Rogarch
|
Rogarch notices her magical Shield spell glow a rainbow of colors as the magic missiles impact it. A moment latter the giant snake creature falls to Ting's sword. She then turns to Goran.
"I will throw down a rope to haul you up when you get to the other side. You will have to make you best way down. May Kurgess aid in your climb!"
The warrior then attempts to quickly climb down to the base of the column.
18 Climb on a take 10 for an accelerated climb down (DC is now 15).
(Double Move)
I am assuming that my character can take 10 as we are off initiative now.
| GM Jhaeman |
The Pathfinders move quickly to get into position for the next stage of their assault on the City of Golden Death!
Everyone can go ahead and take their next round's worth of action. Goran, you can take a couple.
@Rogarch: Yes, you can Take 10 since we're off initiative and no problem re: Rawk.

Sheathing his exotic bastard sword, ting, using the hand-holds, climbed the wall. Clambering over the edge near Candledark he nods his head to the Wayang.
Double move, sheathing the sword, climbing the wall, taking 10(18) on climb.
| RawkNRole |
Rawk-N-Role glides up the column like a fish swimming up a stream. He then pops out of the rock face and moves towards the wall making room for his mistress.

Rogarch moves up to the opposing columns and begins her climb.

Rogarch is 15 feet above the gold coins.
Xanac Candledark
|
Candledark's expression (inasmuch as it can be read at all) seems to soften from whatever it was before to bemusement, for reasons known only to himself for now.
He looks across the way, however, and his expression sharpens again; he pulls out his prized rope, and tosses a short length of it to Rawk'N'Role while keeping the other end of it in a tight grip close to the bottom of the doorframe....
Rogarch

@GM Jhaeman - Just to move things along Goran has a negative modifier on his climb roll due to his magical chain mail. Assuming medium encumbrance his net Climb check penalty (with his strength bonus) is -3.
| GM Jhaeman |
Goran tries to climb down the carved handholdings, but--weighed down by his heavy armor--he slips and falls into the bed of coins! Fortunately, from the far platform, a rope dangles and the group is able to haul the cleric up to the other side.
Botting Goran as attempting to Climb down. Result: Check failed by 5 or more, resulting in 7 damage (unless you have something to slow a fall).
Okay, let's assume everyone is now in one place, and we'll say it took 4 rounds to accomplish this. Anything else you'd like to do before moving on?
Goran Climb Check: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (8) - 3 = 5

Rogarch

Rogarch is able to finish climbing the column. She spends three rounds to readjust some of her equipment and to renew her Shield spell right before they are ready to tackle the door.
@GM Jhaeman - Could you please activate my character's Heightened Awareness spell on the next combat. Her initiative modifier should be +11.

Rogarch smiles at Goran.
"Well you are here in one piece more or less. No mean feat after facing down both a dragon and a naga."
"Alright Ting. It looks like were are as ready as we are ever going to get."
"Open the door if you please."
| GM Jhaeman |
When everyone is ready, Ting opens the door, ready for battle! The large room on the other side of the door has high, arched ceilings and a floor made of simple white tiles.
Four statues frame the room, two of them recessed in wide alcoves along the south wall and two more standing against the north wall. The statues in the southern alcoves are carved from granite polished as smooth as glass, and both statues depict the same man, tall and regal with a full head of windblown hair but completely nude. In each statue , the man has one hand crossed behind its back while the other hand points toward its twin. In contrast, the two statues against the north wall are sculpted from lightly veined marble and depict two different women, nude to the waist and draped with robes from the waist down. The one to the east scowls and points accusingly at a plain wooden door in the north wall. The one to the west smiles and regards the door with a curious expression.
A pair of cultists stand on either side of the southern door, rapiers at the ready to stab the first Pathfinder to enter!
We will proceed to Initiative.

Rawk-N-Role warns Rogarch about the cultist out of their line of sight.
"Watch out everyone there is another cultist in the western alcove."
The warrior cannot help but notice the four statues. She suspects that they will animate in short order. Rogarch is more careful (or far less brave) than Ting and stands her ground not wishing to be caught between the two cultists. She flicks her wrist and a wand pops out of her spring loaded wrist sheath and after speaking a word of power her spiked gauntlet elongates around the uninjured cultist (White) in an attempt to trip him.

As Ting darts into the room, the cultists on either side of the door bring stab out, but the tengu dodges their blows! His counter-attack cuts deep into one of would-be ambushers!
Goran's magical attack can't connect in the frantic fray of battle, but Rogarch drags one of the cultists to the ground! The wily foe rolls out of the way of Rawk's kick, however.
Ting's movement into the room triggers the cultists' readied actions. Result: Both miss.
Ting fails the Acrobatics check to avoid AoOs. Result: Both miss.
Ting's attack hits (but does not confirm), badly wounding Black.

"Heretics and unbelievers! He moves into position on the far side of Ting and strikes at the tengu's chest while the remaining cultist goes in for a backstab!
Meanwhile, Goran jumps into the fight!
Blue made the save and took half damage from the spontaneous immolation and does not catch on fire.
Goran, I fixed the map and moved your token so you could attack the nearest cultist (Black). He gets cover for being around a hard corner, and it's just enough to turn a hit into a miss.
Blue does a move action to move (staying carefully out of reach of Ting until the last step) and then readies an action to attack when Black moves in to provide a flank. (this technically changes his result in the Initiative order) Result: Miss.
