Just remember, no stealing the Breakbottle family cutlery to pawn off for provisions.

Cedric would never! (Zindelo might :P)
The slight hand wave of food is very much appreciated.
I rather quite enjoy being really descriptive of food when the party/GM are amenable to it, and will even itemize my rations at times, but I'm not so crazy as to not tone it down for others.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1
I ran a Cthulhu campaign once where I would go into lavish details about the food. It got to the point that if I forgot, the players would ask for me to describe what they were eating. (Lots of bacon)

I switched some of Dove's gear around. The big problem was that I still had a shield for some reason despite using a two-handed weapon. As such, I tossed it out and switched Dove's armor from Light Wooden to Medium Hide to cushion the AC lose. All in all, that got me 12 gp back. I hope that is alright.
@Dove- You haven't left town, or even described yourself as carrying a shield yet, so I will permit it for now, but you'd better be happy with things now.

@Indraea: Thank you very much! Everything is in order now.
Speaking of gear, Indreaea. The Scion feat gave Jubal a horse, but he had to buy a riding kit to make it useful. Would it be too much to ask for the furnished horse from daddy come with a riding kit? 16 gp & 54 lb.
thanks
Indraea
Can you put your map in the Campaign Info tab or better yet in the campaign description, so it is linked below where it names you as GM?
Also, Magnimar is on your map, so some of those hexes should be reasonably scouted and settled, right? Could you highlight civilization and our target hexes?
Maybe add Foxglove Manor when we get directions?
thanks
I'll add some extra details to the map later this evening after I've had dinner and such.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that the group will want to head off to Foxglove Manor first in order to start building funds. While Dove expressed caution about it, she was not against the idea and will go with the group.
Foxglove Manor might be a good place to head to first, especially since you'd have to pass by it anyway.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1
Any chance one of us happens to own a ghost touch weapon? :P

bump
@Cedric- Pretty sure none of you have any magical weapons. But who knows what you might find in the wild?
@Jubal- Oops, sorry for missing that bit. Hmm, that's probably quite fine, since the value of the trait diminishes over time anyway as you acquire more wealth, and it would be kind of silly for a highborn adventurer to own a horse but not a saddle.

Other than waiting for Foxglove's reply, can anyone think of anything else we should do before heading over? At least to me, this feels like a great transition point to hop to the next "scene" so to speak. The group has a good location to scout out and a shopping list to assemble, so now they just have get everything together in order.

Jubal will change back into his Parade Armor for the show... meeting

There are a number of shops in the Alabaster District, but they're all by appointment only, and antitoxin isn't something in high demand among Magnimar's nobility. Your best bet is probably the Bazaar of Sails down in the Dockway district, but you wouldn't have a minute to spare for haggling before you had to make your way back up and over to Naos for your appointment to have tea with Lord Kaijitsu.
Hey everyone, was out all day running errands. Going over the posts and will get a post up shortly.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Anything else we need to do before departing?
You're probably just fine. And remember, the absolute worst thing that could happen to the party is having to slog along on foot.
(Well, that or accidentally trip into Lord Kaijitsu, knocking him back against something sharp, killing him, thus getting you all sent to The Hells for murdering a nobleman...)
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Well, in that case, how does everyone feel about moving to the next scene?
Dove Starstrider wrote: Well, in that case, how does everyone feel about moving to the next scene? +1
Indraea, please focus on the game pace. Your players have shouldered most of the pace to start introducing ourselves and getting organized. We need your story in order to react at a good pace. Otherwise, interest and players wane.
thanks

