@Hancock, the post on the main thread was named and addressed to Luz. But to address your point, there's advice and there's unsolicited advice. The latter being irritating especially to those who know what they're doing, and are acting in a calculated, purposeful manner... for whatever reason they may have.
Advice is great for newbies, and absolutely appreciated by those who ask for it. Unsolicited advice however, is always unwanted. Veterans know to leave people alone and do not act like they know it all. People who want advice ask.
And yes, you are absolutely right: I will cast when I want to cast. It is my character, not Luz's.
That is the way.

Nobody gave you advice. My response was to the GM asking us if we were ready to proceed. Nobody has told you how to spend your spells or tried to control your character in any way. Get over yourself. Hancock and I were letting you know that if you wanted to save your spells, we can heal out of combat.

There are two people in the party who can do a lot of noncombat healing. I think we are good as long as Tarkis doesn't waste his spells on healing when he doesn't have to.[
Luz Lumino

That's right. The GM specifically talked about you being at 4/8 healing spells. It's a response to the GM asking if we are going to rest or move on. Nobody is talking to you.
| GM Frost |
Okay, I appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts, and I think that there's some confusion here. The best thing we can do is to acknowledge that we all have different perspectives and intentions when offering advice. Can we move forward with this approach?

@Mao you can heal yourself every 10 minutes right?
Hancock has Assurance in Medicine and Continual Recovery, so he can auto heal Mao every 10 minutes.
Hancock the Angry

Yea, Hancock is an out of combst heal bot. Auto success in expert treat wounds every 10 minutes. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. In my defense, he is my only character to so thoroughly abuse those rules and I blame it on another player that clued me into it. But I am curious too. Can Mao heal himself every 10 minutes too?
Luz Lumino

I've seen that set up before. In fact, it was on another Investigator. I am doing the same thing, I just forgot to take Assurance last skill feat. The other feat is the Ward Medic which lets you do two people at once.

@Luz, thanks for letting me know. Which is better, a Blessed One dedication or Assurance feat in Medicine?
@Hancock, feel free to pitch in on that question.
The goal is to provide maximum health support within the first two levels.
Regarding Mao, if he has Ocean's Balm then apparently he can heal everyone once every 10 minutes... and can heal up to 3 people in a round if his aura is up.

Toss up in my mind. In combat healing is always better than OOC healing, but the fact that Hancock can auto succeed at expert treat wounds means that OOC healing is pretty dang fast. Not normally a big deal since you usually have time OOC, but for those cases when things are timed it is nice.
Still... I think I would opt for in combat healing over OOC. So Battle Medicine along with Assurance and expert healing at +10 would be my preference. Hancock is not there yet, but he will get there. Even that has it's limitations since it can only be done on a subject once per day, but that is a big burst of healing for one action.

@Tarkis. I think it depends on how you want t play. If you like combat healing...then Blessed One. If you want to free up the use of healing spells to do more buffing/debuffing of enemies, then Assurance....provided you are willing to pick up Continual Recovery and Ward Medic. But the nice thing about lay on hands is that you can use it out of combat as well. The trade off is that you'l do a LOT more OOC healing with Treat Wounds, increasing your Medicine, and Assurance.
I think the Remaster will allow you to recover all Focus points if you spend the rest time, so Focus Spells become a better resource in the future.

@Luz, thank you. I'll look into your suggestions. I do prefer in-combat healing. One of the biggest issues I have with medicine's treat wounds is the fact that it can only be done once per day per character (barring Godless Healing). I'm finding that the kineticist wood/water+field medic combination may offer more healing. I'm trying it out on another game.

Once per day? I thought it was once per hour. Then again, I have misread/misunderstood rules before.
Hancock the Angry
|
I think he meant Battle Medicine. That is the one that is once per day, not Treat Wounds which, as you pointed out, is once per hour (or even faster with some feats).
| GM Frost |
We are close to the end of the scenario. Kindly check your details on the Sign-Up Sheet linked above.

So given we have a whole night to prepare, is there a way for Luz to learn that someone is gong to be leading an army to attack the town? It makes a huge difference for Luz to set that person as the subject of his investigation and then be able to use Devise as a Free Action.
Luz doesn't need to know the guy's name, just that there will be someone leading an army against the town.
| GM Frost |
Yes, you know it will be Seldrik who will be leading them.

Hancock rages and attacks Sedrick! 13 B damage
Does that mean the electrical/arcane/evocation damage was resisted?
| GM Frost |
I did not see that part, apologies. Will add the damage from that. It will be updated on the next tracker update.
Hancock the Angry
|
No apology needed. It is nearly impossible to catch everything when so much is going on.

Here are the chronicles. I reported the game to HQ, will take a while to reflect on the website. Thank you for playing, everyone!

Too late for down time income?
If not then

Thank you, GM Frost, for running this! I may do some reworking on this character, but I enjoyed playing at your table. Once I remembered to use them, the templates you provided were quite handy.
Rolling Earn Income here so I can put it on my Chronicle:
