Looking down at his whiskey for a few moments, "Maybe you could draw him out somehow? Just a few warriors and this Shrow-whats-his-name?"

Baraxx grunts over his whiskey, "Sometimes, sure, but there are plenty of Baatezu to take it out on. And even if I do they'll just come back eventually. I think. That's what they said about us anyway." he mumbles, then fades as the vengeful catgirl continues.

"So, lets go kill him. What's a Doomguard? They fight well? Can I kill a bunch of them?" he ends on a hopeful note.

Baraxx listens with some interest and even some ... sympathy? While Rinika talks.

When she's finished he looks strangely subdued as he responds slowly.

"That reminds me of .. the hole. I was raised for a single purpose, fodder for the Blood War. A whole town, or maybe a camp is more apt, devoted to raising half bloods to go to war. We fight, its good, we die, our corrupted souls just get sent back to the grinder. Overall, pretty fun, lots of stuff to fight and kill, rarely boring.

But, when I was a little one, if we screwed up only a little, bad screw ups were usually fatal and the screwup became lunch, we got put in the hole for a while. It was a, well, it was a hole, that was just barely big enough to get forced into, but not enough to move at all. If we were lucky they put us in feet first, but we weren't usually lucky. Not fun.

I liked the fighting pit more. Punishment that was also reward." he finishes with a little bit of a grin and a far away look.

Shaking himself out of memory, he drains his glass, and orders more whiskey, upbeat and smiling once again. "Oh, and more of that roasted meat!"

Baraxx frowns at the sod for a moment, then answers "Uh, no thanks. I'm going to need to order whatever that meat is cooking right there." he adds before suiting task to words and ordering cooked meat to go with his whiskey.

Baraxx barks in laughter at Creednen's frown and gives him the location of the rat massacre anyway, to the best of his ability.

"Gotta say, them rats be chopped pretty good though, hope you can make do with all the bits and bobs."

As the crew gets to Poor Sod's the half-fiend's grin widens even more, "I like this place." he comments as they enter.

Upon his eventual turn to order a drink, he asks for whiskey But sadly not the won from solving a logic puzzle kind, just the regular kind.

Baraxx flicks a few rat pits off of his armor with his tail while listening to Rinika's extensive list of street vendors. "Not really hungry, just curious. Hate to be wasteful." he answers, then pays attention to their strange necromancer and echos his question.

Swooping over the swarm, his familiar earthen blade held low Baraxx seems to blur reality as he turns into a tornado of whirling blade and flying rat parts.

When its all said and done and the pieces have fallen to the ground, he stands amongst the wreckage and fleeing rats with a big toothy grin.

"Nice little workout. You sure these things aren't good to eat? There's gotta be a cut or two around here still usable."

Looking over at the wizard and his new friend, "So... this was all about another cat? What's the box for anyway? What's this cat mean? Is this a typical night in this city? Seems fun!"

I wish I had a handy anime clip with the ol' faster than light whirlwind of bladecraft, but its hot, and I'm tired.

The skill seems to call out a single attack for all in reach, especially since it calls out if it crits, it only applies to the first, rather than rolling for all targets in range. At least by my reading

Grinning a wide grin now that something more interesting was finally happening, Baraxx leaps into the air and flys over the rats, kinetic blade already forming in his hand.

Fly 5 feet up and over the center of the swarm, then attack with blade whirlwind

Earth Blast, Overcharge, Primary, Power attack: 1d20 + 13 + 3 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (10) + 13 + 3 + 1 - 3 = 24
Earth Damage, S, Overcharge, Primary, Power Attack: 6d6 + 6 + 5 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 6, 4, 1) + 6 + 5 + 2 + 6 = 43

The attack is for everything in my reach, which should work on a swarm since its AOEish (at least I hope I don't regret not standing out of range till next round to do it with my 15' whip.
My Icon is on the edge of the swarm but I want to be right above them to reach as many as possible, if it makes any difference

I needed it, that level was more complicated than I had thought initially, the overflow now gives bonuses to all of my physical stats if I take 5 burn, which of course I will, so that's -55 HP each day, but a +4 to CON gets 22 right back. Bumps my DR to 7, which isn't half bad. Also the extra DEX means I might need to start considering mithral full plate, I could always take the +4 DEX and get my AC up to 32. Next feat could be combat reflexes, and all the sudden my whip can become an AOO concern for anyone around.

Idly picking up small pebbles and tossing them up in the air and swatting at them with his tail, playing an internal game of "how far can I whack a pebble with my tail".

Baraxx eyes the bouncer for some long minute as he’s denied entrance, briefly considering bloody violence and mayhem for the irritation, but shrugs it off.

Turning to Nik and the shamblers he asks, ”Anywhere around here that aren’t stuck up prigs who will serve our kind?”

I don’t have any downtime stuff in mind, drink, carouse, maybe kill someone, if our loot share is enough consider looking for a kinetic diadem. I’ll get my profile and tagline updated tonight when I get home, visiting family this weekend

Baraxx lets go of hands and nonchalantly stretches and rubs them through his hair, like he had planned on doing that all along.

He squints surprisedly at the vanishing fairy but shrugs it off as he typically does with all this group's myriad antics.

"Where to now? I suppose that's the task finished." frowning and scratching his ear with his tail, he grumbles "Guess that means I'll need something new to do. Lets get to that big city so I can find someone who needs something interesting done, preferably for coin."

Gotta say this, I really appreciate this group and DM. Shortly before joining this game I had just, sadly, had a long term group break up and was missing the absolute fun we had (it was also PBP) with the odd characters and the bickering (in character, my bawdy narcissistic cockatrice cavalier loved to tweak our reserved, gawky, naive wizard).

Didn’t imagine I’d find such a solid fun group immediately afterward.

With his high constitution and good fort save I imagine Baraxx can really put away the booze if he wants to

edit, oh crap! I have a +9 will save not 8. I think that might have mattered at some point

"Now where's the fool who cast a spell on me." he growls, an obsidian blade forming in his hand, but not the typical straight and sharp blade he prefers, this one is all crooked spiky bits and serrated edges, "I'm going to rip his spine out and feed it to him, or maybe beat him to death with one of his arms, I saw a tannar'ri do that this one time.. "

His tirade is interrupted as he notices the clown and fairy show going on and turns to watch, revenge forgotten by the spectacle and realization of the part his was playing finally working it way into his thick skull, he simply shows his biggest, most tooth filled smile.

Baraxx peels his lips back in a slight snarl as he takes in the room and it’s inhabitants. Normally he’d be happy for some bub and grub, but his constant crankiness has him feeling less excited at the prospect for a drink.

Looking over the group at the table, he cheers a bit, as this group looks like one that might just decide to let him take some of his irritation out on them, getting his violence on had always cheered him some in the past. Still, with a side eye towards their pacifist fairy, he holds his tongue and doesn’t try to pick a fight, opting instead for a challenging glare around the room.
