I hope he recovers soon. And thank you GM Hmm for backing up the game!
As for the next mission, GM Hmm asked us to list our Top 3 choices he in the Discussion so that the game can proceed smoothly. I think the next two fan favorites are Navigating the Outgrowth and Forest Campsite.

Based on your top 3:
Carnelian - F/F
Haka - Campsite
Hope - Campsite
Tandang - top 3 all done
Graeyson - no preference
Truck - no choices so I assume no preference.
So Campsite it is...

Might have a slight delay with posting tomorrow. Gonna spend the day in the hospital with my dad.

Hey Gang,
Tiger asked me to take the table again for a bit. It looks like Dennis will be moving us to Part II at any time now, so I might end narrating the rest of this combat.
EDIT:
Dennis assured me that we can continue fighting even after Part II rolls through, so never mind. Let's do this!
Housekeeping Detail:
Since it looks like I may be a recurrent backup GM for this table, I would love it if every player on this table could add a botting spoiler to their profile, complete with dice expressions for common spells or attacks they use in combat.
Thanks!
Hmm
GM Hmm |
Another question: what continents are everyone posting from? I want a general sense of time zones. Are you in Europe? Asia? Australia / New Zealand? The Americas?
GM Hmm |
Dennis has assured me that we can continue the fight even after rolling into Part II, so let's do this!

"What is a botting spoiler? Click on my profile to see one in action!"
Under Clover's 'Bot me' spoiler, you will see dice expressions for saves, skills, weapon attacks and favorite spells.
At the bare minimum, I would like to see dice expressions for your most commonly used weapon or spell attacks.

Hello, GM Hmm. Thank you for substituting and send Tiger my warmest wishes.
I post from East Coast United States (GMT -4). I'm using the vigilante archetype, so check the "Alter Ego" link to see my character.
My most common action in combat is to cast Produce Flame or Dazzling Flash. I'll make a botting spoiler in both accounts soon.
GM Hmm |
Great! Please add your sword and knife attack dice expressions to your botting spoiler!
GM Hmm |
Excellent! Thank you!

I am at UTC+8. I will create botting instructions when I get home later.

Did Scout's Warning trigger?
So both Scout's Warning and the Scouting Exploration Activity provide a +1 Circumstance bonus to everyone's rolls, meaning that they do not stack.
That said, you having that ability means that no one in the party should be scouting as their Exploration Activity. Everyone can do something else, and still have the party receive the benefit of that +1 Circumstance bonus.

GM Hmm is the best backup ever. I can post somewhat but running combat with a tablet is near impossible…
GM Hmm |
Your question was answered in my last post in the discussion thread.
GM Tiger |
It does not look like it was applied. For future combats do I even bother with it? Should I retrain the feat>
Similar bonuses don't stack. The Scout Exploration Activity gives a +1 circumstance. Scout's Warning also gives a +1 circumstance bonus. They don't combine for a +2.
GM Hmm |
How are those botting spoilers coming? I'll be rejoining you on Sunday!

I am a little concerned with the lack of being able to act. I check when my turn is up and it is towards the end of the tirn. I am really okay with that tbat is the roll. I check at nigjt wjen I get home from work still not my turn. Check in tjr middle of tbe day to fond my actions being taken already because of the time difference. At thos point I shpuld just leave botting instructions and leave it at that get my rewards and be dpne with it.
GM Hmm |
It can be really hard striking the correct balance for speed in Specials. I know that I tend to bot people a lot if we're trying to make a certain number of successes and I need the pace to pick up.
If you are in doubt, you can post your actions ahead of time under a spoiler for when your turn comes up.

The special is on a timetable. As it is, Part 2 Encounters are already available while we're still on the first part. I did announce that I will be more aggressive with botting because of this.

My preference for the next four missions:
First: Exploration Event 1: Have You Seen Something?
Second: Exploration Event 3: Securing Sanctuary
Third: Exploration Event 2: Unnerving Omens
Fourth: Exploration Event 4: On Patrol
Graeyson |
I think part of the problem is that GM, who is a wonderful GM, has in the posts who may act, with an *. I take that to mean that is when I can post my action/ That is stifled by running an aggressive game when people do not even have the time to catch up on what has happened because of time differences.
So in the future, do what you want with the character, just don't get him killed. Those are my botting instructions.
If I get to play this then I guess it will be fun?
GM Hmm |
Pre-Post under a spoiler and you won't miss your turn.
GM Hmm |
I usually post between 2 or 3 contingencies when posting ahead. As far as I can tell, all the players on this table are in the Americas for time zone.

Howdy folks! I was asked to poke my head in and offer a little guidance as regards botting and communication at the table.
When it comes to multi-table specials we ask at this time that table GMs give players a full 24 hours (or close to it) to post their actions before botting them, even if an individual GM might give more (or less) time at a regular table. It's always best to communicate this up front at the start of a game so that your players will know what is expected from them in terms of posting speed and what to expect from you, the GM, if they're unable to post.
When it comes to playing in multi-table specials, we ask that players do their best to communicate any issues they might have with being able to post in a timely manner. Obviously emergencies and other things can come up that leave PbP as the last thing on someone's mind but it's helpful to check in when you can, even if it's to say that something's going on and that you'll need to be botted for <X amount of time>. This is where having botting spoilers can be quite handy - and they can be as basic or elaborate as you like - just so long as your GM has at least some idea of what to do with your character in your absence.
Finally, it's also important to keep in mind that everyone is here to have a good time. Many of the issues and hiccups I've seen at tables here on Paizo have often just been a result of miscommunication and misunderstanding rather than maliciousness or laziness. Hopefully the guidelines I've posted above will help clear things up and get things on track so that everyone can enjoy the rest of the special.
As always, please feel free to send me (or Redelia or numbat if you prefer) a PM if you have any questions or additional concerns and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
Cheers,
Lady Ladile, VA - PbP
