Hi PieRat, The SoundSets work completely within the Syrinscape Players, yes. They are not so much DRMed, but need Syrinscape's amazing machine to bring them to life, randomisation, positioning, customisation, tweeking, trigger OneShot events etc... For using them with Roll20, we made this especially for you:
Works? :-) Benjamin Loomes
PS To see what I mean about the Syrinscape machine... check out these videos:

Here's a direct link to every Syrinscape that works with Starfinder (with the filter described by Steve)
There are Docking Bays, Discos, Nebulas, Sci-fi planets, an Alien Cantina, a Cryogenic Facility lots of Creatures and more... As actual official Starfinder content so far we've got:
And coming soon:
For completeness on this thread, since someone already mentioned that Syrinscape is making SoundSets for Starfinder... they're done! :) Epic movie style music, distinct engine sounds for every culture, actions for each role on the bridge, every weapon in the Starfinder Core Rulebook , and more... Find them all here on paizo.com here and here
There are demo videos of everything, and you can sub to unlock everything and all the usual types of things.
This was so fun to build sounds for! Have a peek behind the curtain at some of the fun we had making these noises here:
Answered already on our forums, but repeated here for other's info! Hi, All good questions! :-) 1) Yep.
NOTE: As well as Windows and MAC, Syrinscape also runs on Android and iOS (iPad & iPhone). Ask more questions!
And here's the game I'm talking about:Dicestormers' Halloween Special.
Hi, the company is Warpo. They are really really really cool!
Hi Taedin, We are looking into this. It like you've successfully redeem a few other SoundSets on this order, correct? Why don't you contact me directly on benjamin at syrinscape dot com and I'll activate the missing stuff directly on our server. And then we'll continue to work out where the gremlins in the system are hiding! :-) Ben

Make sure you check out the new Syrinscape PC SoundSets! Now players can set off their spells etc. So the GM, runs the general background music and the roars of the mosters and when the Wizard casts a spell, that player hits her own Fireball sound... so much cooler than just saying, "I cast Fireball" And don't forget, you can buy Syrinscape stuff in the paizo store now too! Woot!
Yes. We are continuing on with the Adventure Paths. "Hell's Rebels" is next, and we'll keep releasing individual monsters and locations and an occasional stand alone module along the way. People are now making and sharing custom "Campaigns" (left hand column orderings) on the Syrinscape Forums now, so you can get a setup ready to play for many of the good modules already. In fact, there's nothing to stop someone creating a 'campaign' setup and sharing on the Paizo forums too.
GenCon is going to be really fun this year! Especially this:
It was super fun at PaxAus and my group for this one is AMAZING!
Hi Drakir2010, There are several ways you can get the sounds going in the Syrinscape Players. 1) Each Player (Fantasy and Sci-Fi) comes with 2 free SoundSets so you can test them out, make sure they work on your machine, and see if you like them. 2) You can (as you mentioned) subscribe to all the content. This gets you permanent ownership of everything we release while you are a subscriber PLUS everything in the back catalogue unlocks while you remain a subscriber. You can buy 2 month blocks of subscription here at paizo and apply as many as you like to your account at syrinscape.com. The subscription blocks you buy here at Paizo don't automatically renew. 3) You can just buy individual SoundSets here as well. You pay once, and you own it forever. Does that all make sense to you? Feel free to ask more questions so I can clarify further. Also, check out syrinscape.com for lots more info (in the store and FAQ). OR ask questions at forum.syrinscape.com and users themselves can help you. Ben
Hi Nullpunkt, We are announcing the next Adventure Path we will be covering.... very soon! ;-) Also expect lots more generic locations and monsters coming out in every middle month. There are three really good ones coming just next week! Now's a good time to jump on the subscription so they'll all be yours! Ben
Wow Gwaihir Scout, Thanks for taking the time with these excellent instructions! :-) What will please people even more is we are heading towards a player that will work online. Kind of like this:
Sounds good?!?!? For the moment though us the instructions above, they are excellent! Thanks, Ben

If you actually want to get a sense of the direction we are heading, then have a go of our SoundSet Creator Beta here: Syrinscape SoundSet Creator Beta. Have a go and e-mail me some hints at how we could make things easier for this community!I'm sure it would be a fascinating conversation!
Joey Virtue wrote: So if we become a subscriber do we gain the old adventure path stuff or just get to use it as long as we stay subscribers Our next big UI rebuild is going to use far more standard components. We are dropping the whole skeuomorphic thing... so it might potentially be much more useful for you. You'll be able to zoom right in and all that sort of stuff. Does that help? Ben
Joey Virtue wrote: So if we become a subscriber do we gain the old adventure path stuff or just get to use it as long as we stay subscribers Hi Joey, While you are a subscriber, everything that comes out every month you own permanently = $6.50pm cost for about $14.00pm worth of Fantasy Stuff. PLUS everything in the back catalogue unlocks (as long as you remain a sub = as you said) = about $240 worth of stuff (including ALL the Adventure Path content) OR You can do the same sort of thing, but for BOTH Fantasy AND Sci-Fi (called the SuperSyrin) for an even bigger saving = $10.00pm All sense makes? Ben

Cool. I understand. BUT... with the licenced content for say... Sandpoint, we have actually made the sound of the music the characters will hear from the bard in town, or from the musicians in the tavern. And obviously... if you are looking for immersion, then actually hearing the sounds of the Red Dragon who is trying to tear your heart out and toast it for breakfast will help just a little. No? But, yes, I understand that's not what you were actually posting about, so I'll leave you in peace now! :-) Ben

We're even making Licenced Content for Pathfinder Adventures (Rise of the Runelords atm), and Pathfinder monsters (Goblins, Ghouls, Dragons, Ogres... all sorts)
Hi Plenilune and Hama, Give Syrinscape a try. It's a specially designed tool for the Pathfinder game. Unobtrusive, easy to run, totally immersive. You can download it and try it for free here. It works on PC, MAC, Android and iPad. Music without lyrics, specially focussed on different locations and encounters and sound effects mixed in for each different monster and environment. No repeats, no discernible patterns... It's good stuff! Benjamin Loomes
Here's what we at Syrinscape came up with for the Goblin Song in Burnt Offerings. I was thrilled to have the chance to compose the tune for this iconic piece of Pathfinder history, but I tell you, it was hell, trying to get those Goblins to stand still in front of a microphone! That recording session was chaos indeed!!
FYI, I've just broken out the very meaty Red Dragon from this SoundPack as an individual monster you can fight. There are actually two versions: one similar to how it appears in the SoundPack = frying innocent townsfolk; and another with the Dragon in a Cavern acoustic = claws scratching on the floor and roars echoing ominously. They both sound rather epic! Check out the demo video here:
Thanks for the nice things people are saying here! :-) I'm very proud of the Goblin song, though it was hell getting it recorded! The Goblins literally burnt my studio to the ground, it was pretty much a total rebuild... and frankly what they call 'singing'!?! It took an aweful lot of autotune, I tell you! ;-)
Hey Mikaze, I actually have gone a whole long way down this path. I in fact wrote a program for myself, to play the music (spaced out like in a movie) and grouped into SoundSets, and ALSO I added sound effects... I have been sharing it on-line for a few years. I've had such positive feedback that I'm actually RIGHT NOW in the process of re-releasing it cross platform (supporting PC and MAC and Androids and iPhones/Pads/Pods), hopefully next month. It's called Syrinscape, and if you are interested in this kind of thing, you should really check it out. www.syrinscape.com
You can see a video of the OLD version here:
The new version is going to be all-kinds-of-awesome better! |
