If your small group of friends can't find the way to top 33 or you still didn't decided where to join look closer at Mystical Awakening.
* DEYS are pvp oriented group working within Army Corps with excellent support of Civil Corp, our crafters and settlement builders. You can join to those existing organizations or move here with your own chartered company.
* Majority of our members in our community are from EU but we also have strong presence in US or Aussie time zones.
* Our location AA offers very good amounts of ore around which we will concentrate our crafting buildings.
* Npc Town 4 hexes away for early training and crafting.
* Emerald Spire 5 hexes away.
* Mystical Awakening is a part of Norther Coalition. A group of settlements located in Norther part of the map near npc town, Thornkeep.
Under NC rules all members respect non aggression pact which helps with exploration, pve, resource gathering.
* Mystical Awakening is part of first PFO nation, Empire of Xeilias. Settlements within our nation pledge mutual defense and cooperation in War of Towers. In addition each settlement will specialize in separate role/profession or crafting buildings and make easy access to them for the members of the empire. With the limited amount of buildings per settlement no single settlement, no matter how strong, can give you that.

For the career soldiers of Mystical Awakening, the art of war must transcend the occasional skirmish or raid. For its seasoned veterans, only the grandeur of empire building can provide the depth and breadth of combat that Mystical Awakening desires. To this end, Mystical Awakening hereby joins its destiny with that of the Empire of Xeilias - the first nation of PFO.

With years of PvP experience in a myriad of titles, Mystical Awakening looks forward to plying their skills for the prosperity and glory of the Empire.

It is my great pleasure to announce that the settlement of Mystical Awakening is joining to the Northern Coalition.

Their ideas are similar and their vision about region matches with ours. I would like to thank all members for accepting us, through this cooperation we will achieve our goals.

PHO :)

yes, I shouldn't write this post before my first cup of coffee...

Anyway if I may quote from previous response - what qualifies as "meaningful PvP" and "positive gameplay"? Community here like everywhere else is divided on answer to this question. Large majority of current backers will aim toward making pvp meaningful as possible. Yes there will be raids on your settlement, caravans or attacks on single miner or hunter-gatherer - it's a part of the game and not griefing. Like Nihimon mentioned earlier there will be mechanics in game to prevent that. Reason behind those activities will be most likely loot and not something malicious.

I run out of time, Elder Scrolls are calling :) I will check this thread later.

I cannot claim that I read all posts, responses and counter-responses on these forums but it seems to me that the majority of this community feels negative about pvp.
I certainly understand the view of people wishing to travel safely through the River Kingdoms, explore or trade, build settlements and live in peace free of any fighting. This dream could only happen on a pve server and we know this is not possible. PHO will offer a variety of tools to help with that dream but without strong support from the armies (pvp players) your area will be overtaken by others. Forum declarations will always lose to reality in game.

Territorial control is the main attraction of this game for larger crowds. Ability to form alliances, pacts, coalitions to enforce your law, taxes, control resources - this is what drives the community in EVE Online. Believe or not it will also drive the community here.

We all want PHO to succeed but without thousands, tens of thousands more backers this game will in the long run die because of financial problems. When costs are greater than income you fire staff members to lower your costs, slowing work and implementation of new futures and it's a downward spiral from there.
PHOs current support has been drawn mostly from Pathfinder fans, D&D 3.5 Edition ruleset etc. From the numbers on Landrush you all can see it's not enough. We need to extend our hand and show through the Alpha/Beta phase that Pathfinder online is a fun and dynamic game and not a clone of WURM pve server.

This is not the only game currently under development which will offer similar futures, RvR Camelot Unchained comes to mind, with similar Alpha and approx. release dates. Some might argue that PHO is a completely different type of game, but I believe on the current gaming market with so many new sandbox/themepark games incoming in 2015 we need all the help we can get...

So my fellow PHO backers, embrace the possibility of daily pvp, fighting for control of the towers and skirmishes with your neighbors - get ready for it because wanted or not, pvp is the major part of Pathfinder Online.

Death Ends Your Sorrow. It's a name that clicks in my head, but I can't remember where from.

This is correct, it's Death Ends Your Sorrow. We are using it since Warhammer Online.

KDS part of the alliance which I represent is an military dictatorship guild.

So the white Xs.

Effectively the map has three core terrain tiers:
1. The Lowlands: Croplands (or Plains) and Swamplands. These run from the river for a ways west and most of the map south of the map from the map from the Thornkeep sourcebook. Think of these as various severities of flood plains that at some point in past centuries have flooded with some regularity (or in the case of the swamps are permanently flooded). We're treating the river much like the Mississippi in that it floods, changes course, and is really huge.
2. The Midlands: Highlands (Hills) and Woodlands (Forest). These are higher elevation in that they do not flood. There is some manner of mild cliff edge around them that is where the flood waters have reached, so you need to find places where roads have been carved out of these cliffs are passable, someplace there has been a landslide, etc. One day if we have a fully implemented climbing system there may be other ways to navigate these, but day one of EE there isn't.
3. The Mountains: Mountain and mountainous forest terrain. When traveling through mountains people use mountain passes to avoid having to travel far more dangerous, steep routes. The white Xs are those passes. Getting the mountains otherwise are too steep to pass.

We did this for several reasons.
1. Making the mountains look cool and sufficiently high to be mountains but making them all traversible was not compatible. Basically in our game we want you to go into the mountains other MMOs use as zone borders, so we need a space in them to get you past the sheer mountain faces.
2. We wanted to create some more interesting territory control aspects for settlements to deal with.
3. We wanted to create some more limitations on trade and routes as you can't drive a catapult or wagon up a cliff. This there will be areas that become more active trade routes since they are the passages between terrain tiers.

I am working on a version of the map with the terrain tiers more clearly delineated.

Very good idea, X's will provide us with lot of pvp and trading/transport goods will require involvement of many people.

On the subject of using metric system, despite of being american it's not hard to recognize it will work well here.
