Fionna Handoverhammer |

Fionna continues humming and tenderizing rats, feeling absolutely zero threat from the ankle-gnawing beasties.

Rupert, seeing an opportunity to put his foe at a disadvantge, would take a quick step to the right while dropping his briefcase to the ground. Then, with practiced ease, he would pull forth his dagger from it's sheath and stab at the rat.

I hope everyone enjoyed whatever holiday time they could. Back to dwarven food supplying business though.
Gypsumay, Rupert and Fionna send the last three rats to the Bone Rat, and together the 7 rats and the hooded rat fade from the ethereal into an even more ethereal plane.
Shall we proceed down the underground street?

Benris Carr |

Benris reloads the two shots he fired.
"Well, that was an interesting diversion. Shall we proceed?"

Fionna Handoverhammer |

"Aye, forward march 'n all that." Fionna takes up her place at the rear guard once more. She takes the time to examine the construction around them while waiting for the group to get moving. Typical sub-Ankh-Morpork construction, really. Humans don't know how to make things that last, she laments silently.

Fionna Handoverhammer |

"Methinks there ain't gonna be much of a party left," Fionna grumbles. "Big holes in th' floor tend to put a damper on the partyin' spirit. Unless that's what the party's for, I guess."

---GM Shadowtail24--- |
The party journey's ahead through another seeming doorway, with Phrenic bringing up the rear.

The map and Init are also posted in the campaign info at the top.
As you enter a new area, Rupert and Gypsumay hear the sound of cranks being turned. Before they can react though, a sunrod flares into light and is thrown toawrds you, illuminating an area strewn with rubble and men with crossbows. There is an opening in the rubble ahead with a man standing there, smailing and he levels his crossbow.

Note: The rubble provides partial cover and 20% concealment. It can be moved through as rough terrain. You should have controll of the players on the map. Please move them as necessary.

Rupert L. Wordsworth |

Sorry for the delay. I've only just gotten home today and I didn't want to be pulling up maps at work so you'll have a response from me soon to get things moving. As for Mr. George, I think he'll be passed out drunk in my pocket for now. He partied a bit too much earlier.
After dispersing the last of the rats, Rupert had gone about a quick cleaning of his dagger before returning it to his sheath behind his back and beneath his suit jacket. Once finished, he had quickly reloaded his gun and followed after the others with his gun readied in one hand and his briefcase in the other. So it was to no one's real surprise, except maybe the unsuspecting villians of this story that Rupert quickly took cover before firing the round off at the man standing in the opening.
Pistol Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Pistol Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Gypsumay |

Gyp swings her blunderbuss back to its shouldered position and swings she who must be avoided around into a firing position while sitting down to brace herself.."You just made the wrong girl angry.". The imposing barrel is intricately carved with the troll stories of its namesake and the good Granny Weatherwax seems to almost look on with that look from her position as an ornate iron sight, arms held wide as if calling doom upon all she surveys. It is in fact a good likeness.

---GM Shadowtail24--- |
Rupert and Gypsumay spring into action at but Rupert's shot flies wide and Gypsumay is not quick enough on the draw to get a shot off.
---Round 1---
The leader, the man standing in the opening, casually reloads his crossbow. The others follow (the suit).
"Gentlemen and ladies." He frowns. "Or perhaps dwarf and troll and faun and ladies and gentlemen" - Mr. George belches from Rupert's pockets. "AND Gnomes. My name is inconsequential, but what is important is this." He taps a pin on his nicely tailored, very black jacket. I am a member of the Assassin's guild, and these are my associates. We have contracted a fee of 5,000, 4000, 3,000 and 2,000 gold for you and are here to collect our prize. You may surrender if you wish.[/b]" The man raises his arms, welcomingly.
Init: Leader, Others,Jon,Benris, Phrenic,Rupert,Gypsumay, Fionna
The party is up.

Gypsumay |

"Oi, hold that look. I want them to see that smug smile at your funeral Mr. Inconsequential." Gypsumay falls back in to a laying position with her cannon balanced on the anterior of her left ankle, this is then placed over her right leg just above the knee which is then bent to adjust the rise of her aim. Her sudden rolling thunder of a laugh is drownded out moments later by the rolling thunder of Aaoograha Hoa belching fire and bullet out her muzzle.

Fionna Handoverhammer |

It seems gunfire is the order of the day. Fionna lets her hammer lie, dropping it with a noisy crash over her shoulder and behind her, and draws her axe-headed musket from her belt, likewise taking aim and letting fly at the opposition. Since everyone else seems to be ganging up on the leadership, she decides to pick off one of the flunkies to the right.

Jonathon Brubacher |

Jon says, "Please, I surrender.", drops his quarterstaff and runs toward the nearest of the center of the flunkies with his hands held high. When he gets there he attempts to divert a flunky's crosbow and attempts to deliver a swift kick to the groin to said flunky.

Jon moves first, trying a dirty trick manuever. It is successful. The crossbowmen drops his crossbow and clutches at himself, is shaken for 2 rounds and takes 1d4 ⇒ 3 damage.
Benris and Fionna both manage to land attacks on enemies. Gysumay's thunderous shot flies wide, even after Phrenic buffs the party for +1 to attacks and saves against fear.

