[PF2 / Farol] 3-15: Cavern of the Sundered Song

Game Master Farol

Slides | Macro | RPGChronicles

This is a recruitment thread for 3-15: Cavern of the Sundered Song. This is a 9-12 non-repeatable scenario, and there are no pregens on this level so you need to have lvl 9 PC to play this.

This recruitment is not first-come-first-served, I will keep the recruitment open for roughly 2-4 days. The game will start end-next week (closer to 25th/26th April).

Organizational stuff:
- Posting expectancy, 1 post per workday and ideally 1 per weekend (weekend being Saturday/Sunday)

To apply:
- Please make a post using your PC's profile, I will have a look at it. And please respond to the following questions?
- Tell me something fun/interesting about the PC that you want to bring?

Other:
- I value role-play, I will be adding bonuses to the skill checks if they are well described, nicely narrated, creative etc. I don't mind people struggling with it, I do mind people not trying.
- If you are an active PF2 GM and you run a game for me, don't be shy and step forwards. I have relatively good avatar memory, but you know ;)

Grand Archive

Presumably you want the post here. And I will be spending a replay point on this.

Professor Patrick Barnard is an astronomer/wizard who is sorely lacking in the social skills, in fact he has been undergoing psychological counselling under Fola Barun about this and his nightmares which he believes were caused by the Night Hag Aslynn. Once she as defeated he had a vision of Desna and this has encouraged him to try socialising a bit more, mostly in Cottonseed, and trying to make friends, especially of the female persuasion after having been very paranoid about them. He is also farm boy raised.

Patrick is level 9 - needs levelling up - and I may have GMed for you.

Verdant Wheel

I’m a maybe for a replay, but a good GM @ a good scenario, worth the 40 AcP.

Put me on standby to make a full table?

Grand Archive

I have this character, but is in the tail end of another game. I don't know if we're going to finish before you wanted to start this one. I'll keep an eye though.

Radiant Oath

Quinoline holds up an ornate crystalline vase filled to the brim with a swirling, yellow liquid.

"It's my latest creation, it's bottled lightning, but it's great. Er, well, it's greater, at least."

Quinoline is a Level 11 bomber alchemist.

Horizon Hunters

I played this back in the fall of 2022 but would love a second go. Happy to spend some points on repeating, but understand if you want all fresh eyes.

Fortiva did not join the pathfinder society with diplomatic, policy-setting missions in mind. She's far too mercenary for that - give her a target, a goal, and she's much happier.
Despite a few missions that required a velvet touch, including her most recent, she has been successful in disrupting or destroying a number of high profile targets - and may have helped Patrick a bit during their outing against Aslynn (but probably not).
All that is to say - rescue mission? Diving into the unknown? Perfection!

.

Regarding the profile - I love Charon's google character sheet so I don't put a lot into my profile here. Not a problem to fill in all of the missing details if that's your preference, though.

Vigilant Seal

I have played this before so would be using a replay.

Garamond is a grey haired, powerfully built Ulfen man who has been with the society for over twenty years. Early in his career he was sent to the Mindspin Mountains to learn what he could about the local tribes. He dutifully sent reports back via local traders, month after month, and heard nothing back. He once spent 6 months living as a bear to keep an eye on one group. For twenty years he dutifully sent his reports until he finally received a reply calling him back to Absalom. It turned out that all of his reports had been misfiled and he should have been recalled after a year! He was not happy, especially as the area contained almost nothing of historical interest. He has since returned to active duty but is extremely grumpy. As such he is labelled as a bit of a trouble maker. His motto is "The Shadow Lodge was right!"

Horizon Hunters

Zabu, as they used to say, is crude, rude and totally lewd. He likes to fight, is arrogant and always looking for a good time.

He's not going to win any popularity contests, but there aren't many fights he's going to lose.

I have not played this scenario and have not GMd any PF2, but I may have run something for you in PF1.

Grand Archive

Patrick has been levelled up and his profile has been updated along with the second draft of the Remastered version.

Horizon Hunters

Astrid is a shield maiden and famous adventurer whose accomplishments are almost as great as the tales told about her. If you don't believe it she'll use her newfound bardic abilities to tell you the tales herself. She'll also point out that her skills far exceed those of her sister. After her place in history is secure she plans to die fighting monsters at Valenhall as a linnorm king with blood on her blade and a battlecry on her lips.

Astrid is a level 11 fighter with a big heart and ego to match who doesn't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Ok ... So, so far we have here,

- Those who never played it:
- Astrid lvl 11 fighter
- Zabu lvl 9 Barbarian
- Quinoline lvl 11 Alchemist Bomber
- Leo lvl 11 Wizard

- Those who have played it before:
- Patrick lvl 9 Wizard
- Garamond lvl 10 Druid
- Fortiva lvl 10 Rogue
- Rainzax PC lvl unknown

I am unsure if I will be able to take two tables, so I will think about it a bit more. Both teams are a bit light on healing, but at those levels you probably have options ;)

Hey! It's ‘Eκάτη.

I have a level 10 barbarian and never played it before. I'll be happy to finally play at your table Farol if it works out this time .)

Patrick has met Fortiva and Astrid twice before - he still feels a bit intimidated :)

And Fortiva was there when he said something wrong to Fuschia who told him off - which is when he realised he really did have a psychological problem.

Envoy's Alliance

Thanks for the offer, GM Farol. Dr. Lazarus (busy waiting for a remastered Investigator) is checking in with his good friend, Jeeves, the Bard.

Jeeves, 10th level gnome Bard is a friendly face, happy to serve his party in any way he can. He's very outgoing and will talk to anyone, or anything: fans, townspeople, animals, plants, rocks. If they talk back, it's fine with him.

He loves to sing and provide inspirational anthems as well as cast spells of healing.

Will have his character sheet properly leveled to 10 by the end of the weekend. Currently, just on hardcopy.

GM,
Withdrawing my interest.

Turns out my only character in tier has played this already, so no replay possible for me at this time.

You kids have fun!

Welcome all folks, I think I know or at least saw each and every one of you at some of the tables.

I am leaning to try and GM two table here, and spread them as follows:

Table 1 (low tier):
- Patrick lvl 9 Wizard
- Zabu lvl 9 Barbarian
- Fortiva lvl 10 Rogue
- Kagan lvl 10 Barbarian
- Jeeves lvl 10 Bard

That table would start this week, and I would set it up within next few days. It has front line, CHA folk, int folk + skill monkey (rogue), which should be a well rounded team. There are two barbarians but at this level they should differ enough.

Table 2 (low tier so far but at the edge):
- Astrid lvl 11 fighter
- Garamond lvl 10 Druid
- Quinoline lvl 11 Alchemist Bomber
- Leo lvl 11 Wizard

This table would kick off in a week or two to not have two tables at the same stages. Sine Astrid and Leo are finishing the scenario it would accomodate that. This team also have front, int, skill monkey (alchemist, wizard) but it is lacking a bit of CHA. I will see if we can find 5th player to push the team to high tier ;) for my amusement and to see how much this scenario differs for low and high tier.
