I believe the orange-outlined enemy is the one on the wall, as the red one is holding kukris.

Grym's lip curls into a snarl once he has tended to Troyst. He drops the wand beside his fallen comrade, then steps beside Nym and fires a blunt arrow at the throat of the kukri-wielding opponent.

I'll be honest -- when I wrote Grym's last post, I hadn't noticed that we'd explored most of the map. I see no reason not to go ahead and replace the statue at this point.

Also, I like the role-play aspect of figuring out what to do with the slaves. I'm not seeing many more opportunities for inter-party banter in this scenario.

After another brief reflection on the situation regarding the slaves, he adds, "Might I suggest the cooking area we found earlier as a site for them to take quarterage?"

My guess is that Graestos' actions are written into the scenario.

Grym pauses for a split second in contemplation. He wants the protection of the slave, so I do not believe that life is in jeopardy -- yet.

The half-elf sidles along the perimeter of the room and wends his way through the columns before firing a cold iron arrow at the Aspis agent behind the magical grease.

Grym approaches the statue with his hands raised to the ceiling. He takes one step forward, then two steps backward while bowing deeply to the statue. He steps forward once to return to his original position, whirls one pace to his left, then spins two more circuits to his right. A final grandiose spin takes him back to his starting location, and the half-elf suddenly drops to his knees, with his hands on the floor and his head bowed to the statue.

I think the 'round down' rule kicks in and reduces the damage to zero unless stated otherwise.

Grym shivers uncontrollably as the wave of cold passes over him. He regains his composure and puts up a hand as Saphera suggests departing.

"While I do not recall what deity this icon represents, I do recollect reading about emanations such as the one we just experienced. This is, in some measure, a ritual of indebtedness for the goddess' protection. I believe I know an antiphon to end the effect."

If you like, I can make up a ritual, or does the scenario specify what should be done?

"Unless someone objects, I will carry the thunderstone. A good loss of hearing might help these otyughs learn the value of the written word. Let us hasten, before they destroy aught else."

If I remember right, conjuration spells like grease aren't dismissible, but it shouldn't be a problem once combat is over.

Grym tries to stifle a smile as the last Aspis agent falls, but he fails. His face quickly returns to a serious look, though he breathes a sigh of relief as Troyst rises from the floor.

Hopefully the battles to come will not be in such awkward environs.

The half-elf conveys his reconnaissance to the rest of the party. He then turns to the fire, searching for any manuscripts that might have survived the Aspis agents' lack of concern for history.

Grym skirts behind Saphera and Middy as he makes his way around the passage from which the fallen Aspis warrior emerged. His eyes dart about for signs of further threats.

Seeing his comrade fall lights a fire in Grym's violet eyes. He charges into the room to stand in Troyst's place, whirling his blade in a dizzying series of parries.

Sorry -- the description of the trap and my cursory research on banyans made me think the climb was checkless.

Looking toward Master Zey, the half-elf angles his head downward slightly, as if in deference. "Do we have any intelligence on what forces the Consortium have to garrison the temple? How long have they been able to entrench themselves?

"As to our previous experience with Vudrani, you should know that mission ended . . . chaotically."

Grym seems unconcerned at the mention of harsh elements. He mumbles under his breath, "Finally, a chance to use that formula I have been honing."

Would it be possible to hold off on starting until tomorrow night? My local lodge is running a scenario I'm unlikely to get Grym into again (I played the second two thirds of Destiny of the Sands with a now-dead character).

I've already got a character plowing through the Emerald Spire, and I've played the first two levels of Thornkeep. I know -- I have a problem.

Feast of Ravenmoor sounds cool, so I'm good with more scenarios to get everyone in tier. If Echoes is open for the whole gang, I can get behind that as a next step.

Now I just need to level Grym up . . .

Unless I missed something on the product list, there are no modules written for second-level characters, and I only saw two for level 3 (Feast of Ravenmoor and Masks of the Living God).

When the party returns to the Grand Lodge, Grym finds a parcel labeled 'Ruga Vastenzi' awaiting him. He withdraws a coin purse from it, which jangles almost as much as the flasks in the half-elf's pack. He chortles as he stashes the pouch.

Glad to see the clan is doing well this season. Desna smile on you, Papa Ruga.

Grym puts the sap back onto his belt. "I concur that leaving him insensate is the proper choice. If you ask me to prognosticate, though, Cyflymder would prefer being left here with a damaged leg than facing Boomroppel's judgment."

The half-elf jangles as he adjusts the straps on his pack. Looking back toward the party's route of approach, he asks, "Shall we?"

The half-elf nods at Nym's statement. "Indeed -- a quickling may readily be able to thwart anything short of manacles. However, there may be a solution to prevent his escape . . ."

Grym draws a sap from his belt and looks pointedly at Cyflymder's knee.
