I would say Sarenrae; I appreciate the idea that anyone can be good, and that by peaceful and friendly action we can all be happy.
(Yes yes, I know, lame.)

Redemption as a theme is meaningful for me too, as is hope to resist a dark and scary future, and make it bright.

1) I believe the most effective school is Conjuration; it includes healing spells which are my favorite, and summoned monsters can help you replicate the other schools.

2) My Favorite school of magic is a tie between three schools, for various reasons; Illusion for the fun, Evocation for the fun, and Conjuration (Healing primarily) because it's again, my favorite.

3) My least favorite would be Necromancy; and to some extend Enchantment; both feel like violations of another creature's sacred right to it's own mind, it's soul, and the memory of it's form to relatives (IE Animate dead)

4) Worst School: Enchantment late game wins the spot for me here; whole school of magic can be suppressed with either Mind Blank, or inherent immunity

It's rules legit; if your GM is appreciative of other characters who are being just as effective, then he may not believe your build is fair (To which he would be mistaken).

If you're outshining everyone, you may be playing at an optimization level that he didn't want to see. That would be on both of you to accommodate eachother.

Either way, it's important to approach it as honest, mature adults; after all, you guys are hanging out to have fun. See if there is anything, on either side, that can lead to resolution.

:P well you too, I like your character but I meant baltoss

Why, thanks for the complement! I have high hopes for my first Pbp, and I'm sure you can deliver RJ.

I'd say it's possible; just pay special attention to 6th lvl casters, and Paladin for efforts in balancing spells from a 9th lvl list, as a 4th lvl list.

Truthfully, I've never found Bloodragers to use the direct damage spells that they receive, and instead focus on buff spells, and utility. Given how the Cleric list is more of THAT then direct damage, it may synergize very strongly

Annnnd, to the Gameplay thread we go.

Just a test. My posts are longer, no worries.

Conall was confused.

"Who said that? What happened to the Legacy? Am...I dead? Are you the First!?"

Conall O'Kanis:
Conall is a Half-Orc Oracle, who did not take Fortune's Favored and Sacred Tattoo!

This is Conall O'Kanis.

Conall O'Kanis..

I'm posting this in order to have a space to practice formats on the website, which I'm not well versed in. If you need practice too, feel free to use this space, and I can help tell if thinks like links work from my end.

@baltoss I'll add you to my list of alternatives incase someone drops.

Sure thing, thanks for the consideration

I'd like to propose an Oracle centered around a god from my homebrew world and campaign setting: Ommeraine, the flooded world.

I'll have to pick one, but I'll bring with me a character infused with the culture of my home setting, as well as being able to provide a write up of their deity that is AS detailed as Inner Sea gods (Formatted to match that system.)

I'll also note: My periods of activity online can be:
(Canada, Quebec) 7:30am-9:00am and 8:30pm-11:00pm
On the weekend, it can vary, because I have my own games in person, but I can usual do: 9:00am-11:00am, and Saturday is usually free for me.

The thing is; ALL kingdom checks are compared to the Control DC. It is possible for the crown's men to fail at collecting taxs at all, and overwhelming size, civil unrest, and inept economics can all lead to that 0 revenue. It makes sense that if you need to beat the DC.

That being said; in my Kingdoms minigame that I'm playing with my friends, all of us have economy so high from Foundry + Multiple mines that our economies are all 10 points OVER our Control DC. So, we only fail on ones. It's just incentive to emphasize a strong economy score.

It sounds like the character is being mutated into a Tiefling.

Tieflings can have prosthetic tails, can cast as a default option: Darkness 1/day. They have darkvision. One of the alternate racial options for Tiefling on the 100 options chart has SOMETHING to do with undead, but I forget what.

If your character is changing overtime, your GM may like the idea of Tieflings coming into their heritage around puberty, and now your character is undergoing fiendish mutation.

Many of my players have tried to use Blood Money to generate infinite money.
I've usually tried to handle it in world; The local blacksmith guild is pissed off about your Masterwork Transformation schemes, so they hire an assassin.

