So who remembers how much admission tickets and Dinner tickets were last year???
Don't remember exactly, admission was $25 - $35. The banquet was $15 or $20... ish.

But it always seems like I'm challenged with the timing of it. Last year, it was Father's Day. This year, our 10th year wedding anniversary. Yowza.
Just take her to Greece for two weeks after PaizoCon. That's what we're currently planning on doing for our 10th :). Unless, ironically, we decide to wait until our actual anniversary date and do a driving trip up to North Carolina...

Last year it was during our 7th anniversary. I convinced my wife to do a vacation in Seattle, and then finish it off by attending Paizo Con. It worked out well, even the day before the Con when I spent the day in the hotel room drawing maps while she went to a spa. :-)

With finances as tight as they are, I seriously doubt we'll be pulling a trip to Greece. Especially since my wife already booked us on a cruise/resort vacation with all our kids and some extended family in March. Thankfully, we've set aside funds for that well in advance. Plus, most of it's free since we're going to listen to their timeshare spiel. It's the price of admission. :-)

That would be my neck of the woods. Let me know if you drive through Charlotte.

You guys have fun storming the castle. The Paizocon move to a week earlier has put in on the same weekend as my own con here in Oz. Since I can't be in two places at once (I wish!), I look forward to Paizocon 2012.
Kyle (and Doug, and Thea, and several other folk) - not sure if I can make Origins either. It's a crapload of $$ for just one con.

Earlier today Dave Gross talked me into attending. Very persuasive, our Dave.
I was going to pitch the idea to Bill, my Very Significant Other, as one part of a week of myriad possibilities, including the Seattle Film Festival, hiking in the rain forest, brew pubs, a Mariner's game, and sundry other inducements. It was a short conversation; I had him at film festival. :)
So. At present it is approximately 83% certain that I will be at PaizoCon.

Hurrah! I'll dig up an old SIFF program and send it along so Bill can get a feeling for the kinds of films they'll be announcing in a couple of months. When you know what days you'll be there, I'll figure out a Mariner's game to propose.

Mariners are away all three days of the con. They start a home stretch the Monday after the con ends.

Didn't you read her post? I'm very persuasive.

Good to know, but I'll be there early for SIFF, and staying late is an option.

Yay! It'll be great if you can make it; I'd love to finally meet you after having been a fan for, um, wow. Has it really been almost 20 years? Good lord.
I hope I can be there, Liane, and I'm looking forward to meeting you, as well. Though I haven't yet read THE KING's ROAD, I enjoyed your Pathfinder web fiction immensely and look forward to seeing more.
And yes, it has been almost 20 years. ELFSHADOW, my first book, was published in September 1991.

I own that book and several others of yours. Keep up the good work, Elaine.

I can empathize, with our house still on the market back in Washington. Greece is only an option because my husband's travel expenses and all of our food would be paid for, thanks to a conference he's attending. Still might not be an option, hence plan B (driving trip).
That would be my neck of the woods. Let me know if you drive through Charlotte.
If we don't make it up there this year, we certainly will next fall. Rather keen on the idea of renting a cabin in the mountains up there and catching the turning of the leaves.

Okay, checked things out and got my tickets. Cocktails it is.
Of course I brew mead so I'll probably sneak a bottle of that along with me....
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
No, no, no, no.....you will NOT sneak a bottle of mead along....you will BRING MANY BOTTLES of mead, to share with us!
I know for a fact that James Jacobs, and Liz Courts (and myself) love a good drink o' mead.
;-)

Does booking a room in the con block automatically put you in a room with four other attendees?
Booking a room in the 'block' gives you the group rate ($99 for the normal rooms per night) and the hotel *tries* to put everyone's rooms together in the same area. If you're getting a room with two doubles, and want to split the room with another con-goer, I'd post the offer in a seperate thread on the forum. :)

I'm thrilled to see everyone who is planning to attend this year! It's going to be the best PaizoCon ever!
For Elaine and others thinking about staying extra time for the film festival, I will say that it is 110% worth it. I've been going for years (based largely on Dave Gross's original suggestion years ago), and I've seen many, many, many incredible movies.
I've seen a lot of flicks well before they hit the theaters or Netflix, but most importantly I've seen tons of movies that were absolutely great, but which never got an American distribution deal and thus were otherwise impossible to see.
Plan some extra time for the film festival, and this will be a very memorable trip!*
* Barring any unfortunate memory-draining moments in the hotel bar, that is.

What Erik said.
If you care more about the films themselves, and especially if you love international film, this is the best show in North America. The big name festivals have the celebrities and the business deals, but SIFF is for movie fans. It has more different films to see than any other festival in NA. Even if you can show up only a day or two early, it's worth buying a ticket or two.
The midnight shows are great for us geeks, and they happen after (most) PaizoCon events are over.
Seattle once had (and may still have) the highest per-capita book-buying and film-going population in the US, and it shows. The cinemas alone are worth a visit. The Egyptian is my favorite, but if you get a chance to see something in actual Cinerama at the Cinerama, don't pass it up.

I may have to bring my own home-brewed beer this time. Bwahahahaha
Just remember, any homebrewed beer that is brought must be checked out by me. I am an official beer taste tester. I must make sure all beer is good. :)
Anyone who wants to try some good stuff and is able to do it, the Beer City Festival is in Asheville, NC most likely the weekend before Paizocon. It's great stuff.

Got our tickets. For the banquet, too, although whoever has the misfortune of being saddled with the Spousal Unit and myself on their trivia team is destined to lose. So, uh, apologies in advance for that, unknown future table-mates.
I am pretty excited about this thing. I have to confess, though, that I am not a big drinker of mead or beer (or wine, for that matter), so will regretfully have to pass on any offers of either.
Froofy cocktails, that's my scene. ;)
