I have a 4th level champion and a 4th level sorcerer that can come as well as a 2nd level fighter and kinestisits that can come.

![]() |

I actually don't have any 2e pfs characters, but I can make one. Its been a while since I have done any pfs games so I don't remember if I can make past level 1 so that might be what I'm at lol that being said what level is this campaign and what kind of source books are available?

If I'm not mistaken you can use higher level pregens, but if it's your own you'll have to start from level 1.
It's a level 1-4 campaign and all paizo 2e sources are legal for use to some extent, with uncommon and rare abilities/classes having some selection criteria, archives of nethys is a great resource for PFS references. This link is handy
I think I got most of it, but other players here have much more experience than me at this point!

Name: Frozen Frost
Character name: Sunshine of Happiness
Class/Levels: Animal Order Druid / Beastmaster, Level 4
PFS ID: 2403787 - 2024

It looks like it's gonna be higher level, so if it ends up majority level 3 or 4 I might drop out, but in the event lower levels work:

If I'm not mistaken you can use higher level pregens, but if it's your own you'll have to start from level 1.
Correct, as long as the pregen is within the adventure's level range as noted in Before the Adventure of Player Basics in Paizo Organized Play Guide.
Before the game starts, you will need to choose a character to play. This can be one of your existing characters, or a pregenerated character (also called a "pregen"), but it must fall within the allowed levels for the adventure. If you choose a pregenerated character, you must also choose an existing character of a lower level, a first level character, or a brand new character to assign credit to.

GM B, what tier are we going to be playing? If it's 3-4, I'll drop out or change characters--I have no one available in tier, and playing a 2nd level front-line combatant in high tier seems like a really bad idea. On the other hand, playing low tier with two 4th level strong melee characters doesn't seem like it'd leave Kimmo much to do.
Also, just out of curiosity, how many of you have played this scenario before and are using replays?

![]() |

I haven't played nor GMed this scenario before.

![]() |

I did start writing out all the spells and such but my progress got reset so I will try again tomorrow or the next day sorry I'm struggling with the whole pbp character sheet lol

Doing the quick math, we'll be playing at tier 3-4 (without the 6 player adjustment unless combat seems way too easy), I've gone through the stats and I think Kimmo won't be disadvantaged in this scenario at this tier, but I also understand if you think it's best not to let a level 2 join a tier 3-4 adventure.
If I'm not mistaken, no one is using a replay for this.

![]() |

I do just want to say, thanks for joining me, I'm really excited to start playing again and in advance appreciate your patience with me picking up the rules / GMing once more.
Once you have your characters down, please post your character intros and we will get started immediately :)

![]() |

If we are doing A tier 3 or 4 you might need to delete my intro lol if you have a pregen I could use I would still be willing to play though

![]() |

Our APL is 2.4, so we could go up or down, if more people are comfortable at tier 1-2 with 6 player adjustment, we could do that instead. I'm easy both ways. But it would be a bit too easy for our level 4 players.

![]() |

Personally I think tier 3-4 is good for the group. Gros, your level 1 character won't suffer in this tier, so I think it's fine if you want to stick to him.
On a side note, if a level 1 character plays at tier 3-4, do they still receive the higher tier rewards?

![]() |

No, they receive the rewards appropriate for their tier. At least, I did when I played my Rog/2 in a T3-4 game. That experience, by the way, is why I'm reluctant to play Kimmo out of tier--the amounts of damage that were being thrown around were considerable. My rogue contributed very little to the fighting and mostly either plinked with a shortbow or did Stride-Strike-Stride combinations to stab enemies and retreat, but with some good rolls was able to hold his own in the skill challenges.
Thunderroot can contribute even in high tier, because bards still make everyone better--Kidron and Sunshine would hold the line while the rest of us buff them/debuff enemies/do ranged attacks.
Incidentally, calculating subtier is now done via the challenge point system. Here's a LINK that covers how to do it.
I think what I'd rather do is play a ranged character; I have a couple of L1 toons that can be tailored for the occasion and then rebuilt before they hit L2.

Also, for a level 1-4 scenario, level 1 PCs gain a temporary boost when playing in the higher level range called a "Level Bump," to represent the higher-level PCs’ mentorship and support: Determine the Level Range > Mentorship and PC Level Bumps.

![]() |

I have dotted in with this character but I can bring a level 1 or 2 PC instead so that we can play low tier. I have not posted an intro with this character anyway. I just want to what others would be bringing to the table.

![]() |

The mentorship thing seems like it would be enough to make Gros survive I think, so if that's an option I'd definitely like to take it if we are doing the higher level campaign

This is what I was thinking about but could not remember what it was called.

![]() |

I'll probably be dropping too, even with the level bump idk if I'd be able to keep up, and to be honest, I'm heading into finals season soon anyway, so I'm not sure I can keep up with the game anyway.
Have a good game, y'all!!

![]() |

So what is the latest line-up of PCs as of this moment? Assuming Sunshine remains.

![]() |

Barbarian 2 CP:3
Druid 4 CP:6
Paladin 4 CP:6
Sorcerer 1 CP:2
CP total 17, high range.
The below bonus should apply to our level 1 character for this adventure.
Increase every DC the PC has by 1.
Increase the attack modifiers, attack damage, spell damage, saving throw modifiers, skill modifiers, Perception modifiers, and AC of the PC by 1. Increase the Hit Point totals of the PC by 10 or by 10%, whichever is higher.

![]() |

Alright then. Sunshine has Worldy Mentor boon for the level 1 sorcerer.
Normal: A Level Bump increases a PC’s Perception modifier by 1.
Special: A PC can only benefit from two mentor boons.

![]() |

If the GM permits, I would like to share two GM glyphs for extra hero points with other PCs. I have chosen to give them to Gros and Kimmo so that they can begin with initial two hero points each.

![]() |

Yes, it works.

![]() |

I'd like to inform everyone that I will be unavailable from April 27th to 30th (UTC +8) for an out-of-town summer vacation. Please bot me when needed. Botting instructions are posted on this character's profile.

![]() |

1. Returning to town to investigate is an option
2. There are also clues in some of the conversations that have happened for further investigation into the woods.

![]() |

I am back and slowly getting back to the games. Many apologies for the extension of my absence, May 1 is a holiday and I was invited to spend the holiday with relatives that I didn't have a chance to update many of my games here in the Forums.

![]() |

Came down with a bad tooth infection, should be able to get an update in after work, in about 10 hours time.
