. And during that moment, his mouth is open in a silent scream. It takes him a little while to realize that it was a dream and that he is now thankfully awake. And, looking down at himself, he realizes he is also thankfully dressed. Closing his mouth, he clears his throat, feeling it impossibly dry, and reaches for his waterskin.
"That... What...," is all he manages at first before taking a sip of water and then another. It takes several seconds before his characteristic composure returns and he manages to control the fear the dream caused, the fear and the revulsion. Still, that control is tenuous, as his hands holding the waterskin still tremble somewhat.

"Are you really going to allow your... bodyguard to ingest it now that we know it is not flammable, Mr. Krostumolis?" The tone behind the question belies the tailor's genuine curiosity and interest regarding the somewhat strange substance. "It could be poisonous after all."

"I am fine," Corridan says, dusting himself off. "They ignored me, not that it is a surprise. I could not hurt them, so why would they bother?" He turns his eyes towards Penance and then smiles thinly. "Unless the real reason is that they prefer their food in a can."

Chasing away his frustration at the creatures' resilience, Corridan takes but a moment to concentrate and center himself before unleashing another pair of strikes, the first one against the point where the beast's body seems to meet its head, hoping that it is vulnerable enough to perhaps incapacitate it for a few moments.

Abandoning his more defensive stance, seeing as how the strange creature appears entirely focused on Penance, Corridan continues to rain blow after blow on it. Still, between the beast's tough hide and unusual body, his strikes prove ineffectual. "What does it take to hurt them?" The question comes out revealing a little more frustration than he would have liked.

Quick to react, Corridan strikes at one of the creatures, specifically the one closest to him. His stance cautious and defensive, the tailor's left jab misses the strange beast, but his following right cross connects solidly with its soft flesh.
"Ugh...," he mutters, disgust rather evident on his expression.

Corridan has always prided himself on being an eloquent man. Certainly a man possessed of both a considerable control over his emotions and reactions, as well as a distinct, sometimes dry sometimes flippant, wit, if he does say so himself. Still, on this particular occasion all he can manage is, "Pardon?"
Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
Agreed on the exploration bit.
As for the magic items thing, I am slightly confused. What is Emerion crafting? An item for each of us (the one that we chose a few posts before, e.g. cloak of resistance +1 for Corridan) or an item plus a hat of disguise for each of us?

Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
Despite a puzzled expression that vanishes as quickly as it appears after Telemakos' words, Corridan nevertheless does as the gnome tells him, turning to the Khaan and translating, albeit with a little more eloquence than the summoner.
"Nws puas zoo li hais tias cov dab ntawd xwb kuj txaus siab nrog koj thiab koj teev, Khaan zoo kawg thiab. Thiab yuav ua li cas ces yog li, tus dab xwb xav kom koj yuav qhuab qhia nws cov lus, uas tej zaum koj yuav tau mus ncaj nraim rau nws thiab nws hais lus rau koj. Poj yawm, kuv paub tseeb."
"Well," he then says as he addresses Telemakos, the smile on his face never wavering as he does so, "you appear... agitated. More than usual, that is, if I may say so. I can only assume there is a bit more to your conversation than how lovely the elemental finds the worship and all that?"
I have to say, Telemakos is simply delightful!
Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
Smiling and bowing his head slightly to the gnome summoner, Corridan replies, "But of course, Mr. Krostumolis. I will be translating word for word." And indeed, the tailor does as he says, taking great care to use the exact words Telemakos uses, or at the very least their closest approximation in the Goblin tongue, while at the same time trying to convey the same tone of importance as his associate.

I will be leaving later today for a few days, meaning I will have no computer access until about Monday. I will give posting from my phone a try if I can connect to the internet, but even so, posts will be a bit on the brief side. Please DMPC Corridan as needed so as not to hold up the game.
Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6

Corridan will be going for a black hooded cloak of resistance +1. As a tailor, he could easily make the base item, meaning the mundane cloak, plus cloaks of resistance are usually a solid choice as far as magic items go anyway.
As for priority, he has no problem to wait his turn really. He realizes certain other members should take precedence.
Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
On the subject of magical items.
Corridan would probably be most interested in bracers of armor (a pair of bracers of armor +2 would mean that he could also use his monk AC bonus, thus making his mithral shirt more or less unnecessary), and a cloak of resistance is always useful. As far as offense goes, something to enhance his attacks, mostly the unarmed ones I think, would do nicely, such as an amulet of mighty fists and, eventually, a monk's robe. And for utility purposes, perhaps a vest of escape at some point.
And these are just off the top of my head...
Male Half-Elf Tailor; AC 14, touch 14, flat-footed 10, CMD 18; HP 10/10; Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +3; Initiative +6; Perception +5 (darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision), Sense Motive +6
So, is Penance going to be learning Goblin from Corridan or from the Khaan and his subject? Just curious, really. :-)
Furthermore, our friendly neighborhood tailor would not mind helping out Penance and Shinjuko in their attempts to teach the Khaan's people Orc, if for no other reason than to also learn Orc himself and to also see why one of them seemed to speak some form of Tien. And he would be only too happy to show them how to work fabric into clothing, by the way. ;-)

When Penance approaches him with the desire to learn to speak the language of goblins and hobgoblins, Corridan appears only too happy to accomodate him. "I have no problem helping you out, although I would ask something in return," the tailor says with a friendly smile, a bit of his own torn clothing in his hands. It appears the man has been trying to mend the damage inflicted by their new allies during the battle from the other day. "I would ask that, while I teach you Goblin, you teach me Orc. Fair enough, yes?"

