Hi guys! Posting it on all my pbps.

Our offshore team at work is very affected by the pandemic at the moment and with the fiscal year approaching to an end, our reduced capacity is terribly affecting my time. For the next several weeks it will likely impact me in such way that I simply won't be able to keep up with the forums, things normalizing only as we start approaching mid June.

For the games where I play, GMs please feel free to bot the characters. If you don't desire to bot me for so long, I completely understand, apologize for the late notice and wish you all the best of fun. If you hold me around, though, I should be back after this storm.

For the games where I host, my sincerest apologies to the players - I won't let you hanging so if you stick around until my return we will give it continuation as normal. Otherwise, please message me and once I'm back I'll recruit replacements.

To everybody, I'm sorry for the late notice and I hope we will continue playing together once I'm back!

Cheers,

Archlich

It makes sense! I was thinking on combining it with the Scout rogue ability to make an opponent flat-footed on a charge. Maybe for the future, but I like the full brawler route too

Abbo holds a bit before moving - particularly, since he's hurt, he waits for his companions to see if any new healing is coming.

Once his companions acted, then, the hurt brawler moves ahead. As moves, he dances, trying to feint against the enemy.

Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Feint

He wants to pass directly by her, and position himself after the demon. He will tumble as he doesn't know if he feinting worked.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Tumble

Finally, as he stops, he will try to attack her with his shovel.

Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 1 = 21 Prayer; his light shovel counts as a +2 weapon
Damage: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1) + 9 + 1 = 18

Late but not least, in the unlikelihood that he actually succeeds to hit her despite his weak swing, he will try to disarm her.

Disarm: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 21 Prayer; improved disarm

Eeew for all my rolls. I don't think I succeeded in anything I tried at all :) Lol

Abbo charges the succubus, not knowing any better... Still in his Shikigami Style.

Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 41 Prayer; his light shovel counts as a +2 weapon
Damage: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3) + 9 + 1 = 20

Confirm?: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 38 Prayer
Extra: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5) + 9 + 1 = 24

If he hits, we will try to disarm her.

Disarm: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 2 + 1 = 21 Prayer; improved disarm

Not sure if possible:

The snake feint ability lets me bluff as a move, or combine it with my movement if I have improved feint, which is the case. I don't know if it applies when charging, but if it's the case...

Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 If the feint works, his attacks will deal sneak damage

Extra: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 EDIT: ... In which case, if the crit confirm, I believe I add extra from it as well.

You said you'll put another map up - so I take that I can't 5-foot-step and full attack her? Because she isn't exactly "there" where I'm seeing now? :)

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Could I try the escape artist as a standard, then (if free) move out more than 5 feet?

Escape Artist: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 = 13 Prayer

This check likely fails, but it's worth asking anyway :) Assuming the DC is the same for Escape Artist or STR check (my STR is +5, that's why I rolled the Escape Artist one; if the STR check would be easier, then that's what I'd pick)

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Abbo moves ahead as far as he can go.

5 feet is a double or single move? Anything else I can do to try to get free? Or can I double move 10 feet?

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Abbo tries to move towards the man, not knowing better what was going on. As he moved, trying to avoid the many vines around, he uses his swings to hopefully feint.

Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 Snake feint

As he gets to the man, assuming his shikigami style, he tries to tap his face with the back of his small shovel, using it as a light improvised weapon.

Attack: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 18 - 4 = 20 Nonlethal, against FF if the feint succeeded
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 6) + 9 = 23
Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 If the feint succeeded

If Abbo hits with his tool, he will try to immediately disarm the man.

Disarm: 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 15 - 4 = 31 Improvised maneuver, as a free action (CMB-4) after hitting with an improvised weapon

Oh, fudge... - says the brawler, connecting the dots in his mind. He didn't know anything about such demons other than the folk tales, but the entirety of the "situation" seemed to solidify the theory.

Okay... - says Abbo, getting closer to his teammates to whisper - What in the gods' names is going on? Is this some sort of... Cathouse? A brothel?

