Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

The monk, who's human eyes were the least suited down here was holding a torch in his left hand and now raised it higher. He tried to make out who was standing in front of them. He also tried to not get the torch wet.

Linguistics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Sign:
"I don't know. But it does sound orcish."

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

I'm not sure about ini. I charged and jumped in round 1 and attacked (post above) in round 2. I don't think we're in round 3 already?

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Response to first round:
The Dark Creeper tries to attack Chao with his dagger, but the monk's flowing moves make it difficult for the enemy to stay on his feet.
Redirection Trip, immediate action: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 2 = 17
Chao's dance however doesn't impress the Creeper.

next round, Chao attacks
Chao tries to drop the Creeper that attacked him.
Flurry, Trip: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 - 2 = 31
With the Creeper on the ground, Chao spin-kicks him in the head to make him dizzy.
AoO vs prone: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 + 4 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 DC 15 Reflex, or flat-footed until the end of the flowing monk’s next turn

He then turns to the one standing next to his prone enemy and in a single move tries to flip this one to the ground as well.
Flurry, Trip: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 - 2 = 13
But fails.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

did my move-jump work? should I move my token in their midst?

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Ini: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Chao runs through his allies and towards the enemies behind the barricade. In a surprising move, he takes off and flies over the barricade landing in the middle of the enemies.

Jump over wall and enemy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 DC 10 for distance, DC 20 for 5 feet high. Is 5 feet high enough? If not, I can use Ki for another +8

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao instinctively moves between the source of the sound and Shontar, shielding his friend.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao follows Kain closely. The cavalier's careful slow speed seems to annoy him a little. But he's got enough composure to not just overtake the general.

nitpicking: total defense is a combat action. combat action can only be done in combat. fluff-wise you can't defend against a non-existing enemy.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

since there are no more enemies on the top of the stair, CHao keeps on running.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao double move again and positions himself inbetween the first two enemies on the top of the stairs.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Ini: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Just as he returned to the party, he had to get back up there. How did I miss them?
Chao double moves up the stairs 60 feet.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao raises his hand, a common signal for a party to stop. Without making any noise, he sprints up the stairs towards the balcony. After a few meters he stops and looks around (Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17).
When he doesn't notice anything unsual, he continues and his running increases to an unnatural speed. Spending 1 Ki point to add 20ft.

Up on the balcony he artistically (Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24) dances towards the ring-circlet thing, pulls it from the wall and runs back down again.

Back at the group who has been watching his careless solo and acrobatics with a mixtrue of awe and anger, he stops in front of Bashuk. With a deep bow he hands her the treasure.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao comes over to his friend and reaches out with his hand to pull him up.
On Shontar's request he nods fast several times as if he would totally agree with Shontar's claims. And someone who can read people, would think Chao truely believes that.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao is no rocking a nice 26 AC plus 1 for each adjacent enemy. Let them come :)

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Earlier
When the party entered the dark fortress, unobserved from everybody, Chao draws a small wooden stick, most likely a magic wand from under his robes. everyone noticing will wonder what the monk would need this for, but it becomes clear very quickly. Presenting the wand like a gift, he walks towards Valeska and nows deeply. Then he makes some simple hand gestures and she quickly realizes what he wants. By touching the wand she recoginzes its magic and uses one charge on Chao before returning the wand.
Mage Armor

now
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Chao recongnizes the luring threat, too, apparently. Everyone in the back row can suddenly see his skin transform. A wood shell grows rapidly where his hairless skin used to be giving him a very natural outlook, almost like one of these tree person from the stories.

spending 1 Ki to cast Barkskin for +3 natural armor

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

It was obvious that Shontar was talking more than actually looking around. His friend's hyperactivity distracted Chao, too, who tried to calm the Elf down.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

At Shontar's swaggering, Chao reacts with a silent but obvious face-palm. The monk is seemingly embarrased about his friend.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao appeared to be observing carefully the opposition and made no movements be himself, except those from his horse that he doesn't seem to becontrolling perfectly well.

When Valda addresses him, he looks at her with a questioning face and shakes his head in a clear no-I-don't-movement.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao was quite as ever, watching the newcomers thoroughly. His observations were hidden behind a friendly smile. A smile that was almost a grin, almost unnatural wide. But his eyes stayed sharp.

He listened to Gargan without understanding the orc tongue. But he was skilled in reading mimics and gestures and judged the orc's intent.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Chao was almost certain that Gargan was not betraying them, unless the orc was a trained deciever, which was unlikely. He gave a confirming nod to Shontar.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

As Shontar was rising his crossbow, ready to shoot, Chao reached out with his arm and softly lowered the crossbow down.
Chao wasn't a man of violence and naively believed in the good of everything. He only killed in self-defense and would never take the first hit. He expected the same from his master.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao responds signing that the orc's Taldane may be flawed and he just meant simple alcohol.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

"I'm not sure about the story of the dwarfen gold hord. No proof."

Chao silently conversed to Shontar.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao nods, while still standing embarassed in th corner for making such a noise and mess.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Embarassed by his mishap, Chao tries to get back up on his feet. Hoping the others are now following him, as they heard both him crashing through the floor and the gobling screaming, he stalled and didn't look at the frightened goblin.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao was not a man of violence, but he knew Goblins could be a menace. He'd try to subdue him quick and nonlethally.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao signs a rather lengthy text to Shontar.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao nodded eagerly, when Valeska informed them of her plans. That Miss Kindler seems to be a useful help rgarding the orc threat to the west and he wanted peace more than anything.

He told his thoughts to Shontar who's mind seemed absent.

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Chao judges the old woman in the apothecary and notices her request for arthritis remedies. Knowing what they're for, he takes a closer look at her movements, as she might need assistance with her failing joints. If so, he'd quickly jump to her help.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
"The sheriff is nervous with regards to the proprietor." Chao signs to Shontar, alerting his oblivious friend.

Chao, who had never signed up for anthing, was a man of strict order after all and had a strong sense righteousness. He had suggested to visit the countries borders and check if the maps available are still up to date. He also wanted the people living in the outskirts to know that a new rulers have been put to power and new laws might be coming there way.

Shontar agreed to the journey immediately. It was of his own interest, to find out, who lived near and beyond their county's borders.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

that's exactly the same as the fireball damage :)

Chao's face and posture immediately relax and he starts eating slightly faster. The pain is no longer hindering his appetite.

While sitting in the common room, enjoying a much needed dinner, Chao's face is still in pain. One wouldn't even notice, because of his silence, but he's not keeping a straight face.

anyone got some healing?

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

With a long jump, he tries to kick the undead in his legs and twist it around so that it lands away from Kain and closer to the approaching allies.

Tian Flowing Monk 6 | HP: 53| AC: 26 FF 20 T 21 (+1 per adjacent)| Fort: +8 Ref: +10 Will: +9 | Perception: +12| Init: +4

Chao looks up the tower and wonders if this is dangerous to climb up there. He tries to judge the tree's facial expressions and gestures. Is he worried about his companion?
