The white-haired warrior blinked dumbly for a moment at the tengu's outstretched hand for a moment before giving her head a brief shake and accepting it in a firm hold. "I, ah... I may be one such woman I suppose. I am Akarine, Daughter of Rudo." She bowed her head then in a polite nod before offering one in a similar fashion to the remainder of the party in question until she looked to Rosalyn once more with a a bit of a shrug.

"There is little in the city here not open to travelers - save the drilling grounds, we welcome any and all provided they follow our law keenly. The archives in particular are welcoming to scholars and philosophers should that be of interest, though it is a ways from the wharf." Again she shrugged, rucksack clanking softly against the back of her breastplate in the move. "I know of the paths here, which there are many, but I know not you. What is it you intend to find here? Room and board perhaps?"

For a moment the woman chewed upon her lower lip in thought, scanning Rosalyn over a second or third time as she stood in silence. Before long she had looked out to the bay, another sigh rolling through her as she felt at the half-empty purse hanging off her belt. "A local guide would help? Forming an adventuring group too?" she parroted with eyes off in the distance. "I suppose I could help you out there then; Cyrene is a big place for such a little island."

"There," she said with a point out towards a rising hill to the east capped in white stone walls with a towering fort at it's center. "There is where you want to go if you truly want to know of the island and our history - Valdosta the Conquer lives there. Surely you have heard of her before?" Her wave then swept westwards and along a wide path, easily large enough to accommodate a trio of wagons abreast with room in the gutters to spare. A few robed merchants hawked their wares of spices and steel and scrolls, some brightly-clad entertainers tumbling through or spitting fire out for tips from the travelers. "...though here is where you will find your drinks! There is a taphouse no more than two blocks this way, just past the Emporium, filled to the brim with sell-swords. You would find yourself in good company there no doubt, but it is most certainly a bit... seedy." Akarine offered a sheepish grin at her own remark.

Sorry with the slow posts! Seems like I'm working when you all are already at home!

After having come and gone from the taphouse several silver pieces lighter, Akarine meandered along the docks - there was little for her now until sun set and that was hours from now, giving her ample time to walk the streets of Cyrene while light-headed from the liquor she downed minutes ago. Just as she rounded the corner at the edge of Arcadia Avenue the white-haired maiden took note of the wolf leaping and meeting it's target before racing away, drawing a hard frown to her lips as her gaze flitted back towards the goblinoid and his furry (and feathered) company. She started to speak up from her place on the docks but instead shook her head, starting down towards the group with another wordless sigh.

The woman approached slowly, sure to keep a number of feet back as though to listen in on the conversation for a moment until she stood in close to the gang. "You ought to be careful," Akarine said as she gestured down the way after the wolf with a wave. "Amazed the guards did not come in to wrestle the thing down. The stables are just down Rovinga's Way - it would be wise to keep your friend there or on a leash rather than on top of anyone else." She took a moment to look Goandai over from head to toe a time or two then, arms folded smartly across her steel breastplate before her hazel eyes flicked from one traveler to the next and back again in quiet appraisal.

Go to one little baseball game after work and next time I check the thread all of this has happened! Gah!

Introduction:
It was a miserable little pit.

The acrid stench of sulfur and musk hung heavy in the air, stinging Akarine's nose. The white haired woman sniffled and rubbed at her watering eyes with the back of a hand before muttering a long string of swears just below her breath as she leaned against the door frame - the alchemist had seemed to take his sweet time to find her payment as he rummaged about the back room with a series of clatters, clanks, and cracks. With a sigh Akarine brushed across the front of her heavy breastplate, thumbing at a smudge of dirt.

She had been working as a courier for nearly a month now at the port in Cyrene to earn a meager keep. The room and board she could afford was of a higher quality she was accustomed to in the army but that was not saying much. A gold here, a handful of silvers there, it was enough to keep in good company and good enough spirits while saving to earn a ticket off the island (eventually); she had left the temple to strike out for adventure and landed herself in the army before leaving to look for more, but outside a few street scuffles and a flirty few winks with serving girls there was little to engage her.

Finally the wizened merchant had returned from the storeroom with a toothless grin to hand her a small purse and a slender few phials of a murky green liquid along with a quick few nods. Akarine returned the gesture after counting out the coin in the palm of her hand and storing the glass tubes in slots along her bandolier before stepping back into the streets with another drawn-out sigh. The Headstrong Hound seemed like a poor tavern to go to for the evening, but it was about all she could afford at that juncture.

Well, that's good. Pretty much done with everything for Akarine now outside of a little cleanup regarding her fluff and putting in some bit about the possible for the Mythic Destiny (leaning towards Fated since it's really the 'easiest', going towards Marshal since it plays off Cha and martial stuff)

Money do we, get 50gp, roll for class, take max or average GM

Was in an earlier post - you take the average for the class.

Suppose I can pick it up rather than Mending since I can just take that up later on (when there might be potential for some sundering attacks). Can't believe I passed over that before. Also have Create Water since, you know, utility. Not like many of the other 0 level slots are particularly good.

Pigtails here. After a long time debating of whether I should stick with the Phalanx Soldier idea (and a lot of flip-flopping between Magus and Fighter) I decided to play an Oracle since I've never tried one out before! Looks to be an interesting class to say the least, though it does make me a little upset that a lot of the 'scrying' effects are locked into the Seer archetype - may have to switch around a feat and take it so I can make the concept I have in mind (although it is decidedly ineffective as far as combat capabilities are concerned!)

Will PM you in a sec Pyros about faith and all of that jazz.