He looks around, not seeing much beyond the vines.

What "thing" are you referring to, Aster? - he completes, having joined the team after they had such encounter.

Abbo looks briefly at the others, then back at the trapdoor - and proceeds to descend behind the man.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Abbo isn't able to read much more on the situation.

As he returns back to the den, Abbo breathes deeply and lies down against a wall. He was happy to be back swinging masonry tools, for a moment thinking it's too much dreaming to think life could be like that. Yet, that's what they're fighting for - to get to the point where people can actually be free to work and head back to their loved ones by night, without suffering under the rules of the Thrune.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

If it sounds agreeable to everybody, each of the five of us could contribute 5 gold every week to keep her business healthy. - says Abbo, not wanting to interfere with the other conversation about dragons and aboleths.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

I had been talking to Laria... You know, trying to get a sense of how we can help more our people. - replies Abbo, unskilled on the social manners - She's having difficulties keeping the place open... Not only due to the sanctions, but the extra stress we put on top of it. Her expenses seem considerable... She estimates to be bleeding 24 gold each week.

He stops for a moment.

I wonder if we could set part of our gains to help her keep the business afloat, or maybe come with other creative solutions to generate revenue.

Once the others are already done with their own interactions, Abbo will try to reunite the entire party into a room to talk about Laria and the need for some sort of "allowance" to keep the coffee shop alive.

Abbo silently greets Bazzle and Dweezle with a smile, but then holds. He waits until the immediate leadership is available to pull them together to talk about Laria and the coffeehouse.

GM: I don't think she ever answered my last question on the amounts? Unless I'm a little lost! :D Hehe

Hey guys, still here! Sorry, got a little lost for a moment with the action (and now, assuming Bazzle is dealing with the Newt situation, right?)

With Laria:

It sounds fair. How much, however, would you need in extra coins per week? What's the current impact? - asks the brawler - I will bring it up to the team for some ideas, but it would be helpful to have an idea of the amounts we're truly talking about.

With the team

It's good to know it's here, but I'd say at this point we should likely keep on our pace to Old Kintargo. - says Abbo, thinking out loud and double checking.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

@GM: Please don't forget on the conversation Abbo was having earlier with Laria. :)

The one you love... What is it even supposed to mean? Who is this person? - asks Abbo, frowning with his face. What kind of authority was this?, he thought.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

With Laria:

Yes... I guess you're right. - says Abbo, scratching his chin. He had to find a blade; it had already been almost a week since he shaved, and he liked a somewhat clean face - Yet, I feel our biggest opportunity is to not necessarily focus on the grand scheme of things, but focus on the issues of the little guy.

He got closer to talk to her. While he wasn't whispering he was using a lower voice volume.

I am not proud of my background, but I imagine many of us here are on the same boat, and I lost someone important to me. A good friend and mentor, I should say, someone who gave me opportunities when things were... Bleak. Regardless, and that might be my point, things just worked for me because I took one day at a time.

The brawler paused momentarily.

So, for our ideals to work, maybe we should take one person at a time. One issue at a time, and try to make the world a better place piece by piece. Like you, for example... What could we make better to you? Anything we could do?

With the team . . .

Abbo looks at Bazzle and Aster.

I... Look good? Am I supposed to look like a carpenter, maybe? - he says, replacing the mallet with another version from his Traveler's Any-Tool Set - Not that I don't feel I would be ready to fight with the other one, but this one might give me an edge.

He smiles at the thought - he was a mason; common folk. Disguising as another type of common folk wouldn't really take a lot. In fact, despite his armor beneath the clothes, he felt pretty much like everyday before he joined the rebellion.

You know, my face is so bland... That likely already blends! But that's good work, my friends. Wish I could hide some of my scars. I should let my mustache grow!

Disguise: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 To help, I guess?

