I want to double check my understanding of the intimidation skill, especially the demoralize option, as combat is about to happen and i will be utilizing this BBEG 6th level sorceress
relevant feats
relevant skill points Bluff: +6 skill points
Relevant spell in effect: eagles splendor +4 enchantment bonus to cha the bbeg does have the trait extremely fashionable, but is currently drenched in the lifeblood of the latest victim. as per the rules, this is negated. So, the math pans out as cha: 24 Bluff: +6 (skill ranks) +3 class bonus +3 feat, +7 attribute bonus = +19 total
so, if i want to make an intimidate check, i roll a 1d20+18. now, here is where id like the double check. round 1: standard action: intimidate skill use. roll 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30, DC 17. Hopefully i exceed the target by 5 or more. now, the PC will have minimum one round of the shaken condition. they act, with negatives applied. round 2: Due to having the 2nd tier damnation feat, i am able to use intimidate again, but this time, if i exceed the DC 17, i can chose to either lengthen the shaken condition, or i can increase the condition from shaken to frightened (DC 17), or if my roll is high enough, jump to panicked (DC 22). 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35 does the effects of the conditions stack? each one says a -2 to attacks rolls (etc) is applied, so if a character is hit with the panicked condition, does that mean they suffer a -6 to attack rolls (etc)? or does it stay at -2, but they are forced to flee and what not?

hey guys. sorry for not posting. my boss was in an accident last thursday, and since i am the only other person on hand capable of doing his job, i am now doing so. So this has cut into my lunch hour, and my dinner time, so i have next to no time for postings. I am sorry. hopefully he is back within 2-3 weeks, and my work load will lessen, perhaps then we can pick this back up. but until then, i cannot...sorry.

As for gabboge.. whats your point? You felt it necessary to inject your opinion into my recruitment? Now i could validate your posting if you would have said " this is so easy, ill make a 14th level guy and beat it". But you didnt. So i ask you kindly to go post your opinion in another part of the boards and let me recruit people who want to throw down with a tarrasque.
hmmmm...an incorporeal Tarrasque... thanks for the idea, gorden! when using the retrain ability, you cannot swap out a feat that is a prereq feat for another feat. Id like to start this show next monday, if not sooner depending on submissions. submissions so far:

Guns ok
1) init is done differently. yes, if are able to, you can choose the battlefield
Hi there! have you ever wanted to battle a Tarrasque? Do you dream of taking down that Great Red Wyrmm? What about bringing down Elminster a peg or three? I know i have.
character creation guidelines:
how to properly spend your gold:
For a balanced approach, PCs that are built after 1st level should spend no more than 25% of their wealth on weapons, 25% on armor and protective devices, 25% on other magic items, 15% on disposable items like potions, scrolls, and wands, and 10% on ordinary gear and coins. Different character types might spend their wealth differently than these percentages suggest; for example, arcane casters might spend very little on weapons but a great deal more on other magic items and disposable items. 2 traits max hps per level anything from the pathfinder srd website is allowed. ( i only ask that you hyperlink feats and unique items/abilities to make it easier for me and other party members to find. If it is not hyperlinked, then it is not applied to your PC). ***exceptions to the anything rule***
wishes and the manuals/tomes
i am sure that you will have questions, so feel free to ask. i will try to answer when i can, but i hope to get this rolling by next monday.

Bruhma is up with all of you, having been roused by Willow. He eats his food and then steps away from the group for a few minutes. When he comes back, he says simply.
Looking at everyone for a moment, he continues
leaping up on his horse, he says simply
With that, he turns his horse and bolts out of the copse of trees, his horse thundering the way you all just rode the night before.

Bruhma calls out, Ho! Willow! glad you found the location. Our friends here and I have traveled through the night and pushed ourselves hard. Please, stand watch while we catch our sleep. Wake us all in 4 hours. With that, bruhma lays down and closes his eyes, sleeping the moment his head hits the ground.

Great. I am glad to see everyone is on board with this.... Hmmmm...it appears that we are missing one. Seems his donkey couldnt keep up. Well, we cannot wait for him. If he fell behind, he will either catch up or not. Bruhma says as he looks around. I suggest we all get some sleep. We have to be up and moving in 4 hours, so sleep now. I have some experience staying for days on end, so i will take watch while the rest of you sleep.

with the town a few miles away from the closest sight, hopefully we can avoid detection by your fellow kin. Plus, I will take steps to ensure that the rods are well hidden. Glad to hear it, Asterius. And i am glad that you kept up with us. I felt that you might have fallen back from the difficulties that your horse had handling your girth. looking at Solinas We have a spellcaster here, right Asterius?

Oh no, little elf. Im not revealing that information. I have learned, the hard way, that mentioning the title of the book or the spell will bring attention to ourselves. We must be stealthy. nodding to Talinthal, that was my thinking too. Combine the remnant magic stored within the ruins of Loscarum with the enhanced magic on the night of the eye, then they would easily be able to open a gateway to this alternate dimension. Picking up a stick, he smooths out an area next to the fire place and then begins to draw. Here is kendermore. Over here is the ruins. Its about 10 miles away from kendermore. A gateway that opens here will bring about the destruction of Kendermore. He marks 7 spots around the ruined location. My research has shown that 5 of these 7 spots will make the most perfect locations to draw out the innate energies found within the ruin, and will allow for gate to be created. Now, to combat this, i have discovered within the ruins of Xak Tsarath are 7 rods, rods made during the age of might that will capture and channel any magic, and funnel it to a the receiving rod. This rod, in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, can amplify the casters spellcasting ability to rival that of some of the greatest wizards on Krynn. My plan is to get these rods first, and then plant them within these 7 locations, so when the gateway is created, the energies will be channeled away.

Worse. These Overlords are Dragons themselves. The book appears says that some sort of magicka is used to grant these overlords power over other dragons. I do not know how. [b]An army cannot be used. As you know, the continent is divided between both orders of knights, with the legion hidden within. Moving an army past the demarcation line is a declaration of War, and both Grand Marshals dont want that. Well, not until one side has the early advantage... I informed Palin Majere, master of the White robes, but all i got was Thanks for the info, as if dismissing me. The Temple of Paladine is informed. I informed them 4 years ago... He pauses, looking at Torald with a long look before continuing. But Paladine does as he is want to do

Finishing his meal, bruhma looks about at the people gathered around the fire. You all have pushed yourself so hard this night for a complete stranger, all for some pay, and now you recognize that there is more to this than what meets the eye. I will fill you in with what is going on. Standing up, he walks about, collecting his thoughts. Five years ago, i was in the Library of Palanthus, researching history of the knights of Solomnia and the recent emergence of both the Knights of Neraka and the Legion of Steele. Whilest reading and making notes for my Lord, i heard a scuffle break out. Finding this odd, i went and investigated. There i came across several men in black robes attempting to kill an Acolyte for the Library, over one book. Now i know how well these acolytes take to protecting their books, and this one was no different. He was putting up a great fight, but would ultimately loose, unless i stepped in. So i did. Pausing to drink some water, he continues Killing those thieves, i went to aide the Acolyte, but he was passing on to the next realm. As he lay dying, he thrust the book into my hands, asking me to ensure its protection. This is one of the most destructive books on Krynn. protect it. and he died. At first, i meant to put it on a shelf and forget about it, but my curiosity got the better of me. I went back to my desk and began to read it. I was shocked to discover it was written by a wizard, and a powerful one at that. This book described this wizards journey to an alternate realm, one like ours, but not. There, Chaos was defeated, but the Gods left. As a result, these massive dragons, dragon overlords as they are refereed to in that realm, became the masters of the realm. The amount of death and destruction they rained upon the masses was catastrophic. But, if that was all this book was was just a story, then i could have put it on the shelf.
Turning to face everyone, he continues. So 5 years ago, i made an oath to do whatever i have to to prevent this from happening. So i spent the last 4 years gathering information, finding out who the key players are for this scheme, and gathering resources to combat this unseen foe. Now, i am close to finishing this quest, and i need your help. The foe, who are both the clerics of chemosh, the clerics of Morgian, and a splinter cell of black robed wizards, are converging on Kendermore to reconstruct a gate that will be powerful enough to draw one of these dragonlords to this realm. I need you to come with me, learn more about this threat, and help defend Krynn against these forces. My job, nay, our job is to destroy this group before the Overlord comes through the gate.

