Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

If any of you need gold for food I could help. The horses hopefully come with the food.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

I think I'm ready to head out, Cedric has plenty of gold for food.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric finds the taste of the cake savory, he enjoys every bite of the small round cake. When he finishes the cake Cedric turns to look at Zindelo "It is alright Zindelo, for I should be able to purchase some of the necessary goods myself. If we pool our money we can buy even more."

Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
What the hey? XD

"If we are going to the market we should be careful. There is a certain gang that hangs out in the middle of the day near the market. If they don't recognize us we could be in trouble."

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Well I'm back, it'll take me a awhile to read the posts, but after I have then I'll jump back in.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Today marks the first day I'll be away. If I have a chance I'll log in and post. Indraea you could run my character and his resposes. Until Sunday, good bye and happy hunting.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric glances towards Dove as she mentions that the group already has two horses. He metaphorically kicks himself for forgetting.
"Of course the horses will be well cared for. I myself own a steed, I raised him from a foal. He once caught a case of chillbane shakes, I stayed up with him all night to make sure he was ok. And Dove cares for a creature herself, those two are inseperable.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

The areas of potions, and geography aren't up Cedric's ally so he runs through an inventory of what he has packed onto Asfaloth. (In his mind of course)

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

"I do believe that can be arranged. We would certinly give you first choice of land at the new settlement. Weither it be at the beach or more inland. But, my companions and I would like to ask for something in return. We wish to request horses for travel and some menial supplies. Most of the supplies would be food for ourselves and the horses, along with a few potions and elixirs to keep our health up during the trip." Once again Cedric looks to his companions in case they have anything to add.

While waiting for his companions to finish speaking Cedric takes some more sips of the tea.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric grabs his tea and takes a sip, noting that this is probably the best tea he has ever had.
"Thank you for hosting us Lord Kaijitsu, it is truly an honor to finally meet you. I am sorry to hear about Lord Valdemar's condition." Cedric takes a sip of tea Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
"I am also sorry to hear that the Deverins and Scarnettis are feuding. The news that your wife is due soon is magnificent. As I wish you could have joined us in our expedition, I fully respect and applaud your wishes to remain here with her.

Our plan is to settle on the Lost Coast we have knowledge of an inlet with ruins that would be a good place to start a village. We hope to set up the village as a port, the land is fertile and needs to be farmed. The main problem we might run into is that of Goblins. We will clear the land of the menace and start construction of the village. I believe the group wishes to leave at the first possible moment."
As Cedric finishes he looks towards the other members of the group in case he missed anything.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Could we visit Foxglove manor possibly receive payment for clearing the house while on our way to the lost coast. And possibly come across a caravan to buy some things like Antitoxins. ;)

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Just a heads up, starting this Thursday and going till Sunday I probably won't post. I will be extremely busy.

Spoiler:
Gencon what what!!!

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric waits for the ladies to go out the door first before he steps outside himself. After they are all outside Cedric follows Jubal. The houses in the noble district are all quite impressive to Cedric. Thinking to himself, Cedric hopes that he can own a house like these once he is older (and richer).

Upon arriving at lord Kijitsu's estate Cedric gives the guards a quick scan, noting the weapons and armor they bear. Once inside Cedric enjoys the beauty of the mansion, especially the pond and rock garden.

As Tsutamu apporachs and bows Cedric will do the same. When Tsutamu, Jubal, and Zindelo remove their shoes Cedric starts to remove his boots. The rest of the group get's further ahead of him because he must undo each strap to get his boots off. Finally Cedric catches up, not noticing the library. Cedric lays his shield down behind himself before sitting down with the others to wait for lord Kaijitsu.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric stares at the ground for a moment and puts his hand under his chin. "Maybe we could offer him a piece of land on the coast. Somewhere he could set up a trading post, or an inn. We could offer him first choice of land. I don't think any of us besides master Jubal would be able to offer anything monetarily."

Cedric looks around for his sword and spots it behind a door. He grabs it and prepares to leave Jubal's house with the rest of the group.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

If we are jumping scenes than Zindelo and I would most likely tell the group that we need to buy at least a little something for Lord Kaijitsu.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric washes his face while Jubal is changing. He also grabs a rag and goes over his shield with it, trying to get some dirt off the side.

Knowlege (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 To see if Cedric can decipher lord Kaijitsu's custom of gift giving, or if he can figure out what a Tian lord might enjoy for a gift.

"Better safe than sorry. Unless one of us happens to know the gift giving custom of Tian Xia it's better if we leave things be."

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric gives Dove a slight smile and a nod as she mentions him.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Cedric also picks up that Arduinne isn't saying everything. Cedric figures that she will open up to the group eventually, so he let's it slide.
Dove and I crit? I hope the rest of the game goes like this!

Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Cedric already knew some of this, but every little bit helps.

Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Cedric keeps the latter to himself, but must ask a question. "Master Breakbottle, your father and his brothers were skilled in the art of Illusions. Are you also skilled in this?"

"Miss Dove might be on to something, if we don't have enough horses then a Yak could work."

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

After Master Jubal leaves to change Cedric looks towards the rest of the group"Alright, it looks like we have a plan. I also agree we shouldn't waste our time. But it couldn't hurt to explore the shops on the way."

After Zindelo finishes Cedric stands, looks around, and begins speaking.
"Well it seems we don't know much about each other, so I'll go next. I grew up in Taldor, my family was well to do and we lived in the village of Heldren. One evening our home was attacked by a pack of roaming goblins, myself and my family would have been slain if not for Lan Cornoth. Lan charged in and slew the goblins, scareing most of them off. Lan was a knight you see, he once served as one of the King's guards. That night I knew what my calling was. It is an honor in my land to become a knight, so my family let me go. Lan took me under his wing and trained me. He taught me how to swing a sword, ride a horse, and how to dance better than a Dervish. I also know how to sing.

After Lan found me fit for duty I enlisted in the Talden army. I was soon called into my officers office, he told me I had been transferred to Magnimar to protect the Lord-Mayor. That was three years ago, so here I am."

Cedric chuckles to himself. "Hehehe in my three years of staying in Magnimar, this is by far the most interesting group I have come across." Cedric reaches for a glass of wine and downs it in one gulp.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

"Oh I agree whole heartedly about exploring the ruins miss Dove." Cedric's tries to give a reassuring grin.

Turning towards miss Ayame "We can easily find the time to meet Lord Kaijitsu. I have none." Hearing the purr from the tiger along with Dove's request Cedric can't help to flash a grin.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

+1 for Doves idea

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Any chance one of us happens to own a ghost touch weapon? :P

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

"Alright, at least we have a place to start. Great idea Zindelo." Cedric gives an approving nod towards Zindelo.

Cedric looks to Dove. "Dove, I don't believe the area will be infested with demons. As Jubal said they are usually bound to their location. At most we might come across one, depending how many goblin tribes are in the area. Also a word of advice, don't write anything in the presence of goblins. They believe writing steals the soul, so they might be drawn to one target if they see any of you writing.
Also, berrys are good, any fruit or vegetable would aid us in the long run."

As Miss Ayame enters Cedric stands and bows towards the newcomer. After Ayame finishes her statement Cedric answers. "Miss Ayame thank you for the message from your lord. We would be more than honored to join him for tea. And his decision to stay at home is completely understandable, for I would do the same if in his position. We would gladly discuss our plans with your master. As master Jubal said, when does Lord Kaijitsu wish us to join him?" Cedric like Zindelo, yields the conversation back to Jubal.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric finishes his sandwich and continues to listen to the conversation. At the mention of healing, Cedric remembers that he past a small stand claiming to sell "life-saving" elixirs. If need be (and if they have enough money) they can pick up a few on the way out of town. "Well I feel a little more at ease knowing that several of you have experience at the art of healing."

At the mention of hunting Cedric perks up, it had been several years since he had enjoyed fresh venison. "Dove is it? If need be I could assist with the hunting. Asfaloth and I can scare up the game if you and Gaia can dispatch it."

With the mention of money Cedric thinks about how much gold he has left. Looking back on it all he wishes he was able to save up a little more to bring on this adventure. Cedric listens intently of what the group says about the Foxglove estate. "If the Foxglove estate is close and Traver agrees to let us search his house. Then I would vote we go there first. We could use a bit more gold to cover our trip to the Lost Coast.

"I myself do not know anyone in the docks, I mostly stay near The Lord-Mayors house. Not venturing further than the town square.

Hearing about the hell spawn Cedric straightens up in his chair and a dark look comes over his face. "Demons? I agree with Zindelo, fighting a demon is unwise. Until our group is in more of a position to deal with the demon kind."

"There is no doubt about needing a harbor. Ships can carry much larger loads than caravans can. And in less time."

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

I ran a Cthulhu campaign once where I would go into lavish details about the food. It got to the point that if I forgot, the players would ask for me to describe what they were eating. (Lots of bacon)

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric stands outside Jubal's house admiring the fine craftsmanship. After taking in the sight of Breakbottle manor Cedric follows the rest of the group inside the house. Once inside Cedric asks for a place to set his shield and sword. The butler offers to take the items.

Once in the Drawing room Cedric admires the many instruments Jubal has collected. Cedric is glancing through a book titled "Interview with a Dhampir" when Jubal finally walks in the Drawing room. "Absolutely beautiful house you have here master Jubal. Thank you for hosting us here."

