Retzack, the Black wrote: "I may need to stop at the Angel for a quick bite. Or we could always try to scare something up on the way." Adir shakes his head and half-smiles at the puns. "Yes, the city will mask the trail soon enough."

At first, Adir shrugs, an odd sight in his current bear form. Then he mimes pouncing on it, as if trying to break it. And, for his final thought on the matter, he nudges the woman that he brought closer to Burke.

Seeing the crowd not quite dispersing at Burke's urging, Adir walks up with his unconscious prize, laying her at Burke's feet. Turning to the crowd, Adir lets out a series of roars to help persuade them to listen.

Adir winces slightly, not actually intending to injure the woman. He eases his weight slightly to not aggravate the injury, but waits on the others, keeping her pinned. How about Icebreaker? That pounce they do to break the ice shelf?

Adir looks at Retzack, puzzled. "No, it's Burke, and there's no well, just a hotel room. Who is Timmy?" ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Indeed, we should. I have misgivings about leaving him alone, despite his ability to handle himself." ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Brill, you say?" Adir swoops down next to those coming out of the embassy, shifting just before he lands. Standing up from a crouch, he greets the others and quickly informs them of what he and Burke have done since they left. "...and he's waiting for us there."

Adir rubs the well-worn wooden amulet sewn into his wristband as he steps close to Burke, so that they are in close proximity, but essentially looking over each other's shoulders. He looks around surreptitiously and quietly says, "If I had to guess, they boarded carriages here, separately, and at different times. Do you also have the feeling we are being watched?" ------------------------------------------------------------------- Adir has encountered a man named Brill, who is as unsavory as his appearance implies. Nice job, Tethys, seriously. It always helps to have a list like that. I forgot about the consular's office part. I like the egg being a decoy reason theory. Necromancy thought: Any chance that she's not actually dead? I wouldn't think so, but....

It can be a nice change of pace, but it is largely dependent on the PCs asking the right questions and then putting the information together correctly. PbP exacerbates the challenge because the information is doled out over a long period of real time. But it has been fun so far just being our guys.

My thoughts(please correct any false statements): The mystery here seemed to be the death of Nilasa, the Eladrin woman. But, I think it's actually about the egg. The guards and staff were dosed with fey pepper to dull senses and/or provide a distraction, (possibly by Nilasa?). LeBrix is lying about stuff, and is fearful. There are 2 eggs, the fake and the real. The fake is on the entry table, the real was displayed upstairs. The real egg's whereabouts are unknown. Theory: LeBrix is part of the theft of the egg. Nilasa was possibly an accomplice who was betrayed, or was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was killed in the embassy and then thrown/teleported out the window(unsure on method) with the real egg. A third party, maybe the guard that was 'sent home', took the egg off Nilasa's body.

Adir is relieved to be outside, though his expression is still very hangdog about the incident. "After what just happened you want me to try again? That was not a proud moment for me. I know that we've talked about this some, but I really lost control there." Adir rolls on the ground, tossing the meat in the air with his front paws. As people approach, he rolls over onto his side, growling. He leaps up and lets out a loud howl. The moment that he finishes, he takes off running through the embassy, doing circles throughout its halls. His claws audibly slip on the floor as he tries to gain traction to turn corners. Rugs are disturbed, sometimes flung to the walls by his momentum.

Adir rubs his bearded chin thoughtfully. "Well done, Burke. If someone drugged the guards without their knowing, and intended to carry out a nefarious plan...if we assembled the people present in the embassy, I might smell traces of it on that person, or persons. Consular?" He raises an eyebrow at her, questioningly.

Adir glances at Burke for only a moment. "I see," he says in acknowledgement to both the consular and Burke. "In our investigation into the death of the young woman, we have uncovered some inconsistencies and oddities. One of which is that your fourth-floor office appears to have been broken into. We are hoping to enter it and further our investigation. Also, it would be to the investigation's advantage if we can remove and interrogate your security chief, LeBrix. We have reason to believe he is involved in a deception regarding the death, as well as the theft."