Good theory, but not. Bruhma says, walking his horse down the street. What you just witnessed is the culmination of decades of planning. The Dark Queen has always hated Solace, especially the Inn. It has stemmed from her defeat at the hands of the Heroes of the Lance, since this is where they met. And again, it was here that the forces for Krynn gathered before moving against Chaos. So it would seem that this area has a penchant for producing heroes. And the Gods of evil will stop at nothing to destroy this area. Reaching the outskirts, and in the darkness of the road beyond, He mounts his horse, motioning everyone to do the same.
Mounting his horse, he grasps the reins and looks at everyone as they mount.
Turning back, he kicks his horse and lets it stretch out into a full run in the darkness.
m human 1st fighter
putting his fingers to his lips, Bruhma makes a shrill noise, similar to a bird in flight. An answering neigh responds a moment later. Do any of you own a horse? We must move quickly to Xak Tsaroth, and walking will not do. He asks everyone. seeing everyone shake their head, he groans. so be it. i know a spot where we can get some. A large horse, the largest you have ever seen and then some, comes walking up on the group. Blacker than night, the only way you can tell that this is a horse is from its neigh and its fire red mane that is braided into 4 equal lengths. A saddle, large, imposing, is strapped to its back. Bruhma reaches up and grasps the reins that have trailed upon the ground. Alright. we are going to down the street, and then take a right to the last building on the left. They have a stable and we can purchase the horses there. torald: Having been in the city the longest, you immediately recognize the location as the garrison for the Solonmic knights.
m human 1st fighter
Hmmm... i thought you were getting the elf woman? Bruhma asks torald and talinthal as they retreat into the kitchen. no, dont explain, i watched the whole thing. She ran out the front. We must get down below and link up with her, before she is captured. Jumping again onto the rope, he slides down with ease, his armor not hindering his movement.
m human 1st fighter
Talinthal, make a perception check, dc 20 to pick out the elf's voice solinas: yes, yes they are bruhma stops. Son, If it was just a single cleric, i could handle that. It's more like the entire clerical order of Chemosh is looking for me. Before you start on me concerning the innocents, yes it is tragic, but the help that we provide now will adversely impact our quest down the road. As i said, speed is of the essence, we must leave. NOW. So, which will it be? honor your oath to me by helping me escape? Or denying your oath, helping them, and threatening the world?
m human 1st fighter
It would appear that you all dont understand the phrase "discretion", do you? Bruhma snaps off. My apologies, friend gnome, but i must do this. Bruhma says to Rumal. At Rumal's drunken questioning look, Bruhma smiles, grasps the edge of the table, and hurls it in the direction of the man approaching. Let's go, out the back. Suiting words to action, Bruhma leaps up and hustles through the kitchen doors.
m human 1st fighter
Indeed, cow, enjoy the companionship around the table. The first round of food and drink is on me. A voice erupts from just beyond the table.
Seeing the sharp look upon the minotaurs face, the man raises his hand. My apologies, minotaur. I had spent too much time with the pirates on the blood sea, and i apparently have picked up some of their bad habits. The man tosses a bag of coin at Asterius. Please, for the insult, allow me to pay for your lodging. Sliding up a chair, and forcing talinthal to slide over, he sets his own food down.
Names Bruhma. Just Bruhma, for now. I can make my introduction at a later time, but for now Bruhma will do. I saw you on the road earlier, and i had assumed you to be a group that was travelling together, but upon hearing your introductions, i take it you all are strangers?
1 steel is equal to 1 platinum piece.
This is the official starting page for Gambits age of dragons campaign idea, taken over ny me.
