Cleric Help!

Advice

So I want to make a LN cleric of Kelemvor from Forgotten Realms. We already have a good Cleric that heals. I want to do a bunch damage w/ spells. I'm taking the death domain, and channel negative energy. Help please! We're level 10. HELP!!

Quick question, if you want to be a "bluster-type" character, why play a cleric? There are better classes for such a role, like wizards or sorcerers.

Also Kelemvor is more of an "anti-undead" and "respect life and and death" death god. Are you sure you want to go with death and channel negative energy? It just seems out of character.

I've never played a game where the DM would allow me to cast inflict spells. Back in 3.5 it was just assumed that if you're a cleric, you're either good enough to cure instead or you have no business with the rest of the party, and even in Pathfinder my DM never wanted me doing it.

My biggest concern is that you already have a good-aligned healing Cleric, so you're going to have a party that contains two clerics of different deities. Are you prepared for the potential drama?

If so, I'd say you definitely want Reach Spell, which will allow you to cast inflict spells at range, and Dazing, Sickening, and/or Thundering Spell to give them some extra gusto. You should be able to apply those feats to Inflict spells on the fly if you cast them spontaneously.

As for spells, Spiritual Ally from the APG looks pretty sweet, as does Instant Armor if you're worried about getting caught without your own or can't afford the good stuff.

Pharasma seems like you could just plug her in place of Kelemvor and the character could roll right along.

Being with a good cleric in a party of a different faith might be difficult. That aside, you definitely should take the selective channeling feat to exclude your buddies. Also consider going for holy vindicator. He gets to do a lot of things with channeling that others cannot. Take extra channeling multiple times, reach spell, and charisma boosting items and a phylactery of negative channeling. You will be quite nasty that way :-)

Sorry Kel isn't like Pharmy. There is the whole Anti-cyric aspect. Kelembor also has the dethroned Bhaal as a house guest and the scribe of the undead hanging around too.

I would suggest a kobold cleric of Kel. Channel both if you can, thats more like Kel.

If you want a FR diety that channels negative energy, choose Cyric. He is crazy nutz.

Alternately, don't take a god or goddess and just be a cleric. If you have a good background, it will help with the DM.
