"They won't even appreciate my singing voice!" Iniquity insincerely laments with a wink as he stabs his spear at one of the other (orange/dash) slimes. He steps away from the two ganging up on him and raises his shield.

Fixed Salka's HP. Math is hard.
This time Iniquity lands a critical hit against the strange bone filled flesh creature!
Of course it still resists some of the piercing

Iniquity, Salka and Hampton are up!

Fort vs bleed: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 So close!

And then she will raise her shield manually this time (AC 26), trying to offset the sticky slime latched onto her.
I will React to Shield Block for 8 if I'm hit by something that won't like instantly shatter my shield (HP 64 and BT 32]

Okay if I go up to orange lines I'll be within 15 of champion again so I'll move up to orange lines and make the second attack at that one instead, then reactive shield if I am hit instead of having the shield up already and blocking.
Hampton Candlewood |
Hampton moves past Domwurd with a polite smile and settles in back behind Salka, hunting Orange as his prey and launches a pair of arrows at it. Hunt Prey, then hunted shot.

With a wave of his hand and a quick barking of arcane words, Domwurd conjures an area of biting cold around the ooze.

Pirate GM |
Domwurd is puzzled by the creature. It looks like an ooze, it gloops like an ooze but it responds to violence and tries to dodge. Oozes should be mindless... so uhhh Liquified Corpse? Seems like a good enough name. With some more research maybe Domwurd could get published.

Other things to do here:
What's up with this room?
The canopic jars contain the remains of those who died battling forces of Set, the Ancient Osirian god of darkness, deserts, murder, and storms, also known as the Lord of the Dark Desert. you further recognize the iconography shows Set’s army trying to stop the other figures from taking the falcon back from Set.
Searching?
You find a scholarly journal. You get the feeling its former owner is in bits and pieces all over the room, especially in those monsters you were fighting.
Reading the Journal?
There's no mention of the Pathfinder Society or the Sothis Lodge in the journal.
Hampton Candlewood |
Hampton makes sure all seem well, then searches the room.
Look at this! A journal. Looks fancy and official and such.
The diplomat pages through. Curious, he says, relaying what's inside.
A group of 4 Ardis Scholars accepted help to find the pyramid known as the Tomb Between Worlds, and that they constructed devices — with help from a mysterious benefactor to stabilize the pyramid and bring it back to the deserts of Osirion. The final entry indicates the umbral vises to stabilize the pyramid on the Material Plane were ready, and the journey would begin soon.
There's no mention of the Pathfinder Society or the Sothis Lodge in the journal.
Salka Silver-Fist |
Salka takes a look around the rest of the room as the steam hisses out of her armor engine and she pours a flask of coolant into a small hole at the top of it for its overheat cooldown function to kick in.

"Apparently these canopic jars contain remains of forces who died against Set the evil Osirion god of darkness, deserts, storms and murder. The pictures on them are the army trying to stop some others from taking the falcon back from Set."

There is also a door to the north that my map doesn't show particularly well.
Added a door to make it obvious.
Set isn't necessarily a bad guy...from a certain point of view.

Osirion Lore (h): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Iniquity meditates on the art depicted on the canopic jars while he gathers the divine power with which he has been blessed. He comments to the Kelishite man who accompanies him with a grin and a slap on his back, "When we talked about redeeming your lifestyle, I did not intend for you to forget everything you learned from said lifestyle."
After Hampton finishes his search and reveals his finding, he says, "As someone once told me, all paths in Osirion lead to the same place." He chuckles. "Shall we carefully evaluate and proceed through this door?"
Domwurd |
Domwurd looks over all that the group shares with him, taking copious notes for when he needs to write a chronicle. "Sounds good, Iniquity. Please lead us onward."
Pirate GM |
No problem spending 10 minutes to refocus and get cleaned up etc. Those Liquified Corpses are pretty disgusting
To the north another heavy but not otherwise stuck/locked stone door is opened with a strong push. Beyond is a long chamber with a 3ft high stone basin running down the middle, filled with white salt. A statue of a jackal-headed man appears to be emerging from the western wall. His arms are spread as if to embrace the basin.
Another Umbral Vise crackles with electricity atop the salt filled basin.
Nothing else hostile or attempting to kill you here etc. There is also another stone door across the room to the north.
Salka Silver-Fist |
Salka walks up to the mechanism. "Another piece of Ustalavian Stasian tech? Curious. I wonder if they're all connected together."
Hampton Candlewood |
Hampton would refocus as well. Gods, why do I keep forgetting that?
Hampton, knowing this is Salka's specialty, heads over to the door on the far side of the room to guard against any unexpected intrusion.
Pirate GM |
Hampton goes up to guard the northern door while Salka goes to investigate the Umbral Vise in the salt filled tub.
As Salka walks up to examine it pure white salt begins to spray out of the tub all over the room.

After being sprayed with the pure white salt, the hold party is feeling parched/picked, as though they had gone on a 3 day ramen binge with Drandle Drenge.
The Vise looks much like the previous one. It's on and making things unpleasant. It looks incredibly easy to disrupt and basically impossible to to move. And of course as before it could be used to transport to the Shadow Plane.

Domwurd decides that magic is the best way to solve this problem. "Everyone, please stand back. I'm going to try something."
He then casts Dispel Magic, hoping to prevent further nastiness.

Salka rubs her arms, the stoney texture of them now crackling causes them to shake a granite-like dust on the floor as she does so. "Ugh. As an Oread I have trouble keeping my skin moisturized on a good day. Does anyone have some extra algae gel or something I can plaster on, I'm fresh out."
Which is sort of code for if we have a moment it might be worth a quick patch up if anyone has the skill for it cause that took a lot out of us...
Domwurd |
"I think my dander is worse than usual now too, so I would really like to know what you use, Salka. Algae gel you say?"
I am at 24/55hp, so I would also benefit from healing. Perhaps the Champion can drop some Lay on Hands + Refocus to get us back up?

"Good show!" Iniquity congratulates Domwurd. "None of us look particularly hale at the moment. Hampton, come!" He beckons the half-elf. "Please rest in the artful grace of Shelyn a moment."

Salka takes a long stretch as Inquity starts his prayer cycle. "Well if we're going to take this long I may as well send the poor catfolk soul back to base. I'll be back to get myself patched up in a moment."
Salka Silver-Fist |
"Very well then. Let's continue onward through that doorway. I'm itching to discover more of what this place's tech has to offer me for inspiration for my future blueprints. Oh, well I guess we could also turn off the weird skin dryer machine though..."
I'm down to head north but also happy to disable this trapped machine so it doesn't shoot evil mummy salt magic at us again
