Giving Aisling an imperious glare, the disguised teen fingers the Asmodean holy symbol she wears on a chain around her neck and growls, "I've got that role covered, sniveling Iomedaen rebel!" Uneasy using such a tone with Aisling, even in jest, Jessibel chirps a quick, "Just kidding! And practicing!" Asiling looks a bit guilty at Jessi's unease. Am I really that stern? Doing her best to play along with her game, she overacts and gives a fierce rebel-looking scowl. "That's Lady Rebel to you, because that's what I am! I'm a nonstop rebel! A rebel without a pause!" At the Tooth and Nail, she buys a few drinks for the others but stays in the background as mucb as she can. She understands the importance of cover stories but she isn't really comfrotable with them, they're too much like lying.
Aisling gives a soft laught as Lemma spouts her idea. "I think you jsut comited heresy against three difrent religions there!" She gives Raven a nod of approval. "That is a sound plan, there are things that can go wrong but I think we can adapt. I'm happy to let you do the talking." She makes a pained expression. "Just as long as I don't ahve to wear one of Asmodus symbols."
Asiling frowns when Jessi tells her story. "That god is tricyk." She delibretly doesn't name him. "It would be just like his folowers to make us believe they were destroyed when they're still around to cause troulbe."
I agree, scrolls are bad things to use in combat - they take too many actions to use. Let's sell them.
Aisling nods. "I think taht's fair. We have a deal."
Thanks for doing the acounts! I sort of figure that later stuf we find won't be Ailing's thing so much, so I'm happy to grab the gear that works for me and let the rest of you get whatever works for you.
Asiling nods at Ruba. "As teh legal consultant to this team, I can let you know what we need." Well, it's true, she thingks to hersefl. I do let them know what is and isn't legal.
Aisling tries not to roll her eyes too hard as teh Raven waxes lyriacal about the nonexistent play. Still, at least he sounds convincing. "We'd be very grateful for your help. And we can ceratinly pay for your time."
Aisling is curious enough to fllow Jessi outside where she is faced with mexed feelings. On teh one hand, Jessi is cleaerly thrilled to have such a new toy. On the other hand, it's not exactly stealthy. But then, nor is her own armour. "Very nice." is about all she can manage. She hopes she isn't daming with faint praise. She waits with the others to see how the RAven's deception works.
Oh, 750 is a nice amount! Tahnks :) I do actualy have some points in Linguistics, but would you accept pofression barrister as a substute, given these are legal documents? It's still forgery either way, but Aisling would feel mauch better about it ;)
Aisling nods in agreement with Nyxra - she is also surprised by the Raven coming up with a bworkable plan. "I should be able to find out soe of that information."

Aisling looks more serious. "Law should be about justiece. Anyone who doesn't understand that needs to be reminded." As Setrone reopens the tavern, her stomach growls at her - how long has it been since she last ate? "I think we'd all plan better on a full stomach."
Aisling has to crack a smile at Lemma's comment. "True, but for the Thrunes the only REAL law is don't get caught. As long as you present the right forms and follow the rihgt procedures you can do what you like." She puauses for a moment. "Don't, uh, tell my high priestes I said that."
Aisling thinks about it quickly. "We'd need the prisoner ID numbers, their names, and some knowledge of which dottari captains are not assigned close by to the Holding House, so as to best ensure that the deceit goes undiscovered. I'm not sure how to get that, but if we can do it we would wkla out of there and they would hold the doors open for us. Plus it would be a waya of showing Octarvio that we can act within the law when needed."
Taht's the problem - I dan't think of anything in this situatoin that would work - unless we could somehow get teh right paperwork and jsut walk out with the prisoners.
"Um... he demanded evidence we are not thugs just in this for the street fighting, so an example of us being subtle and willing to work within the law when possible." As someone who's carhacter is LG barrister, I would *love* to find a way of doing this that works within the law. Haeve we missed something?
And if the essays prove to be a real thing, I'm sitting next to Aisling so I can copy off her!
Aisling nods. "This is a big risk. We need as much infromation as we can get. What about asking the Fushi sisters to do soem scouting for us? They're a lot better at being stealthy than I am."
Aisling thinks about what she saw. "Teh guards were mostly there to stop people rioting, once the crowd has gone I think the guards will probly leave too. Which makes it more likely that we'll succeed if we try to rescue him on the way back to wherever they're keeping him."
"Not everything can be solved with warrants and affidavits, lady Eagle. Sometimes you just need to take action when an opportunity presents itself, before things get worse. You may not like improvisation, but I am quite good at that sort of thing. You may think everything can be solved through the law, but the law..." He locks goggles with Lemma, but looks away quickly and mutters "The law does not help everyone." A good laywyer doesn't show her exasperation when leading someone (judge, jury, whoever) to the conclusion she wants them to reach. So Aisling does her best not to roll her eyes. "Yes, Raven. I'm agreeing with you that smoetimes the law isn't going to get us where we want. So PLEASE take 'yes' for an answerr and put that energy into coming up with an idea that might work."
Aisling loojks around, hleplessly. Doing anything now would be really stupid, espcially as they haven't prepared for it. Not wanting to watch any more, she turns around and walks away fast. Once thy are off the street and back to somewhere they won't be overheard, she moves to stop the argument between Raven and Nyxra. "I would love nothing more than put an end to what they are doing. Come up with a plan - one that will acutlay work, I mean - and I promise I will be at the front of the line to join in."
I do't know whether that many hellnknighs plus the guard is a tough challenge or an impossible one. If it's the first, with a few rounds of pre-cassting (shield of faith, magic weapon) then we might be able to. If it's the second, then obvously not :(
Aisling tags along with teh others as they head back, not sayring very much. As they reach a junction in the roads, she stops dead as the sound of the crowd gets to her. Oen part of her knows that in the big picutre she can't save everyone, and that runing in without a plan isn't going to get things done. Organiseation, not improvisation, is the way to win this one. The other part of her knows tha waliking past someone being tortured and doing nothing is the opposited of good. She looks at teh others, with an agonised expression on her face as hte internal conflict is clearly visble. "I'm sorry. I do't think I can jsut walk away from this one."
Aisling sighs as her idea falls apart on closer inspection. "And it was such an elegant plan. Oh well. What other ideas do we have?"
Aisling gives it some thought, as she absently toys with the sybmol of Iomedae that hangs round her neck. "I prefer to work within the law when possible." She does some more thinking. "I've worked in both defence and prosecution, maybe I could get hold of a legitimate transfer order and we just add some names to it?"

