And I stand by the message that you're referring to. At that time, they were charging for subscriptions for months after people were telling them to stop charging them. Taking people's money without their permission, for months after they told you to stop, is in fact criminal.

I've also spent THOUSANDS of dollars on their products. They get hundreds from me every Gen Con, I spend most of Gen Con playing their games, I've spent tons on this site. I own every map they've ever printed, I own nearly every mini they've ever made, except the most recent ones, because I think their prices have gotten extremely ridiculous. So I'm sorry, but I think I've paid enough to have the right to complain from time to time, when I strongly disagree with something they are doing. I've also praised them for many things over the years. Although I'm overall a fan, I'm not one of the horde of mindless fanboys and girls, that just automatically love everything they do. Sorry for my entitlement, but when I invest as heavily in something as I have in Paizo, I'm going to let them know when I think they are in the wrong. And I'll compliment them when they do great.
Anyway, you aren't able to answer my question, so mind your own business.

Hi! Every Christmas, I hang up my Paizo holiday cards that I have gotten over the years. Its bugs my wife, but I love them and the great atmosphere they bring.
Sadly, last year you didn't send out physical cards. I printed out your holiday image on cardstock, but it isn't the same as an official Paizo card.
Will you PLEASE be returning to physical holiday cards this year? I haven't been good, and I'm sure I'm on the naughty goblin list, but I really love and miss those cards.

$80 for 8 standard size minis?!?!?! That's complete insanity!!!
Been buying P.F. minis forever. I have every complete set.
But if this is the way the prices are going, GOODBYE P.F.!!!

CANCEL MY PATHFINDER BATTLES MINIS CASE SUBSCRIPTION

Cancel my Pathfinder Battles Miniatures subscription as well. I don't want Paizo subscriptions and it's worthless c.s. ever having access to bank account ever again.

Sadly, posting here is the "best" way of getting service. The c.s. phone lines are shut down. Customer service emails can take months to be answered. Posting here may take a week, or more lately weeks, but its still the fastest way. And posting here is actually the way customer service suggests that we submit our requests. Posting a c.s. request is a very strange way to handle c.s., I would much rather keep it private between c.s. and myself, but for some reason this is the way Paizo recommends to do it.

It doesn't let me. There's a update payment info option, but it doesn't let me do anything except change the date. My only other option is to completely cancel my card, through my bank. Which I'm probably going to have to do, as Paizo's c.s. is non existent.

You posted a thread on the 9th, then bumped it yourself on the 12th, thus moving yourself back in queue, to cancel your maps, not all of your subscriptions. So not weeks.

Also attacking CS peeps randomly on blogs isn’t really helping you any.

I didn't know at the time that adding a comment made you lose your place but it has still been weeks. I don't owe you any explanation anyway. I understand I'm being excessively rude, but this is ridiculous. Its the maps that got charged for, so its the problem. My other subscription doesn't occur until around January, but at this rate I better cancel them to, as they probably won't get around to it by January. Also, mind your own business!

If you have subscriptions, I do not think the system will allow you to remove your payment method. At least that is what I was told last year by a CS agent. I tried to do it myself, but it errored out.

You are correct.

CANCEL ALL OF MY SUBSCRIPTIONS NOW, AND REFUND ALL OF THE MONEY THAT YOU'VE CHARGED ME SINCE I TOLD YOU TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTIONS, WEEKS AGO!!! SHAME ON YOU, PAIZO!!! THIEVES!!!

This has moved beyond ridiculous, to completely criminal! Covid or no covid, there should be a way to cancel our subscriptions. You still manage to take our money and ship the products, so you should be able to easily cancel subscriptions. I posted WEEKS ago to cancel my subscriptions, as have MANY other customers, with ZERO response so far. Now today, weeks after requesting to cancel my subscriptions, I just got charged $65 for subscriptions that I don't even want. This has gone far beyond bad customer service and into criminal negligence/theft. I can't afford this $65 charge, it is literally taking money away from feeding my family. I think all of your customers who are being unlawfully charged need to get together and form a lawsuit. EVERY other company I've ever had a subscription with, has a way to manually cancel the subscription, but you give us no way to do so, then ignore us when we request cancellation. Criminals!!!