Setting the book aside Cedric turns his full attention to Jubal.
"Antitoxin would be just the thing. I have had to use it myself a couple of times, it works miracles. Traver Foxglove you say? Hmmm, sounds interesting enough. I'm up for it."

When the footmen arrive Cedric realizes his hunger (he had missed breakfast to clean his armor). Taking a sandwich and a glass Cedric try's his best not to wolf down the nourishment. As he eats he waits to hear what the others say.

Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 to check and see if I know anything about Foxglove.

Downton Abby is one of my favorites!

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric would never! (Zindelo might :P)
The slight hand wave of food is very much appreciated.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

"Zindelo it is. And I did not mean a secret place, it is merely the place I go when the bustle of the city gets to me."

Cedric turns to Jubal "Master Jubal your offer is very kind, thank you."

A long sigh escapes Cedric's lips at Arduinne's comment.

Cedric follows Zindelo and Jubal.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric steps forward from the group and gives a final bow to the Lord-Mayor, he then steps backwards towards the group.

Cedric' thinks to himself "Ogres? Great... That should be fun..."

Hearing Zindelo's suggestion Cedric's mind goes over places they could have a meeting at. "Sir Zindelo if I may. If it is private you want, then I have the place. Near the Lord-Mayor's estate there is a stable. It is where I keep my horse Asfaloth, if we want no ears to overhear our plan that might be a good place.

"I would think Kaijitsu should be our last stop out of the city. We can supply ourselves the needed rations and other items from within the city. But let us talk about this more once we are in a quiet spot."

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 to check and see if anyone is listening in to their private conversation. He would note it and tell it to the others once they are in a quiet place.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Looking at Zindelo "The honor is mine. Do not worry Zindelo, I will try my utmost to make sure no harm befalls you or the group. If anything happens retreat behind myself and guard the rest of the group." Cedric notices something strange about the scarf Zindelo is wearing. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Cedric notes that Zndelo's scarf might not be a normal scarf.

Giving a slight bow to Jubal "Thank you master Breakbottle."

After hearing what Dove said Cedric turns to her and her tiger. "Oh yes! Now I remember you. I am glad to hear of your success, I am happy I could help."

Turning towards the last member of the group. "Miss Winterbourne was it? Quite a lovely name. I am happy to make your acquaintance.

I like it

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@Dove thanks!
@GM aww sad face :(
Also one quick question, how do you want us to figure up our animal companions HP?

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@all players and GM
This is my first experience with a PBP and I was wondering. How do I use the dice roll thing on this site? I have tried it before but it didn't work, any help would be appreciated.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

Cedric arrives at the square escorting The Lord-Mayor inside. After giving a look around to the various activies going on around him Cedric steps in the Justice Court. Once inside Cedric stands next to a man with unkept hair and a elderly Gnome whom he recognizes as Jubal Breakbottle. Cedric decides to make small talk with Jubal about the weather, and soon realizes that there is a scuff mark on one of his boots. He reaches down to brush it off before anyone notices. After bending down to scrape the scuff off his boot Cedric stands up straight and adjusts his shield in front of himself.

After hearing the Lord-Mayor's presentation Cedric thinks of a few questions.
" Your honor, what sort of land will we be taking from the pesky goblin kind? I know the scum enjoy the company of swamps and other dark places. But what sort of place is this Lost Coast?
Also sire, if I may. What other "cretins" could we expect from the depths of this uninhabited land?"

Upon the signing of the charter Cedric turns towards his fellow companions to greet them. "Ah Master Breakbottle, I believe we met at one of The Lord-Mayor's parties. I am Cedric Stavian, Knight protecter of the Lord-Mayor, his family and household." Cedric gives a small bow to Jubal and then introduces himself to the rest of the party by giving a bow then saying "Greetings I am Cedric Stavian, Knight protecter of The Lord-Mayor and your companion on this trip. I pray to Iomedae we have a swift trip and easy victory over the goblin fiends that haunt the land." Cedric notices one of the women looks familiar.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@GM Let's hope I live that long. :P
I was thinking of going 5 levels of Cavalier, 5 levels of Battle Herald, then back to Cavaler. Also would you rule the human favorited class bonus works while taking levels of Battle Herald?

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@Jubal Respect would have been his main focus. He would at least know of your past and most likely go out of his way to greet you.

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@Jubal that's a good idea. I would have been one of the guards at the event. So there is a good chance I have meet you. Is your character a prankster like other gnomes?

@ GM and other players - I am trying to think of the future of Cedric stat wise, how does the Battle Herald archetype sound to you all?

Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1

@Dove I was thinking about how to add into character interactions. How do you like this? When Dove wandered into Magnimar low on funds, Cedric had just newly arrived as well. Cedric saw the dingy woman walking into town and he thought she was a beggar, so he gave her some gold to cover a couple of days of food.
