Physical Description:
With high cheekbones, almond shaped eyes, and a pointed chin it seemed as though Akarine may have had elven blood in her lineage somewhere in the family tree though her lack of refined physical grace made it apparent that the woman's link could not have been more than tenuous at best. Her hair was long and white save for a few auburn strands that intermingled with the otherwise snowy locks, typically set in thick braids with golden bands about the ends. She came in only a few inches short of six feet tall with arms and legs of finely toned muscle that showed a certain dedication to battle, bearing a smattering of pale scars along her otherwise fine olive skin.

Typically the young woman wore gear that was more functional over formal; leather breaches and thick vests with numerous pockets were common whereas frilly lace and golden trim was markedly lacking. Her boots seemed to be perpetually scuffed and covered in dust and gore in a way similar to her heavy chest piece and battered shield as though she cared little to clean her vestments of war.

Personality:
Akarine was a fiery woman, passionate and proud to a fault. At her best the girl was rebellious, ambitious, and impulsive - at worst she was downright anarchistic and (needlessly) reckless; she always seemed to have a strong opinion with an equally strong sword arm to back it up, something she was never afraid to utilize should emotions run too high in a debate. She was rather outspoken on matters of law and authority and fate when compared to the typical view on such in her homeland so it went without saying that she had plenty of time to hone her arguments and skull-cracking abilities.

That was not to say she did not strive to do good though, as often she went to painful lengths to ensure the freedom and well-being of those around her regardless of affiliation or philosophy. Akarine was in no way altruistic, but she did value liberty beyond her own life and actively fought to maintain it in whatever way possible. She was likewise a staunch defender of equality, justice, and a democratic approach to all matters regardless of how 'imperfect' the implementation might be.

Background:

A WORK IN PROGRESS

Born of a cleric and a historian, Akarine grew into a household of odd company, queer relics, and aged writings. Like many other young children she ached to explore the city of Cyrene and the ruins upon which it sat but she was rarely given the chance - as soon as she was capable, the girl was tasked with sorting and scribing texts of heroes long past and holy manuscripts spoken by the evangelists. In the brief moments she had to roam and play with her peers Akarine often was caught up in play fights and other mischief to come home with a fair number of bruises as late as she could manage before begrudgingly returning to her previous duties.

When she was twelve, Akarine was struck with a vision. The image lasted only a minute but it was a profound enough to send the young girl to the city temple with haste. In her brief glimpse of the future she witnessed a city on fire with skies bright with lightning and streets filled with blood - an ill omen to be sure. She sought out the philosophers for guidance but she was afforded none. It was then the sages she asked who gave her no support. Finally she went to the diviners, which offered an insight into her vision: it seemed as though she was set to stand as a divine warrior in service of her goddess and her country.

By the time she had turned twenty the white haired woman had been enlisted in the Cyrene army for long enough to earn a comfortable place among fellow battle-priests as well as a fair sum of gold. After the campaign against the hordes of Xeneys Scarhorn, a minotaur lord whose clan had ravaged the nearby city-state of Anan and threatened to burn Cyrene to the ground, Akarine left the service - her visions showed no real threats in the future and so believed her talents to be put to better use elsewhere in the world.

In her brief travels outside her home, Akarine has taken on a number of odd jobs involving bounties, delivering alchemical letters, and everything in between to finance her island hopping off the coast of the Central Kingdoms. She carries no banner now with no real aim or purpose save to better herself martially and mentally.