It's showing the cheapest shipping for me is $100 through UPS. That's freaking crazy! I've had couches and a very large treadmill delivered for much less. I'll go ahead with Ignatius time, but hopefully Paizo finds a way to never let this happen again. There's no way I can or will pay this again.

Also, thanks for your responses and advice. I'm not the kind of person who likes getting people in trouble, and definitely don't like jeopardizing a person's livelihood. Had this interaction been limited to only myself, I may have just sat on it, but it sounds like many others were bothered as well.

On a side note, that skitter-goblin design was amazing and I now dream of a boon that would make it playable. :)

We were once teased with a physical battle map of the Rusty Dragon inn, in a thread of posts in the Pathfinder maps section. I REALLY wish we would get an official Rusty Dragon battle flip map of the main floor and the upstairs. I would also like a companion to it map pack of the secret rooms and passages underneath the Rusty Dragon. Also, any other maps of important Sandpoint locations would be awesome. Sandpoint I'd by far my favorite Pathfinder town and love to spend as much time adventuring in it and learning about it, as I can. My second favorite town is Belhaim, from Dragon's Demand. Both towns are a comfortable size with a warm home like feeling.

You mean the game with 3 attunement slots and uber rare magic items?

I also said "I also feel the current D&D isn't very well thought out.". So I'm in no way saying D&D is perfect or superior, exactly why I'm still with Pathfinder. I'm not against a resonance system, I just worry if it's left in its current form it could ruin the fun of gameplay. They've now admitted it is flawed and would need changing, so I feel better hearing that, but that was the first time I've heard them mention anything about listening to the critiques and responding to them. Maybe they have somewhere else, but I hadn't seen it. Love though when I give my opinion in a forum asking for our criticism, I get insulted for offering it.

Folks...

The hyperbole on resonance is getting a bit thick. There are a lot of parts of the game that we have not fully worked on yet because it's too early in the playtest for us to get good data. Resonance is one of those systems. We know a lot of folks dont like it. We hear you. We also know that until we get to mid and high levels, the system is not really doing any work at all, and we are just now getting to that in the playtest.

Have some patience. We are looking at the system, there is almost no chance it will make it to the final game in its current form, a fact I can say about as lot of systems. Changing things without data is what we've spent years doing. Play the game. Tell us how it played. That's how we make this better.

We have faith in you to give us honest, rational feedback. Have faith in us to get it right, given the right time and data.

It's pretty discouraging when you take the time to give your honest criticism, some alternative ideas, how the direction of the development is going to affect my gaming and players, only to have the developer turn around and dismiss what we are saying as "hyperbole". I guess the countless hours and money we pour into Pathfinder is just unwanted "hyperbole". Seems hypocritical when we are asked for our critique and then insulted when we give what was asked for.

On the flip side, I am glad to finally have acknowledgement and assurance that the resonance system will be hopefully improved.
Sorry if my opinion is unwanted, I'll keep it to myself from now on, and if I don't like the final product, I'll just find another system. I truly hope PF2 turns out very good and I can continue to use a Pathfinder system.

6 people marked this as a favorite.

I don't want to be that guy, but if PF2 is finalized with its current resonance system, I'll most likely have to switch to D&D, because in my home game I'm typically the gm and my players want a more streamlined smooth flowing game. They already hated the need to confirm a crit in original PF, and were glad to see that go. They were also glad to see the automatic attack of opportunity system go. But if those cumbersome rules get replaced with a new cumbersome resonance system that restricts them from using all of their magic items, they will lose interest and not enjoy the game. I've mentioned above how I believe the resonance system can be redone and still be fun. I hope something is done about it, because I have a lot of years invested in Pathfinder and love Paizo's customer service. I also feel the current D&D isn't very well thought out. But, if switching to it to keep my players enjoying a streamlined non oppressive game is what has to be done, I'll sadly have to do that. Also sadly, it seems like the Pathfinder developers have no interest in considering what the players have to say about the resonance system. Just swallow what they give us to swallow :(