With Laria:

Well... I don't actually know how to use swords. Or other... Proper weapons. Between us, it feels like it nets me better results by getting them by surprise with some improvisation and a lot of luck!

He laughs and tries to pull a mug to drink. Brawlers were about punching, at the end of the day, so she knew it all very well.

Between us, I don't even know how I ended up here. You know, the others seem a lot more... Prepared. I'm just a mason slapping people with whatever tools I find around. I wonder who else would feel like that.

While Aster gathers information...:

As the group is waiting for Aster to gather information, Abbo keeps exploring the place. He finally gets to see Laria - the halfling brawler/rogue - and immediately identifies some affinities.

Great to meet you! - says Abbo, as he's able to finally single her out to talk in midst of the other parallel conversations - I don't believe we ever made full acquaintance. I'm Abbo. You should be Laria, right?

Abbo isn't flirty - his tone is more of that trying to identify likeminded individuals. In the hinyasi's mind, this would be a good opportunity to get to know other members of the rebellion, and eventually even identify if there's any help they'd be needing.

Now...

I am probably the worst here to disguise myself, but I guess at least I don't carry any true weapons! - says Abbo, playfully agreeing with the plan of disguising and heading to Old Kintargo.

He definitely sounds... Useful. Assuming he'd be interested to join, if we can persuade him... - says Abbo, thinking out loud as he waits on an answer from Bazzle for Aster's question.

Yes, this might be the right approach - it's curious how we're hilariously unsuited for exactly these enemies :) But I feel we can remediate that.

As for smaller goodies, would that maybe fit into that task #3 on the list?

Help the Rebellion

Ask members of the Rebellion what you can do to help them
Benefit: Improved item stocks, increased loyalty to the cause, rumours, good ol’ NPC interaction. It really helps to know what each NPC values in the rebellion, otherwise tensions could run high and infighting could occur. I may very well use intrigue rules for this.
Recommended NPCs: Laria, Rexus, Nisha. Other useful NPCs could include Forvian Crowe, Derrattata, and Vendalfek.

Maybe even finding that other alchemist mentioned in gameplay?

Abbo smiles towards Aster and Rex. He was glad for the momentary peace, and happy to see his newfound group seems to be alive and well. He greeted Rexus with a shy nod. He was hoping his playfulness would lighten the mood, but it ended up sparking more friction than he bargained for - so he decided to keep his silence.

Instead, he actually allowed himself to lean against a wall and sit on the floor. The humble man didn't have possessions other than what he was carrying. He was a mason of late, true, but had been an outlaw for a lot longer, and felt these people wouldn't necessarily approve of his past. Yet they were all outlaws of a sort, and likely the next time the authorities get him would be his last.

Now, though... It was time to breath, deeply, and meditate. Some lives were lost, but they were in a righteous path. Pharasma shall receive them, he thought, fearful of the Lady of Graves. It feels like lately, I had been sending a lot more souls to her than I anticipated...

For long moments he just stayed in his corner, but eventually decided to stand up and explore the Nexus for a bit. Maybe even take a bath, like the others, despite the fact it wasn't a Sunday.

In a more serious note, though... Do we have any contact that could help us track or keep tabs on that fleeing tengu? I just don't want us to have our guard down.

It could be acid, cold, electricity, even negative energy for what we know. It could be weapons that pierce, slash or blunt. It could be anything and everything, and unless we find someone that knows a little more, we simply need to try all possibilities... This is, assuming these trolls can regenerate at all like the others, and that their regeneration can even be stopped. - says Abbo, agreeing to head back to HQ.

Unless we find someone with this knowledge, the GM should probably run some % dice everytime we try something to stop the regeneration of the trolls just to prevent player knowledge getting into play.

The Skritt Squad!

Abbo agrees with his companions - at the end of the day, it sounded fair to let their new allies judge what to do with the captured Ratcatchers.

Reuniting with the group, after some resting, the brawler speaks.

