His head full of curly hair fits the name he's given the remaining defenders of Serenity Ranch. His eyes do sparkle with something akin to mischief, though his expression is serious. As he reaches the ground he pats his horse and then walks over to kneel at the blood spatter that Culver had indicated. "I see, cattle rustling first and then the murder later. That makes more sense. Angle Eyes had a story in mind that you might tell which matches that closely enough." Curly gestures towards the stoic, gunslinger still scanning the area looking for threats. Curly stands to look at those assembled before him and nods. "So here's the good news. The sheriff deputized us a couple days back, so at this point we represent the law in this matter. We're also inclined to figure out what happened rather than just make problems disappear. Most of the story that you're telling makes reasonable sense. If you were responsible for killing I can't see a motive for bringing McInyre's men in. They're just going to blame it on you and you get the suspicion of the law all the same. It's possible you're up to no good and just a couple steps of reasoning beyond me, but I'm going to give one of us credit here and assume that's not true." Sighing, Curly looks a the bloody patch and then back to the group. "The bad news is that we got no chance to talk to the men that were locked up at all. The sheriff, after deputizing us, said that time wasn't a huge issue, so we were resting up after a gun-fight with some bank robbers gone, well, let's say less well than it could have. By the time we got around to asking some questions the men had been released. We've taken this job because it seems like it's one that probably needs doing, but if I read you right, our faith in the sheriff might be about the same as yours just now. "Having said that, you talked about not taking the law into your own hands. Funny thing is that right now, as I just said, we are the law. You make a convincing enough case and there's no reason that we can't work together all nice and legal like to deal with the issues you seem to have. Have you got any evidence about the story you're telling? I don't suppose the cow's still around, and you've probably buried whatever bodies resulted from the raid. I'm a bit confused by what you're saying about the eyes on the cattle rustlers, so I'd like a bit more detail there. It wasn't just a trick of the light of the moon or anything?" ![]()

The sheriff didn't mention anything about cattle rustlers and you don't seem to be mentioning anything about a murder, so either I'm slower than normal today, something's missing in that account or the sheriff had the wrong information on his end." Glancing back at his companions, Curly shrugs. "There really wasn't any chance this was going to be simple was there?" Turning back to Henry and the others in front of him Curly scratches his chin while he thinks and then goes on. "From the sound of it, you're a bit suspicious of strangers just now. Well, or maybe just me. I wonder if you'd mind if I dismount, so I'm not talking to you from way up here, and we could sit down and talk about what happened when Mr. McInyrne's men came through? "No sudden moves on my part, I just want to hear the whole story. From how you said it, I'm guessing you and your friends here did the giving when they got what was coming to them, but I know that the men ended up in jail and not the ground. I might be optimistic, but I'm going to take that as auspicious." ![]()

I don't know that I've got any reason to trust the word of anyone involved in what the Sheriff was trying to hire us on for yesterday. I don't know that I think we should even trust the Sheriff given his lax attitude. I don't think that we should let this sit too long if we're going to be involved though." These sound like serious charges and I'd hate to start stepping on toes that don't like to be trod upon if I could avoid it with a little knowledge ahead of time." I'll certainly be happy to sell whatever loot we've gathered from the bandits after everyone takes what they could use. I might as well grab a pistol myself, because I don't have one, and why not; it'll be handy to have in close quarters from time to time I imagine. ![]() "Well that's a friendlier welcome, and as Antonio says I am a bit parched." Curly makes a show of walking over to the horses and leaving his rifle with Shemp. As me passes Angle Eyes hidden around the corner of the barber shop he speaks under his breath. "Figure I'll go in with Antonio and get the lay of the land. Might as well try to get some intel and pick an advantageous spot for the confrontation rather than going in with no knowledge. If you're hanging back then give us some sort of signal if anyone else starts heading in to the saloon." When the rifle is safely stored Curly leads Shemp west side of the saloon and makes sure the horse knows to wait there unless called for. He then heads to Antonio and offers to let him lead the way in.