But recently, I've had to set the rationale on the table, and just say: "What is the point of playing Pathfinder after you have that? You want to skip to having +5 Vorpal Scimitars, +5 Adamantine Fullplate w/ Spell resistance, and filling every magic item slot with powerful wonderous items? At lvl 3?

What's the point after that? Where's the journey, and overcoming trials?
It can be really frustrating as a GM..

Also to be noted: If you want to be able to resist buffs, many list a saving throw. You don't need spell resistance to display that you are resisting spells; just roll your saving throw whenever they try to buff you, and the effort is there.

I'd advise the player to use the Superstitious drawback, to represent the character having a mistrust of magic. The 50% chance is the character fighting off their paranoid/anxiety/anger etc against magic, and allowing it to happen.

If the character is a barbarian w/ the Superstition rage power, the rage would be too high of an emotional state to allow trying to fight off the compulsion to resist.

As for having Spell resistance, I'd suggest the Untouchable Bloodrager instead. This way, everything is Paizo, and synergizes well.

If we are using the premise of a character who is mistrustful of magic, and later awakens to find out magic has been cast on him during his sleep, that is going to generate an intense anxiety of it happening again.

In the character's mind, they would suffer anger, or a panic attack at the premise, and would very likely find it difficult to sleep at all, much less nap, around their 'friends' who keep subjecting them to their anxiety.

Progression of Power:
As more material for Pathfinder is written, is has to get slightly stronger over time to keep relevant and interesting.

However, even if they (Assassin prestige class, Ninja, and Slayer) were all written at the same time, the Assassin gains Death attack at lvl 6 earliest, while Ninja/Slayer get it at 10th. Earlier learned, for a weaker overall ability.

You COULD consider having fun at his expense: Create a character concept whose opposite is ridiculous and boring, or extremely convoluted.

I find world building can be really easy once you have a map.
My method of world building is to take a blank hex map, similar to Kingmaker, and then roll on d20pfsrd's exploration section to generate random terrain until all the hexes are made. Then, you can either place settlements in whatever locations seem interesting, or do as I do w/ my friends and use Ultimate Campaign's kingdom system to generate Kingdoms from the ground up, and have them organically spread across the land.

It works really well for us, and it's also a fun game, where my players, and me all get to play as equals. We're all looking forward to our 'Next year of Kingdoms', (IE 12 turns each).

Now I wanna make a character who isn't an Assassin, because he agrees to kill people on if his contractor has an exclusively emotional/personal vendetta.

"No no, I'm not an ASSASSIN. They dabble in POLITICS. I have no appreciation for politics."

I'll sign up for playing a Wizard, or Cleric. I tend to pick up social skills with traits/race, etc.

If we could have some info on the theme of the adventure.

Sorry; repeating posts

Kitsune can assume a human form as a racial ability, at-will. Atleast he's trying to be one of those, and not a gripli, or something in that vein.

Hey there, just wanted to say I'm very interested in joining my first PbP...but have no idea how to do so!

I'm a practiced GM and Player for paper Pathfinder; I'm just not certain about the play by post format.

If you'd be willing to explain, or direct me to a new player thread, I'd be game for this session.

I do best with Social Casters, or Social Warriors, but can fit any niche.

When I was attempting to pay for Fire Mountain's Way of the Wicked Book 6: Wages of Sin, the site would tell me after every attempt that my payment method (my credit card), was unsuccessful. I believed it was a problem with my company (RBC), who was having difficulties relating to Credit card info at the same time.

However, upon calling my credit card company, they said that the transaction for Wages of Sin had been accepted 7 or so times. I naturally only want to purchase it ONCE.

Please message back; I'm not sure how to resolve this; I'd hope for a refund on the extra downloads of Wages of Sin, given how the Paizo website was misinforming me, saying that it WASN'T accepting my payment methods.

Thank you

One thing that comes to mind about Focuses and the extracts is that technically, Fly and True Strike could be on your spell list, to allow you to create Potions of those spells, using Brew Potion. It seems unusual, but it does work as written this way.