Considering one of the guys that fled is the brother of one of the captured ones, I could only guess he might want to be back... Or maybe even come to an agreement to have his brother back. - he paused - If the Tengu is smart he will probably flee and disappear... Enough opportunities in other places. We should probably keep an eye or contacts in the alleys, however, just in case he doesn't... So we can keep tabs at him. Regardless, what should be our next step?

Let's keep'em alive, if we can. Likely we could get some intel, I don't know. Maybe, unlikely... Even some allies, I guess. - says the brawler as he approaches the others - Since the authorities wouldn't deal with them, I wonder if we can create a prison of our own somewhere. A pity the annoying tengu fled.

He smiles as he touches Aster's shoulder.

Thanks for having my back! - and then, to all his companions - Is anyone hurt? I'm sorry our plan didn't work so perfectly. Happy you escaped with all your skin, Bazzle.

I don’t want to do a full round action because, as far as I understood, it would mean I can’t keep my desperate push at the highest speed possible to reach the tengu. With a single standard, I did above: I tried to trip him again, after I feinted during my move. Unless I can’t use snake feint, in which case I just attempted the trip.

@GM: I think I already posted my stuff, right? I already did even my fort roll to push. Since I am in "Close Range" then I supposed I could also take a standard action, like my trip attempt?

I'm a bit confused. If the guy was prone, then why would we be chasing him? As soon as he tried to move after standing up (standing up also provokes, but I'd rather keep my AoO if he tries to get away from me after that), he'd provoke again, and we'd be able to trip him again as an AoO, and still have our full action after that. Withdrawing is a full action that can't be taken while prone... In top of it: he got prone as a result from being tripped when he tried to move out of my reach, if I'm not mistaken, and I'd have a full action before he could act again (which means I could full attack pummel the hell out of a prone rogue...). Unless I'm missing something, in which case my apologies. Getting prone near an enemy is terrible for someone trying to flee, especially if it happened as a result of an AoO ;)

CMB (Trip): 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 2 = 18

If he's tripped, the rest of the party can also easily catch up and keep guard of him as we truly pursue the ones we want to - in this case, I wanted to focus on the Tengu, which has one round of advantage I believe.

Abbo desperately pushes himself to chase as fast as he can.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

If I had a full attack before, it would go like...:

Attacks against a prone opponent

Attack: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 16 - 2 = 25
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 2) + 9 = 26

Disarm: 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 15 - 4 = 25 For free after an attack, with a -4

Attack: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 16 - 2 = 17 Against flat-footed AC if he was disarmed due to Catch Off-Guard, unless he has improved unarmed strike or some natural attack
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 4) + 9 = 21
Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 Only if applicable

Attack: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 2 = 23 Against flat-footed AC if he was disarmed due to Catch Off-Guard, unless he has improved unarmed strike or some natural attack
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 1) + 9 = 23
Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 Only if applicable

Last but not least...:

I'm not sure how it would apply on the chase rules, but via the Snake Feint ability from my archetype and the fact I have Improved Feint, my character can combine a move action with a feint - so should I consider that he's feinting as he's chasing?

Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

GM, please feel free to change the order of my rolls, and arrange them in the order you feel more appropriate! I just wanted to include all rolls to make sure I didn't forget anything.

It's a fair question! Abbo will try to use maneuvers to control enemies, especially ones trying to flee. If an enemy has no angles to flee, is standing up or provoking through a spell or something like that, more than likely he will just smash them. If the enemy, by other hand, is provoking an AoO due to movement and in a position he would flee, Abbo would try to trip him or execute another maneuver to prevent it from happening. If Abbo succeeds to trip the tiefling, he will let him behind for the others to deal with and pursue the Tengu that kept throwing those nasty bombs at him and Aster, even after someone from his team was already surrendering!

