Newt Lopo

"I'm not so sure, Lara. I think I can stay still quite a long time..."
Newt seems to be kind of serious about this. Well, sometimes, when he doesn't move, he really looks like an armed and armored statue... a very, very ugly statue.
Inside:
"Hello. Do you have dwarven beer? If yes, I'll have a pint. If not... well, then I'll have a pint of the strongest beer you have." After a brief pause he seems to remember something he should say. "Oh! Please."
Newt has Cha 5. *shrugs* Would be better if somebody else did the talking... ;-)
Thurgar Ironhead
|
"I'll take a pint of whatever you give him," Thurgar says, taking a seat and looking expectantly at the taller and friendlier members of the group to take the lead.
Thurgar's got an 8 so he's got a fairly good chance of botching things, too.

"Do you know how to get to Cannibal' Grove?"
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 o_O
I really hope we won't use up all the good rolls just at the start of this quest...

Several of you notice junk stashed in odd places up in the rafters, as if a small creature has been stealing things. You don't see any sign of the creature, though.
The hostess replies, “I’m not keen ta put my own soul in peril, steerin’ yas to such unhallowed spots.” (diplomacy or intimidate to convince her)

Diplomacy/Intimidate? Newt (with Cha 5 and no ranks)? Yeah, right. But I'll try anyway. Here goes nothing:
Intimidate: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (20) - 3 = 17 :-O :-D
Newt glares at her. "I'd prefer you do not laugh at us - I do not appreciate that at all. We can handle ourselves quite fine, so I wouldn't worry much about your soul..."
Didn't expect the dicebot being nice to me... but I'll take it! ^_^

"Thanks."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Thurgar Ironhead

Thurgar quickly downs the remaining contents of his mug before clapping it down on the bar as a sign of appreciation.
"Thanks for your hospitality and help," he says with a wave as he hustles out after his fellow adventurers.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Newt Lopo

"Huh. Should we tell the hostess inside?"
Newt Lopo
|
"Okay, then." Newt shrugs. "Shall we start walking?"

You find your way to the spot known as Canibal's Grove. Thick tendrils of mist rise from the ground, and unsettling noises permeate the clearing. Crimson thistles have overtaken the clearing, punctuated by a ring of mossy standing stones. In the center, a neglected stone slab bears ancient stains and gouges.
Perception checks, please, everyone.
Newt Lopo
|
When arriving at the clearing Newt scans the area. "Looks like we're here. Hmmm... anybody see something noteworthy?"
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Thurgar Ironhead
|
Thurgar takes one look at the tree fallen across the stream then looks at the more agile members of the party.
"Anyone want to try that while the rest of us keep a lookout? I'm just going to get wet if I attempt it," he says.
Newt Lopo
|
Newt follows Thurgar's look, shrugs and answers: "Not really. But if I get wet anyway I could also swim across..."

Token added yesterday. Was driving back from out of state convention for VA duty games and was too tired to post, sorry
Crowe suddenly start to miss the Grippli witch. Not being able to Detect Magic surely doesn't help them finding a magical lantern.
He moves back to make room for a runnning start, then rushes forward and leaps for the small river island......
Acrobatic: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Thurgar will get out his shield and hammer and keep a lookout.
Newt draws his weapon and shield, too.