"It seems they do not so much bury their dead. They... ahem... 'feed' them to the mountain," Corridan translates with a faint smile. "They consider it an honor, actually. And it would certainly make for an impressive send-off, I suppose."

Fine with me as well.
A question, by the way: Are we back to full hit points?

Taking a moment to look at the other Agents before answering and provided there are no objections, Corridan then turns back to the armored hobgoblin and nods in agreement, his answer spoken politely as is his usual way and in their new allies' language.

"Perhaps we -or rather you, all things considered- could take a step back and reconsider?" The tailor's voice is calm and controlled as is his usual tone, even if he makes no move to approach and physically separate the two men. "You are both tired, you are both on edge, I gather. Penance from the battle and its associated unpleasantness and Captain Hagebak from the rather sudden awakening and perhaps from missing out on the opportunity to lend a hand and defend the camp and his own crew," he ventures, although whether he actually believes his own words or not is not entirely clear. Still, his purpose is to placate and he tends to use whatever may work in such a situation.
"Penance," he addresses the half-orc, "the good Captain has simply been hired by the Consortium to help us and the organization. Is it not fair to perhaps consider that he has thought that the fighting is to be left to those more... skilled in it?"
"And Captain Hagebak," he then turns to the other man, "my fellow Agent fought in defense of this camp and the men in it -your own crew among them- and almost died doing it. Is his... exasperation that unreasonable?"
And then to both he adds with a sigh, "Has there not been enough bloodshed for one day? I, for one, am quite tired. Let us simply clear our heads and once rested and... ahem... sober, this can be discussed further, if there is still need for such a thing. And, if it comes down to it, you can kill each other then..."

When Corridan's turn comes, the tailor takes the bowl in his hands, smiles a thin little smile and takes a small sip, swallowing the liquid as fast as he can. The smile still on his face despite the unpleasantness of this particular task, he then turns to the Khaan and repeats the greeting in nigh perfect Goblin.

"Regardless," Corridan offers, nodding in agreement with Devram's estimation, "it bodes well that we seem to be coming to some understanding that does not include any immediate conflict, at least."
"Not that I am all that much in a hurry to face a dragon, of course," he adds in the end, a sigh accompanying his words. Still, he finds the Khaan's invitation at the very least interesting, if it is honest that is.
"Perhaps I could interest them in some choice clothing...," he mutters softly to mostly himself as he studies the Khaan seemingly for what his attire of choice might consist of, while at the same time studies his words and body language for any deception hiding behind his invitation.

Pretty much what Devram and Shinjuko have already said. I vote yes on the majority of the plan/proposal (such as being given time to prepare/scout/etc, as well as working out a deal about the land with the hobgoblins; the latter, though, we should perhaps, as our DM said, leave for when we actually manage to liberate said land from the dragon). I do vote no on the single combat idea though; if push comes to shove, I am sure we can find some solution on the more diplomatic side, rather than which side has the stronger head-basher... :-P

Devram Coates wrote: He shakes his head at Corridan's question. "Plenty of interest, but it's crowded in there enough. We don't need an arms race of who can have more at the negotiating table. Besides, I would need a translator for everything. No, someone should be out here to keep watch too. You can learn a lot about things when no one is paying attention." He gives the man a sidelong glance. "But I bet you already know that." "I am sure I am not sure what you mean by that," Corridan quips, his face expressionless despite his reply.
"They are indeed disciplined, much more so than their counterparts where we come from," the tailor agrees, his eyes still on their "guests". He does momentarily turn his gaze towards the tent the meeting is taking place, but quickly returns to his chat with Devram with a shrug. "Well, seeing how vehemently I disagree with being crashed, let us hope our negotiators manage to avoid such unpleasantness. Fighting can be so... uncomfortable, after all. Would you not agree, Mr. Coates?"

With Emerion speaking the language of the Khaan fluently and considering the man's diplomatic skills, Corridan chooses to remain outside the tent with Devram. Although a little uncharacteristic of the usually curious tailor, he thinks that it would perhaps do well if one of the translators remained outside in case any of the Khaan's entourage wished to speak with their new neighbors. Standing close to the half-elven swordsman, he joins his associate in getting a better look at the hobgoblins, all organized and disciplined as they appear to be.
"So, why did you not join the others in the tent? Not much interest in the negotiations?" The question is asked conversationally, though his eyes remain on the armored riders.

I should tell you that this week has been... tiring and will most probably continue to be so until about Tuesday with the next three or four days being spent away from my computer. I am not entirely certain whether I will be able to post until then, but I shall at the very least try.

After the night's rest, Corridan should be at 30/36 hit points, if I am not mistaken.

With Emerion taking up the translator's duty from him, Corridan politely excuses himself. "If it is all the same to you, I believe I will go seek someone with some healing skills to take a look at my wounds," he says softly, though not without wincing. "And perhaps also find some clothes that are not quite so ruinded," he adds with a little chuckle.
As he starts walking away, he turns his head back. "But do tell when the Khaan arrives. I would be very interested in being present during that meeting, I do admit."

"And may I add that I do not think he considers them friends," the tailor adds after a moment's pause. "There is suspicion behind his words when he refers to them."

"It is their God, it appears," Corridan calmly translates. "He also refers to something or someone called a 'Glass Scale'. Specifically, he says that it looks as if a 'Glass Scale' drew it and asks if we are servants of these 'Glass Scales'."
"Another group of this island's inhabitants perhaps? And if so, are they allies or enemies of our... friends here?"

I keep forgetting the taking 10 option. Very well, taking 10 it is.