Am I still entangled? Can I get rid of it? I do want to chase - particularly, the Tengu throwing bombs, but I'll be happy to get the rogue if both are running the same way. Also, thanks for rolling the damage thing, but I'd rather use my AoOs (in this kind of situation) to trip, even if my trip will provoke an AoO from them (since I don't have improved trip) just to keep the guy from fleeing (I'm a sucker for combat maneuvers! Lol :D):

Trip: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 13 - 2 = 25

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Still entangled and moving slowly, Abbo tries to get to the other tiefling to the best of his speed. As he moves, he swings as if peglegging, trying to find an opening on the enemy's defenses.

Bluff (Feint): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 Via Snake Feint

I only have half my speed now, so Abbo will double move to get to the tiefling. He will do a little curve before getting to him as to stop by his side (as to prevent a direct line withdrawing without provoking). Snake Feint lets he bluff as he move (since he has Improved Feint) so he will use it so his next attack, if he succeeds, would go against a flat-footed enemy (feinting is the only way of doing it against someone with uncanny dodge).

Aster... See what you can do about our bleeding friend here, please. If he's still alive, maybe we can keep him stable and in a good sleep.

The brawler speaks to his companion, but then suddenly turns to the imp.

As for you, devil... You know the drill!

Attack: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 2 = 30
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 62
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 4) + 9 = 24

Attack: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 16 - 2 = 19
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 33
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 2) + 9 = 26

Attack: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 2 = 26
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 45
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 4) + 9 = 19

He doesn't really hold anything, as he flurries his light shovel against the creature to send it back to its plane.

If the tiefling and the imp are out of the fight, even if temporarily, Abbo will five-foot-step ahead. If the imp drops on the first hit, instead of flurrying Abbo will move towards the enemies he previously saw (quarter speed I assume due to the fog and entangled). Thanks!

@Vandomir: I believe this is an adjust to the AC, so the GM probably did that when checking my rolls. My first attack missed due to concealment, and the third one was just a 13 so any AC 18 would have beaten it

You will forgive me if I have to guarantee it as we deal with your other companions... As they don't seem to agree with conceding the fight. - says Abbo, still puffing the smoke from the bomb.

The brawler then proceeds to attack the prone enemy until the point it stops moving. While he's not attacking nonlethally, he will stop punching once and if the enemy goes unconscious.

Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 14

Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 53
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5) + 9 = 28

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 38
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 2) + 9 = 21

As he finishes, the mason speaks to Aster.

Thanks, my friend. - and then loudly through the smoke - Put all your weapons down and surrender, now! I will keep fighting if anyone is still threatening me or any of my companions. I was the first to argue for an agreement or mercy instead of violence against you, but I can guarantee you I will be the last to stop bleeding you dry!

If the enemy goes unconscious, Abbo will five-foot-step ahead over him.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Abbo is angry, and doesn't really much care about the enemy by him. He stands up, letting the enemy take his attack of opportunity. Entangled, the brawler limits himself to five-foot-step forward and attack with his improvised weapon against the enchanter, trying to limit the enemy's movement on the way he knows how.

CMB (Trip): 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 2 = 22

This will provoke an AoO as Abbo doesn't have improved trip, if the enemy is carrying a weapon or has improved unarmed strike.

Male NG Human (Chelaxian) Brawler (Hinyasi, Snakebite Striker) 7 | HP 24/75 | AC 21 TO 16 FF 17 | F +9 R +10 W +6 | CMD 28 (Disarm 30) | Init +3 | Perc +12 DV

Thanks, Aster. Let's finish it. - said the brawler.

Abbo moved towards the next enemy (the Tengu I presume). As he did it, his movements were erratic, as if provoking the foe to open his defenses.

Bluff (Feint): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 via Snake Feint

As he got to the enemy, he attacked him with his improvised shovel.

Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33 vs. Flat-footed if the feint worked
Damage: 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 4) + 9 = 23
Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 Only if the feint worked

If he's able to hit and the enemy has a weapon or something else that can be disarmed in hands (like a potion, or maybe a spell components pouch) he will try to disarm him.

CMB (Disarm): 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 15 - 4 = 25 via Improvised Maneuver
