"Alright, clear the way!" Benris shouts as he pushes his way through the crowd. "This is a potential crime scene, so everyone back away! And nobody better leave either! We're going to need statements from everybody, and probably search your personal effects. This building is sealed off!"

Benris waves his gun around, pointing it at the crowd to emphasize his points, and the crowd lurches aside to stay out of the line of fire.

Benris circulated through the party, chatting up anyone and everyone who would listen.

"Hey, nice to see you. Love your hair, by the way. Have you heard about the work we've been doing? Brilliant stuff if I do say so myself. The name's Benris Carr; tell your friends!"


Faldus weaves his way through the crowds of Kenabres, but in truth it's not that difficult, because the crowds give him a wide berth. His abyssal heritage is apparent in his features, but he pays no attention to their looks. No one's opinion mattered except Master's, and he lies rotting in a Sarkorian field.

He stumbles to the nearest vendor, surrounded by revelers, and digs through his pockets for the few coins he managed to scavenge from the bodies before he was chased off by quasits. He was eventually rescued by another troop of soldiers, but they tossed him aside once he was within the city walls, with barely a word.

"I need something to drink," he says with a dry, croaking voice. "Is this enough?"

Faldus is a Kensai Magus, specializing in the wakizashi. I plan on taking him into the Trickster mythic path. Stats and full background are in the profile.


Answer:
Kergal would of course search out the bath houses of any new town he arrived in, and on those occasions where he passed through an area with no such businesses or bodies of water, he would carry a custom-made tank with him on a cart.

Kergal is used to the stares and suspicion of the land-based people he meets, and this only further spurs him on to attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of his people, in the hopes of returning some day. But in his experience, fellow warriors quickly respect him as an equal once they see him fight alongside them.


Here's the backstory for my Merfolk Barbarian

Background:

Kergal was a rising star in the guard of a Merfolk kingdom far from the reaches of the land-based civilization. However he had a reputation for brash behavior, and it was often debated whether he would survive to be promoted a position of any high authority.

Once, while romancing an aristocrat's daughter, he took her to an area known to be frequented by blood-thirsty dire sharks, in order to impress her with his bravery. However they were attacked by larger numbers than he imagined, and he barely escaped with his life. The girl was not so lucky.

He was subsequently banished from the kingdom for life, and could find no home in any other Merfolk community. Instead, he is forced to live above the water, and is trying to make his way in Almas. There he finds a mysterious offer of employment, which might just be what he needs...