4 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm sure everyone will disagree with me, but here are my 2 wooden cents. I think the resonance system needs to be redone. I like the idea of having a certain amount of resonance (mana/magic/power) points to use on spells per day and for you to be able to use them on ANY spells you have access to. I hate how in tabletop rpgs you have to pre-select exactly which spells you're going to use for the day. Doing that typically makes you pick a standard list of normal vanilla spells, just to be safe, and you rarely get to use any of your more unique specific purpose spells. So having a set amount of resonance points to use on ANY of your spells is cool. BUT, and here's where I dislike the resonance system, I hate that you have to spend them on your magic items. To me that doesn't make any role playing sense, as magical items are magical on their own, they contain their own magic outside of yourself. So aside from the annoyance of not being able to use all of your hard earned magical gear, it also doesn't make sense, since the item contains its own magic to use. So magic items either need to be free from the resonance system, or they need to be assigned their own amount of resonance points (like daily charges) giving them an appropriate amount of daily uses that doesn't affect your personal resonance points. Just my opinion.

That price is making the pawns look even better.

I bought the pawns at Gen Con. They are built tough and the art is nice, but a HUGE problem I have with Paizo paper pawns is that when you punch them out, many of them lose a significant amount of their artwork that's left behind on the punch out card. I wish they would cut them in a way to retain all of the art. I'm sure that would significantly increase the manufacturing costs though.

If there are going to be exclusives/promos at Gen Con this year, can we get a list of of what they are and what we need to spend/do to acquire them? I know Paizo likes to keep things a surprise, but I hate when I go to Gen Con and the Paizo staff is closed mouth about how to get promos and then when I get home I find out that I missed out. I prefer clarity over surprise any day. Please and thank you!

My case won't be here until Monday, but I saw a complete open set at my local gaming store tonight. It looks WAY better in person than in the pictures on any site. I'm very happy with all of them except the dwarf wizard's eyes and the face on the one female sword fighter (can't remember her name a.t.m.). For future dungeon dressings I would like to see #1 Doorways (functional): wood, metal, secret hidden door, gate #2 Fireplace, with transparent fire so that light hitting it from behind would make the flames look illuminated. #3 Thrones: elaborate golden throne for goodies, and dark evil looking for badies. #4 Weapon racks. #5 Torture/Execution Devices: rack, stockades, guillotine. #6 Crypt Things: sarcophagus, coffins, tombstones. #7 Campsites: bonfire, campfire, tents, bedrolls, torches.

So it is not intended to.

Brell, did you try this actually?

If yes - how does it look inside - probably not painted?

Marco, I was just joking around, but if you're really that curious, I'm willing to take an x-acto knife to the lid of mine, once my case arrives and let you know what I find. I can tell by the gap under the lid, that I can fix whatever damage I do to it by cutting it open.

Haha, cool.

I would do the removal myself because to me that gap at the top looks like the lid is only glued on top.
The rest of the crate looks more seemless.
Makes me wonder if wizkids intended it to be removable and decided against it later.
They did such things in the past as with the "dagger-throwing Merisiel".
I think it could be worth the try if you can put a small mini inside the crate.
It could be the same with the barrel...

I'm doubtful that it's hollow, but I'll find out once it get here. If it is, I have some round shaped gold glitter that looks like gold coins for minis. I'll fill up a crate with it and if any of my p.c.s ever knock it open, they will be heavily rewarded. :)

I really like Kalindlara's idea that you keep singles for a set fully stocked until the next set goes live, and then switch to stocking the new set. Also, don't put singles for sell until enough time has passed for most subscribers to get their case and see what singles they need. When you switch to stocking a new set, if you are stuck with a bunch of common unwanted minis from the previous set, hand them out to loyal customers at Origins, Gen Con, etc. when you pass out the wooden gaming tokens or buttons, if that's too big of a financial hit, sell them dirt cheap at production cost in loose bins at the Paizo booth, loose bins are a favorite of many at Gen Con and they would be even more popular coming straight from Paizo at discount. I know I'm highly critical about stuff in these messages (only because I care), but in real life I'm always telling my gaming friends all of my personal stories about Paizo's unbeatable customer service. In the past you have done amazing things to keep picky, grouchy, whiny, sometimes unreasonable customers like me happy. Let's not lose that second to none customer care and start making bad choices like this... PLEASE! :)

