Agreed. It is nice to see a happy ending! And who is to say what happened behind those three asterisks? I think that Fife's words indicate that much COULD be hidden behind them. Events that are left to your ample imagination.
True. Trouble is I didn't think they had time. My guess was "kiss now, promise of 'more later,'" but then having to flee the town before the 'more later."
But a lot can happen behind those three asterisks.

Just in case it did not come through clearly in my posts throughout the story, I want make it clear that I enjoyed this story very much. I would enjoy more from this author with these, or other characters.
It was very refreshing to get a short story that was comedic, but not too comedic. I'm not sure I could handle a Novel with these characters, but I would certainly read a Novella.
