"I know that I said that we should get rid of the spellbook as soon as we can, but I think I am starting to take a liking to it." Corey says after hours of silence. "I know it is moldy and all, but there are still some very good spells in here that I would like to copy down." Clutching the book under his left arm, Corey looks down at it again. "Perhaps I could see if I could delve into what appear to be ruined pages to glean information."

As they enter the room, Corey stops in mid track and blinks several times "What in Desna's name..?" The elf says, inching closer to the wall. He appears to be somewhat distraught. "Is that my name written on the wall?", he thinks. Rubbing his eyes briefly he looks again to see nothing. When he realizes his strange behavior he straightens up a little and brushes it off. "Sorry about that, I thought I saw.. another haunt."

After looking at the spellbook for the entire duration of the battle, Corey folds the tome and puts it away in his pack, a blank look on his face. "Those weren't the most pleasant kind of undead I've ever seen."

Corey approaches the statue, standing next to Ad'ifaah to examine the "E". "I can try my best."
The elf tries his best to see if he can discern any magical properties of the new letter.

Corey stands next to Shol'a'saul and tries to aid her in her attempt to talk to the children. He too puts on a smile and tries his best to speak cheerily. "Indeed! We mean you no harm." As he says this, Paeter makes a brief appearance on Corey's shoulder to shake his whiskers in agreement. After reading through the files on the prison, Corey emerges from the archives to meet Abe. Relaying some of the history to the paladin, Corey shakes his head and attempts a joke. "That's all I was able to find out, really. It does not exactly sound like a tourist attraction, I'm afraid."
Male Elf Wizard 2
Nodding to Abe, Corey begins to head into the archives. "Alright, I am going to go take a look at the documents and see what I can uncover. I wouldn't be surprised if the professor had come here first as well." Once inside the Archives, Corey begins to search for books and begin reading the ones that he finds relevant. Corey, who had been more or less frozen during the encounter, suddenly snaps out of his daze with Paeter climbing his way out of the wizard's backpack and onto his shoulder. Realizing what happened, Corey suddenly begins to act in a more animated fashion. "Nice job, everyone. I don't know how you let those things get that close to you. I certainly do not.. I do not like bugs." Turning back to the caché of goods, Corey begins gathering up the scrolls, leaving the arrows to

Corey, who had been quiet for the entire journey over, steps up now to the opened sarcophagus next to Aeleanor. "I am pretty good with a bow myself," the elf begins, not quite looking at Aeleanor "but you're probably better.." Corey looks over the items, squinting in the darkness despite having darkvision. "Miss Kendra, I will begin to honor your father's will and stay here for one month, but I must ask if you mind pets..?" As he says this, Paeter pokes his head out of Corey's backpack that is now resting on the floor besides his chair. Corey rubs his thumb under his chin at the reading of the journal. At the mention of the "Whispering Way", the elf racks his brain for any mentions of it of the readings he did over the years. Knowledge, Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

When it is Corey's turn to speak, he lifts his bowed head only slightly to speak. "I met Lorrimar when I stopped a wild animal from attacking him before he saw it. It really wasn't the most impressive feat, but.. He was kind enough to return the 'favor' and took me off from the streets and helped put me through the Academae. Even though it's been several years since I saw him last, I really do owe him everything I have now." Before stepping down, Corey faces the professor's daughter. "Your father will truly be missed, my lady."
Male Elf Wizard 2
Corey, who had remained quiet during the entire confrontation, is in firm denial that the professor had anything to do with necromancy. "This just simply cannot be true. When I was trying to decide what school of magica to focus me time he advised me against necromancy." At the councilman's words, Corey is silently surprised, the only indication being that his eyebrows raise slightly. Lorrimar never mentioned any of those interests.. Looking around at the group of strangers again he sighs. How little I really did know about him.

Corey looks around, his uneasiness starting to fade once Aerys begins to speak to him. "Well, I do not know how well the rest of you knew Professor Lorrimar, but he helped me a great deal when I was younger." Wringing his hands slightly, Corey continues. "He is the reason I was able to learn the arcane arts. I had not seen him in some time now - I have been quite busy in my studies and as you know he traveled a great deal.." Corey stops when Lady Lorrimarr approaches out of respect, nodding silently when she introduces the others. He remains quiet once the drunken man appears and the peculiar drow begins speaking.

Making his way past the cemetery gates, Corey walks onto the grounds with his hands in his trouser pockets and his head down. It isn't until he is nearly to the site that he notices that there are other people already gathered around. Halting for a moment as he scans the crowd to see no one he recognize. Letting out a soft sigh, the elf continues to make his way to the group until he is standing amongst the strangers. Inside his mostly empty backpack there is a slight stir only observable to someone looking closely. Seeing the others introduce themselves, Corey tries to search for the right words to say. "Are you all here for.. the Professor..?" Realizing the foolishness of the question, Corey tries to continue with an introduction. "My name is Corey. Corey Magoon. The professor, he.." Corey pauses, thinking about his relationship with Lorrimar. ".. I owe nearly everything I have to that man." At this point, the weasel, clearly interested in the sounds of another animal nearby, pokes his head out of the elf's backpack to display his brown face to the people gathered at the funeral.
Hello, I am Aeleanor Asaaru's friend that was mentioned earlier. This is the wizard class that I was playing with a little. I am relatively new at PbP and D&D in general, so I am welcome to feedback in all respects. I haven't gotten a chance to flesh out Corey's story yet. Trying to think of things that aren't too cliché. |