If we are jumping scenes than Zindelo and I would most likely tell the group that we need to buy at least a little something for Lord Kaijitsu.
If we want to buy a gift, then let's buy something for the infant along the way over there. Let's decide how much we are spending each: 1,2,5,10 gp each for a 5,10,25,50 gp. I think less is better, because it's the thought that counts.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
I have 12 gp left over. Given the options, I say 2 gp.
Let's speed things along then. Are you all in agreement on purchasing a gift?
If we can and it doesn't defeat the purpose. And we need to move, to get something and get there will take time, we do not have resources to shop in this district. I suspect nothing would be ruder than being late.
I just realized that my last sentence was completely ambiguous. I meant by it that being late would be more rude than not having gifts.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Given the pressed time frame, Dove has proposed an alternative solution.
Male Human (Half-Chelaxian/Half-Scarzni) Wizard (Diviner) 1
I really want to see how Indraea does the map. Nice to see you all are about to set out.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Based on what has been said and given the time constraints on shopping, it looks like we're just going to offer a favor as a gift. If anyone has any other ideas, I am more than willing to hear them.
Gah, stupid all-day site outage. Was all set to go and get things moving along and then 404.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1
Just a heads up, starting this Thursday and going till Sunday I probably won't post. I will be extremely busy.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
Heads up from my end too. Since I am traveling half way across the country, my posting ability will probably be highly spotty from Saturday to Tuesday.
That's fine. I meant to have a post up yesterday evening, but that didn't end up happening. Will have one up shortly.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1
Could we visit Foxglove manor possibly receive payment for clearing the house while on our way to the lost coast. And possibly come across a caravan to buy some things like Antitoxins. ;)
Cedric Stavian wrote: Could we visit Foxglove manor possibly receive payment for clearing the house while on our way to the lost coast. And possibly come across a caravan to buy some things like Antitoxins. ;) That's the plan.
Indraea, please don't forget Jubal sent a message to he Foxglove fellow inviting him to Breakbottle Estate.
cheers
I suspect that Lord Foxglove will want the ring back before tendering payment, but there may indeed be a caravan or a hermit out there.
Male Human (Talden) Cavalier 1
Today marks the first day I'll be away. If I have a chance I'll log in and post. Indraea you could run my character and his resposes. Until Sunday, good bye and happy hunting.
My apologies for not getting a post up yesterday. I'll have something up later today. And I'm sure Cedric will be fine for the next few days unless the party rushes straight for the most goblin-infested part of the Lost Coast.
Female Aasimar (Angel-Blooded) Druid (Menhir Savant) 1
I agree with Jubal. From a narrative perspective and for the sake of time, we are in a good position to fast forward again.
That was my plan. Hopefully we've got just one last detour and then off to the Lost Coast, unless you all have something in mind beyond talking to young Lord Foxglove about his family estate.
I'd like one last short shopping spree just before we take off. With horses to bear the load there are a few things the party could use, if we have the coin for it. I will suggest the items in character but jumping first to the Foxglove visit is good.
Sure. After the narrative to get the Foxglove mission and directions, we should do some last minute shopping via Discussion thread to accelerate toward the Coast...
If it's preferred to have the shopping done out of character I'm okay with that.
Female Human (Chelaxian) Sorcerer 1
Yeah, I'd rather just gloss over getting the extra supplies and going on our way.
Zindelo has one gem worth 10 GP because Varisians like small valuables over coin. One gp and a few silvers. He'll toss it all in the pot for buying supplies. He cannot carry more weight without slowing down and he wants to be quick on his feet.
His suggestions are:
Basic
Grappling hook
Extra rope, the heavy cheap stuff but a lot of it. You can never have too much rope.
A spade or shovel-more useful than you think.
Extra bags, large and small to take samples.
Extra rations, less foraging to slow us down.
Special
Yardstick or two for measurements and knotted measurement rope: even without expensive survey equipment it's possible to get a reasonably accurate survey done. Two knotted ropes, one for water work (depth measure) even better. (The knots are the same distance apart as the "yardstick"). Full survey equipment is way too expensive.
Bonus:
A shallow box and some very small bags. Use it to build a physical map box. Good present for Lord Kaijitsu.
I'm guessing around 30 GP or so.