GREAT JOB Paizo!!! 3 of the 4 P.F.S. we played were AMAZING. The one that was a little questionable was a player's fault, not Paizo's or the G.M.'s. She wanted to spend almost an hour arguing with the G.M. and other players because the rules wouldn't let her do something with her whip, exactly the way she wanted to.
I LOVE the way Pathfinder has reinvented the goblin race, and I love playing them. So I really enjoyed the mini 3D table goblin game. I love any chance to be a goblin and strike terror into the hearts of the Sandpoint citizens, or to die a quick death attempting to do so.
The Paizo booth was the best it has ever been. I was very happy that I didn't have to spend a large chunk of my day waiting in the line to the booth, like I did last year. The booth had an excellent variety of merchandise. It felt way more laid back and less stressful of an experience. If I could have changed anything, it would have been MORE BUTTONS :) in past years I was able to collect all the buttons easily, but this year I only got 1 :(. Everyday when I got to the booth, they were all gone pretty early in the day. Not a big deal at all, just a small thing I would tweak.
Keep up the great work Paizo! Hope you all get some rest, you've earned it.

Here are a few things I use to start my kids on tabletop rpgs.
1: Hero Kids RPG. You can find it by googling Hero Kids RPG, or I believe it is actually for sale on Paizo (pretty cheap). You can use their kid friendly rules or just play their adventures using Pathfinder rules.
2:Basic Fantasy RPG. Go on Amazon and search for Basic Fantasy RPG and a bunch of books for the system will come up. They have many really great adventures for super cheap, most of their books are under $5, including their rule book. You can use their super simple rules or just play their adventures with Pathfinder's rules. Their adventures are AMAZING especially for the price and I think all GMs should check them out to use as Pathfinder modules.
3: Pathfinder Beginner Box and the downloadable adventures that go with it. The Pathfinder Beginner Box is the most amazing, best thought out starter set I have Ever seen (D&D 5th edition should be ashamed of the crappy starter box they put out). The simplified Pathfinder rules and adventures that come with it are perfect for teaching kids, plus after you play them long enough to become proficient with them it is easy to make a seamless transition to the full rules, if you want to. I find kid's like the short mini mission type of adventures that come with it. My kids like the dungeon exploring and combat parts that they offer, but get bored playing Pathfinder Society games with the longer more storylined adventures.
4: Old D&D 1st and 2nd edition adventures, but using Pathfinder rules. Can download PDFs or I have had great luck finding tons of them for cheap at Half Price Books, not to mention the beautiful reprint editions you can get (if you don't mind spending a few bucks). 1st and 2nd edition days often offered simpler and more innocent adventures and contain some of the best stories and adventures in the history of gaming.
5: Fat Dragon Games. This isn't actually a game, it is downloadable printable 3D gaming terrain. I only mention it because my kids LOVE cutting and glueing together these sets to have Pathfinder Battles on, or to make homes for their characters.
I hope some of this is helpful to those looking for fun RPG options for their kids.

PAIZO, with this the release of the Rusty Dragon Inn miniatures set, can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FINALLY make a Rusty Dragon flip map with the main floor on one side and the upstairs on the other? Maybe also make a corresponding map pack of Beneath the Rusty Dragon with wooden walled wine and ale racks, storage rooms, some hidden secret rooms for different purposes or treasures, maybe a secret passageway to the light house (very Goonies like), or to a thieves/smugglers waterfront underdock, or the existing sewers. I know some people don't want more inn and tavern maps, but how can you not do a map of your most iconic inn?