Jonathon Brubacher |

Wincing from the pain, Jon rolls away from the leader in the direction of the dropped crossbow, picks it up mid-somersault, lands on his back, head towards the leader, turns stomach down and fires the crossbow at the leader's chest.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Benris Carr |

Benris steps to the side for a clearer shot, rotates to a new barrel, and takes another shot at the lead assassin.

Fionna Handoverhammer |

Gun: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 Touch
Miss Chance (higher is better): 1d100 ⇒ 47
Sadly the shot goes wide. The dwarf grumbles deeply into her beard and shakes free of the layer of dust, soot, and gunpowder debris she's garnered.

Rupert L. Wordsworth |

Rupert would draw in a deep breath to steady himself against the pain as he once more pushes an alchemical cartridge into his gun before firing at his opponent once more.
Pistol Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Pistol Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Miss Chance (Low being bad): 1d100 ⇒ 23
Just toeing that line of misfiring.

---GM Shadowtail24--- |
Let's do this. Wow, at least Benris managed to hit.
After only Benris manages to land a shot on the leader, albeit it a nice bullet punch to the gut, one would think that the parties frustration could not be outdone. Well "one", stop thinking and start listening to the guild leader.
Are you $%$*@*@ kidding me. Use BOTH of your hands! The leader's cursing turns to muttering, No wonder these guys couldn't make it into the guild.
The leader attack Jon, his blades a whirl.
Rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 crit fumble
Short: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Distracted by his anger, the leader doesn't notice that Jon moved. His fancy twirl and slash becomes a a fancy twirl and a very unfancy stab into his own arm.
Jon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 hit
Benris: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 miss
Gypsumay: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 crit fumble
Fionna: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 hit
Phrenic: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 hit
Damage Jon: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage Fionna: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Damage Phrenic: 1d10 ⇒ 8
Another crossbowmen snaps his crossbow string, and curses. Two of the other crossbowmen do seem inspired by their leader's words, or perhaps remembered that crossbows were better to fire with two hands instead of one. One shot just glances Fionna's unprotected arm; another bolt buries itself into Phrenic's arm. The melee attack jus mananges to pull out his short sword and nick Jon.

Rupert L. Wordsworth |

Rupert, taking account of the sound advice their enemies' leader was giving, would quickly reload his pistol with another one of his not-so-cheap alchemical rounds before popping up and using his arm as a rest to steady his aim on the leader. Let's see if the leader's advice applied to guns as well he would think to himself as he stepped forward and pulled the trigger back...
Pistol Attack - First Range Increment: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Pistol Damge: 1d8 ⇒ 1
...Haha, well now if that isn't anti-dramatic...

Jonathon Brubacher |

Jon is so stunned by the ineptitude of his aggressor's rapier attack that he fails to notice the wound created by the short sword. "Is that what they teach in the Assassin's guild nowadays?" Laughing derisively he directs a savage kick to the side of his opponents knee in an attempt to cripple him.
Kick: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Fionna Handoverhammer |

"Y'know what, bugger all this."
Tired of playing back and forth with the weaponry, Fionna stashes away her gun back in its holster at her belt, retrieves her hammer, and marches toward the opposition, bringing herself to bear behind the leader with weapon in hand.
Switch weapons, move 15 ft. forward. Now flanking the leader with Jonathon.

Gypsumay |

Seeing as her shots have been missing with regularity, probably owing in no small part to the conditions she finds herself fighting in, Gypsumay decides to switch weapons out to her musket for a better aim.
Switch weapons and load the musket.

Benris Carr |

Benris decides not to fix what isn't broken, and takes another shot at the assassin leader. 3 shots left after this.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Phrenic: 1d10 ⇒ 6 Phrenic takes 6 damage

Jonathon Brubacher |

Been too long since I trained. Losing my skills.
Jon becomes aware that his comrade's looming presence has drawn some of the leader's attention. He aims a solid right cross at the leader's jaw.
Punch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Gypsumay |

Drop gun as free. Pull musket as a move action. Reload as a move action due to rapid reload and musket master third level deed.
Gypsumay takes aim on one of the unengaged crossbowman.

Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1) = 8
Miss 1-20: 1d100 ⇒ 36
And finally connects with an enemy... I hope.

Rupert L. Wordsworth |

Rupert would mark the increased accuracy of his shot as another bolt comes sailing in to stab into his thigh. Gritting his teeth behind his otherwise calm demeanor, he quickly reloads his pistol once more before once again using his arm to steady his shot as he fires at their leader, caring little for his allies that seem to be hell bent on getting in the way of his shots...
Pistol Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Jom lands a crushing blow across the leader's jaw, all but felling him. The felling does come though, not with Phrenic's Maggic Missile's, and not with Rupert's grazing shot, but with Fionna's crippling hammer blow to the leader's knees. The leader crumples in a heap, his lifeless blood seeping out onto the ground. See the barrage on the leader, Benris shifts his attack to the wide crossbowman, but the quick shift in aim means it's only a grazing blow. Gypsumay also manages to hit a wide crossbowman.
The remaining crossbowmen keep up the attack.

The far right crossbowmen snaps his crossbow string.
Benris, you had 1d8+3 for your damage last time, I'm not sure where the +3 came from.
Rupert, can you put your HP, AC and saves under your name?
Gypsumay, I saw the rapid reload but missed the musket master affect.