Hello all Well *that* turned out to be unpleaesant. One of the ribs I broke last yuear re-broke and punctured my lung, thankfully my bf was around and drove me straight to hosipital. Trhow in a post-op infecton, some stupid-powerful antibiotics and painkillers and I'm up and about again, but stil moving slowly. It looks like I've missed a fair bit, so jsut thought I'd check to see if it's still ok for me to come back in?
Aisling narrows her eyes as she realises what's happening but does her best to kep her cool. This public troture has to be stopped, there are limits to what she will put up with . At the same time, rushing in will do more harm than good. She watches teh Raven as he makes his purchase. "Do you have a plan? Or were you just goin to mark it up as you go along?"
Asisling has let her legal practice slide a bit recently in all the exciemtent so she has missed the latest adition to Kintargo's criminal punishment statutes. She lets Jessi handle the talking to the dottari, although shes' not sure how helpful they will be.
Aisling frowns a bit. "It sounds like we have a good idea about what *not* to do next, but no clear picture about our next actual move."
Asilign's first thought on Thrune vs the Hellknights is to let them fight it out, but she does realise that letting the mayor get even *more* power is a really bad idea. She's releived to see the Fushi sisters. "Sounds like you had the right idea to lead them away. It's good to see you again though."
Aisling gives a slighlty crooked smile at Vantine's words. "If I wanted a safe life I woulnd't be a priestess of Iomedae in Cheliax." She gives the changeling a hug. "Goodbue. Be well."
It feels like i've run into a brikc wall with the conversation about Nox. I can't tell if its because I'm doig something wrong or if it's becuase the railroad, er sorry I mean the AP isn't set up to allow it right now.
Aisling rolls her eyes at the mention of teh Reclaramation. "Not all of us want to burn it all down to build from the ashes. But I heard Nox was at the Fantasmagoricum, is she not there any more?"

Aisling gives Jessi's shoulder a sympatetic squeeze. "It's not awlays easy to know what to do at teh time, and it's easy to look back afterward and see how ot do it diferently. If you want to aks advice in future, let me know."
Aisling hasn't said much as she was trying to take teh newcomer's measure. As Lemma finishes her story, she gives a nod. "WElcome. We need as much help as we can get, honsestly. What can you offer us?" As Narcelia pipes up, she turns round in surprise. She still iisn't sure what to make of her. "I would like to add Nox to tteh list. I don't like the fact she has seen us and I don't like the fact she's still out there. Trakcing her down and taking her down would send a good message."
I think we need more suporters for sure. Teh team I would want to upgrade is the Fushi sisters but if tehy arent around then I'm not sure what to do?
As my casting comes more online, I'm going to be less melee adn more command and cotrol. Downsied is I don't have many spare feats :(
Or theyn've sold us out for a better deal. Asilnig doess't say anything, but she remembers how they first made contact with the Fushis and it involved killinga at least one of them. She hopes she's wrong. "Is tehere anyone we can send out to find them? Our visilibyt is a bit high right now expecially after our brush with Nox. I'd like us to lie low for a bit if we can."

I don't think Nox was finished withh her work there and I *don't* wnat to run into her again unelss we're ready for her."
I don't think so unless we 'regerenated' our spell slots and channel/day when we leveled up? I put everything into that fight, there's 1 domain spell lef but I cant convert that to a cure spell.
Aisling shakes her head. "No they aren't bothering me. Shall we be on our way?"

Aisling isn't the best when unexpected things cop up so she hesitaets - and of course thes that hesitate are lost. She tries not to look embrassed as the others tell one unbelievable lie after another. Oh well. May as wel try to make the bets of it. "Actually, officers, if you aren't too busy dealing with these - birthday party people - maybe you could escort me away from here? I've had some dealings with the Barons assistant Nox and it took longer than I thought it wood. I hadn't realised curfew had strated." She gives them a smile, everyo word is true. She hopes that Nox name will make the guards too afraid to ask questions.
