Ameli winces as she's bandaged up, fighting through the pain after being mauled for a second time, "This is the worst..." She mumbles before taking a breath and focusing herself. She quickly took advantage of the opening provided by two of the lions dropping to run back to where she had fallen before, grabbing the bottle from the ground and pouring the contents over her weapon! ◆ Stride
"Hah?" The mention of invisibility potions set the otherwise enthusiastic halfling on edge, her eyes scanning the environment for any disturbance or something out of place that might hint that something was amiss. All the while one hand retrieved a small vial of gleaming oil from her waist pouch, while the other rested on the sword at her hip, ready to draw if trouble leapt at them.
The halfling raised a brow at the woman's suddenly more cautious demeanor, especially in regards to their 'boss', "Well the last round was certainly a surprise, though our opponents seemed to have been informed in advance given the amount of setup." She states, keeping her tone friendly, if not a bit suspicious, "Also this boss of yours seems pretty well connected if they can set up an 'underground' fight near such a high profile place." She hummed, the roar of the stone lions earns a brief flinch from her as they pass, however, breaking her concentration for a moment.
Ameli gives a - rather genuine, rather than acting a part - proud chuckle at the praise of her strength, even going so far as to show off just a bit more by giving her blade a nimble twirl before returning it to its sheath. "Indeed, I'm rather curious as well. Been a few years since I've been out this way last, and I don't remember anything so lively back then." She chimes in, seconding Gilgamesh's question.
"Ah, that's it?" Ameli raised a brow as the fight seemed to end as quickly as it had begun. With a hum she tucked her sling away and took a moment to wipe off her blade before letting Maneki tend to her bruised shoulder, "Appreciated."
As Vionnia stepped out, the halfling perked up a bit, standing herself upright and doing her best to cut an imposing figure despite her lacking stature, sizing the woman up all the while to get a feel for what sort of person they were working with, "Well of course, that lot were hardly in any shape for a real fight; makes for a better show to win with a handicap than to roll over them and barely give the audience a chance to warm up right?" She bragged, resting her blade over her good shoulder, swaggering about while speaking.
Ameli winces from the impact, feet skidding a bit as she manages to keep her footing, "Hmph... Lucky shot." She mutters before deciding to fall back, not wanting to get surrounded in a spot like this. As she skids to a stop beside Maneki, she shifts her grip on her sword and pulls a loaded sling from her belt, ready to engage at range if their opponents continue throwing rocks. ◆ Stride
"Well... This seems less sporting that I had anticipated." Ameli hums as she looks out at the gathered rabble, surveying the field for a moment before marching out, "Let's not be too rough with them if we can help it eh?" She calls back to her party before adopting a defensive stance at the edge of the wet zone. ◆ Stride

Ameli enjoys her meat pie while the others get changed, deciding to simply cast off her coat and let her hair down from her ponytail, leaving her in just her breastplate over a button-up shirt, brown trousers, and sturdy boots. "Well, grave diggers have to dig a lot right? It's in the name at all; so I'd imagine they probably have SOME bulk on them." She muses in response to Gwen's disappointment while admiring the faint glow encircling her blade from the enchantment, "In any case, I'm ready when you guys are." She states, popping the last bit of crust into her mouth and brushing her hands off before hefting her sword and resting it over her shoulder as the steps up, awaiting the signal.
What do you mean by provisions? You get your school item and Hero Points. They changed it when they rolled out the remaster stuff to remove schools (for anyone that didn't already choose one anyhow), instead scenarios give you free consumables based on level. I went with an oil of potency, incidentally.
Ameli smirks as Orion realizes the logistics of his suggestion, "I'm certain my coat would pass as a shirt well enough, though I wouldn't recommend fighting while wearing it like that." She chuckles then shrugs, "Honestly I could probably go as is, given I haven't been operating in the field for too long and I had mostly been assisting my parents with their merchant business until recently."
Gilgamesh turns over his Wayfinder as well. "If it is illegal, why don't we report it to the proper authorities instead? Unless this concerned friend is one of them and knows better than to entrust the matter to themselves." he infers from the matter shared to them by the venture-captain. "It's possible we're being sent in to gather concrete proof of the goings on, or to scout out where it's being held so the authorities can actually act on the matter." Ameli speculates, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
Ameli frowns a bit, glancing over her shoulder as the group departs, keeping an eye on the figure seemingly tailing them but not speaking up just yet, figuring it'd just cause a ruckus if she did. Once they were inside the tackle-shop however she broke her silence, "Ah, so I'm not the only one who noticed." She nods to confirm Gilgamesh's claim before clearing her throat a bit, "Also Ameli Hearthscale, a pleasure to work with all of you, or at least so I hope." She states with a bow and a chipper tone.
"Haven't been out this way since I was litte." The diminutive young woman hangs from the railing to look over the edge, boot-clad legs kicking in the air beneath her green greatcoat; her pony tail whipping in the wind as the ship sails towards their destination, "Never really got a good chance to look around back then, hopefully this time will be different, hmmhmm..." She chuckles, clearly eager for whatever Oppara had in store for them.
"I'm sorry to say but your... "Prisoners" are likely missing in part because of the neglect this place's exterior has suffered over the years." She states before glancing to Penny, letting the goblin handle the negotiations proper... Something she never thought she'd ever find herself doing, admittedly, but he'd proven himself reliable so far...
"We've managed to get most of the other inhabitants of this place on board with the plan, I believe. As the others have said, at least establishing contact with the outside world would be beneficial to refurbishing this place and maybe turning it into something more than just a prison." Ameli urges, though she wasn't quite sure how to properly approach negotiating with this particular doll.
Ameli once more finds herself agreeing with the goblin, nodding fervently, "Yes, assuming you don't remain at your current size when we leave this place, I'm certain there are many caravans that would pay a hefty sum to have a guardian like you. Really, what traveler in their right mind wouldn't love having a living suit of armor to protect them from bandits, wolves, and other such hazards on the road?"
Ameli samples the food, hesitantly at first, but then eagerly, tasting a little bit of everything on offer. A nicer meal than one would expect from a "prison" for certain... Though she couldn't help but feel it was lacking in some aspects. She rubbed her chin and moved to investigate the pantry in question, nodding along as she made note of the selection of ingredients and spices before rejoining the group. "Indeed, indeed!" She agrees with Penny Pockets' assertion, tapping into her merchant heritage and practically leaping into a sales pitch, "The food you present here is delicious, of course, but it could be even more so! I've seen and tasted for myself the culinary wonders that exist outside these walls... Cumin and Cardamom from Qadira, chili oil and fish sauce from Tian Xia, Varisian fen peppers... The options are only slightly less endless than the possibilities they offer!" She argues animatedly, talking as much with her hands as her mouth.
"I don't like either implication..." Ameli shakes her head, looking over the torn sleeve of her coat to make sure the damage wasn't too bad, "Because something tells me we're going to run into giant bugs along the way... And I hate bugs enough at their normal size." She shudders a bit as she says this, looking around for a moment to see if she can't track down Sweeper.
"Geh, get off me!" Ameli shouts as the mouse snaps at her, wincing through the pain as she reaches for her sword, drawing it and slashing at the offending mouse in the same motion before bringing her gauntlet clad fist down on the one beside her! ◆ Draw Weapon
Ameli rubs her chin and thinks hard about what the doll was saying, "A prison huh? And the 'inmates' disappeared all of a sudden and you all feel more 'free'? Maybe that's what they meant by the hag incident 'affecting' the dollhouse?" She mused to herself before giving a firm nod, "Well, freeing the downtrodden from magical prison worlds and the like is true hero work if the books I've read are anything to go by, so there's no harm and going along with this for now I think!" She states confidently as she follows after Sweeper.
When presented with Tartan she leaps forward, intent of striking a heroic pose and declaring her intent to rescue the inhabitants of the dollhouse and extol the wonders of the outside world... Only to kick up a cloud of dust and fall into a coughing fit before she could get a word out.
Ameli blinks a few times, somewhat thankful for her lower center of gravity as the world seems to tumble around her as her perspective is forcefully shifted and body seemingly displaces, "What in the world?" She looks around, stepping to one side to avoid being bowled over by the roving dustball. "Warden? World outside?" The halfling blinked a few more times as the apparent doll bombarded the party with information, "Wait is this inside the dollhouse?" She realized suddenly before composing herself, adjusting her coat and stepping up alongside the seemingly unfazed goblin as they introduce themself, "Ahem... Ameli Hearthscale. Now who, may I ask, is this warden you speak of?"
"Ah." Ameli perks up as the others give their introductions, pivoting on her heels away from the table to face the group, "Ameli Hearthscale, a pleasure to meet you all." She gives a shallow bow in greeting, before looking to Pennypockets, "And a lovely limerick, that. I've never met a goblin with an interest in poetry before." She compliments before turning back towards the doll house. With a curious hum she gets up on tip-toes once more, "I wonder..." She murmurs, reaching out to touch one finger to the odd hazy layer over the dollhouse's interior to see if there was any reaction.
Ameli, a short, black haired young woman in a heavy green greatcoat over softly clanking armor, slowly circled the table to get a good look at the doll house, occasionally getting up on tip toes to get a better look, "Poor thing looks like it could use a bit of love and elbow grease." She hummed, if not for the odd, hazy distortion over the interior compartments she'd have written it off as nothing more than a normal - if heavily weathered - doll house. "I wonder what they meant by it being 'affected' by the hag incident." She mused, resting her hands on the table as she leaned in to try to get a better look past the haze.
Also claiming an Oil of Potency in place of the minor healing potion for pathfinder provisions.Unfortunately for Quests, you will not be receiving any Pathfinder Provisions. They are for Scenarios only. Ah, good to know for future reference, sorry about that. Still kinda getting used how things work and the remaster changes shuffling things around has taken a bit of figuring out on my end. |
