No, you're right, GM. The fight was reset with the conversation and Alvar's AC is lower so I started with them due to their proximity to the fight.


Ah, but I had forgotten about Alvar's warding. Hero point to the wizard and Enoch doesn't take the 8 damage, as Tatters would have missed then.

Alvar is entirely out of spells save their cantrips, of which two are entirely ineffective against monstrous humanoids, one is detect magic, and the last is a touch spell. The joys of being a low level caster.

There's a silver dagger on the loot sheet if you wanted to mix it up in melee. I am positive we have silversheen and Enoch took some but I don't see it on his character sheet. I will try to dig up the post later today.

Also before I make my post later today I'm going to use the hero point on the will save vs fear before the roll for +8 and hope that's enough to save.

I'm torn between 3-ish spells, so I'd like to ask our GM whether anti-summoning shield will be at all useful in the near future. It's very thematic, but if we won't be facing people summoning others from the Dreamlands or what-have-you, then I probably shouldn't get it yet.

Other options include euphoric cloud and/or blindness/deafness.

Extra Pages: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 So a total of 10 pages added. I think I need to buy a new spellbook as soon as possible, since I've got 8 pages left.

From your spell selection it looks liks you're going for save or die spells so I'd go for Int to increase spell DC eventually. Also you don't mix it up in melee so I doubt the extra AC will matter much, touch attacks will not really be a problem and less so as we go on since touch AC doesn't typically scale.

@Alvar, as written ... no, summoning isn't prevalent in the next book. I agree it is very thematic but seeing as how your grimoire pages are limited I will not let you waste them. I'd pick one of the other two spells you had eyes on.

I went with arcane lock instead of euphoric cloud, but did end up going with blindness/deafness. I'd like to grab more abjuration spells, but they're somewhat niche at this level, still.

I'll stick with the +1 Int, as well. Ethyl makes some good points.

Oh, hey, I can actually do some enchantment on my amulet now (and could've this past level, but it hasn't really been conducive to downtime). It's a shame that most of the necklace wondrous items aren't great for Alvar yet.

Lol yes sorry. I'm adding spells that aren't normally on my list via alchemical allocation. Mage armor gives me two extra AC without restricting my dex.

Lesser resto seemed most important to start working on the madnesses I've accumulated and will continue to accrue.

@Nyarai, Wren's people aren't here yet, no. I understood the reasonable paranoid hesitation from worries of doppels and ghouls as he would wait for your signal to arrive. However, if that wasn't the case I'll just have him and his be a bit late and post in a few.

Alvar would like to try to write some of the spells from the Chain of Night in their grimoire - I'm actually not sure whether that's like a normal spellbook into a spellbook, but if they can, I'd like to try.