I think I'll spend my gold on a masterwork composite longbow and if I don't acquire a better melee weapon than my longsword by the time I earn my next feat, then I will use it to get elven curved sword proficiency. Thanks again.

I don't see how I am being vindictive at all. Erik said that the Freiya mini is unacceptable and that he was working with Wizkids for some sort of resolution. All I am asking is since I will be at gen con, could I get my unacceptable minis replaced. It would be a great way to do it as I could show then how bad they are and they could decide if they are as bad as I say they are or if I am just being too picky. My complaint is against Wizkids way more than it is against Paizo. Customer service of the high level of paizo's is rarely seen. Although I think Paizo should dump wizkids and find a better mini supplier. I know it is possible, look at the sculpt quality and paint detail on the Rackham Confrontation prepainted minis that are even cheaper than Pathfinder or D&D minis. I just got my new set of the D&D miniatures starter set today and it is greatly lacking in painting quality as well. Pathfinder and D&D need to dump Wizkids as soon as their contracts allow.

I am constantly baffled by how many people come to the defense of these poorly painted minis by calling those of us who complain things like vindictive. How can a person pay $300-$400 for a box of little plastic men and be happy with them being just ok. It's not like you are paying a few bucks for a bag of army men. For the large amounts of money we spend on these minis we should all expect a certain standard of sculpt and paint quality that is met consistently, not just a box of hit or miss melted faced minis with eyes on their foreheads and paint just randomly applied in the wrong areas. Not to mention Wizkids has no clue how to apply a wash or even what colors to wash with and should just stop attempting it.

As for going to the Wizkids booth with my bad minis and showing people what they are really going to get, how is that vindictive? They are the ones falsely representing what you are going to get. If it wasn't such a small market and it was more of a every household item, they would have been hit with a false advertisement case by now.

If you don't mind paying a lot of money for substandard products, more power to you, but don't say I'm vindictive just because I want what is advertised and the quality that I pay for.

I promise to do my part to make it worth your time and cost.

So... during the last series there was some talk of future maps making some sort of comeback. Will we be seeing the return of maps in any of this series, or has all that future map talk come to end? I have really missed the maps, they made the first series my favorite comic series ever, because my son and I could read the comic and then have a mini adventure. He and I were both let down with the second series' lack of maps. Although it helped that it was pretty much the same as the adventure in the P.F. Starter box. Please bring back the mini maps or even a more expensive version that has the map, I will gladly pay a bit more if I get a mini adventure and mini map.

I know my business is only a drop in the bucket for you, but I have spent thousands of dollars (which is no drop in the bucket for me) on Pathfinder and Paizo products: flip mats, map packs, novels, comics, gaming books and aids, TONS of minis, even silly goblin plushies. So I feel I have the right to say what I want to say about these products without you threatening to remove my posts for speaking my mind. I notice you didn't threaten me or complain about my "double posts" when I said nice things about the hardcover version of issues 1-6. 99% of the time I LOVE Pathfinder and Paizo products, but this time I think you made a HUGE mistake. Just wanted to give my two cents of my o.c.d. advice. It bugs me how when you put the tiles in the box that the bottom tile always hits the bottom flap of the box that is tucked inside the box if you aren't really careful, causing the tiles edges to get all ragged and dogeared over time. So I use some clear hocky tape and tape the edge of the bottom flap against the inside of the box so that there is less of a sharp angled edge for the tiles to jam up against and they slide right in. I know that is probably being way too obsessive, but I hate my tiles and maps gettng damaged. I also never fold my flip mats again once I have unfolded them the first time, so that I don't wear out the folds. I made a great big portfolio out of foam board and 100mph tape to keep them safe in and to transport to games. If Paizo would make a cooler heavy duty flip mat portfolio with nice artwork on the boards, I would totally buy it. I have been trying to design a map portfolio that also doubles as a GM screen, but still working out some bugs on that. I also think there should be discount bundles of these map pack sleeves for those of us who need a lot of them, maybe a 25 sleeve bundle and a 50 sleeve bundle to take the sharp edge off of buying so many sleeves.
