late to the party, very, very late but just wanted to add my praise for a well written and fun journal. Like most I will lift ideas for my own solo play and story I am writing but wanted to say thank for providing so much great content and story.

Your party sound awesome and i will definitely be reading the rest of the journals as I get to those AP.

Hope your are all well and enjoying great games and great food together still

About a hundred feet outside the ramparts stood a large funeral pyre. As they passed closer to it, Navan and Shalelu noticed that it had been built recently. Clearly, death was a frequent occurrence in this place.

The two companions were...

Well written and really brought the Fort and its defenders to life and then their unfortunate demise.

I used ghouls with hit and run tactics trying to paralyse and drag off a victim to pick the group off. Being chased through the woods by an enemy they could not see with the atmosphere set just right gave them a memorable encounter

One npc left the party to scarred to travel outside of a city after nearly being dragged off and eaten and one pc decided to chase one despite the lack of darkvision and lost an eye in the process!

Getting to the control room would let them (or maybe Master Quink) activate the Old Light to defend Sandpoint from the giants? That seems a nice hook for your party.

11th level foes - mobs of vrocks (very apropos for the Runelord of Wrath), enhance some efreetis a bit, maybe some fire elemental guards.

Sure someone would have already suggested this or you have thought of it yourself when they came out but obviously Roderics Cove in Return gives you the design for a hellfire flume map wise which you can then fill with creatures etc you see fit and appropriate :)

This is some great stuff and some really unexpected twists love how you have dealt with them and the players pushed through the characterisation even though it put them at odds with one another.

Going to catch up with the rest of the stuff now :)

Since my players have decided to keep and renovate Thistletop, I had Titus Scarnetti stop by under the guise of greeting them as lumber mill customers--reminding them that through some crazy random happenstance, there's only the one left standing--and then tell them in no uncertain terms that he was not going to stand for them thinking that they were in any way the equals of members of the noble's council. So hopefully that will throw them off a bit.

I've seen this option mentioned a couple of times but no one seems to have mentioned using Adimar who as a were rat also provides other interesting twists and tales that can be woven in to things

Unless they meet another inspired expert like Quink, their next brush with Thassilonian lore will be the library in Book 4.

This may have been answered a long time ago but i had Lyrie in town as a 'student' researching and using Quink to try and help solve some of the issues there were having and the player started to use her as their resource was caused all sorts of fun later!

look forward to this tomorrow night

sounds great and a decent time for us in Europe to join live :)
