I think the show is only getting better right now. Shari walks forward and with an incredibly dexterous movement, which is almost invisible, pulls out a pistol and shoots...

If you have a problem
You can find me right outside
I'll ram into your skull
I'll make you see the lights
I have to warn, a phat lip
Is bad for eating soup
It's hard to chew with no teeth
So get used to eating goop
The overly aggressive tones of Sonic Tumult play on, while shari fires her laser gun right on the off-beat of a drum fill, creating an avant-garde dissonant effect that takes everyone by surprise, not least the elemental.
The elemental starts moshing, slamming into checker
Slam, Checker: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 141d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Is a Slam bludgeoning damage? Although with that damage Checker's DR probably won't matter.
Checker's armor crumpled.
"I need to get some better materials. Checker, hit back!"
Chip himself fired two shots at the elemental while the damaged drone swung its doshko.
Checker attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 for piercing damage: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Chip full attacks. laser attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14 for fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 and laser attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13 for fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
DM Kludde |
Bordle draws a Rock on! when she shoots her magic missiles, while Zint gives a crackling high-five, and not much else.
Shari continues her strange dance, but is on-beat this time, which doesn't surprise the elemental. The shot with the laser gun does, and gives a dramatic zap during the chorus.
Checker moshes with the elemental, and Chip manages to land a shot, nearly bringing the elemental down.
Sonic Tumult's song is coming to crescendo...
The moment I get you in my sight
That when you know
You're gonna die, alright!
...and at the last symbal crash, Kareeda! blows the mind of the elemental, who collapses on the stage.
Combat over! Good show!
The crowd goes wild...
Well, that was a killer song if there ever was one... let me know how you want to proceed
Bordle |
Bordle points up to the technomagic device up in the lighting grid. It was that thing .. whatever it was. Sparking like crazy until Kareeda! and I tried to put a stop to it. I guess we set it off
She looks down at her glitter covered paws which is refusing to come off. I'm wondering if that Eladrin isn't the only prankster around here. This is the stuff that Lita Starr usually uses but, that doesn't mean she did it.
Shari Misraria |
Is it possible to turn to the cameras again? To see who brought this device or who "conjured" with it before us?
In general, if the group does not have a better idea, then this is what my character will do. If there are cameras here, of course.

In general, if the group does not have a better idea, then this is what my character will do. If there are cameras here, of course.
You have an eye-witness account of a technician who claims Omo (Lita Starr's uplifted bear bodyguard) was doing something on stage before, and damaging some light while doing so. The position of the device about checks out.
Kaleb "Chip" Leafgleam |
"Starr, someone around her, or someone trying to make us think it's her," says Chip, wincing at the damage to his drone, "Those seem to be the main options. The bodyguard's our main lead.
"I'd like to do some patching here, but if nobody is hurt and we want to move quickly... well, taking hits so people don't have to is Checker's main job. This is what's supposed to happen, even if sometimes I wish it happened.. less."
Bordle |
Bordle nods at him. While you're at it, you might want to install some hydraulics so Checker can pull off some fancy dance moves.
Speaking of dance moves. It was actually rather fun to get up on stage and strut my stuff. Maybe I should make some sort of performing outfit for that sort of thing and my vidgaming competitions. Any suggestions?
DM Kludde |

Give it up once more for the Starfinders! These guys should really think about moving into show business! Radat comments. The jury has nothing but good words for Sonic Tumult, except for Lita Starr. She keeps silent and leaves the jury booth as soon as the next act moves on stage.
The next act are the four completely identical, stoic androids of Astrowerk (See handouts): Gunther, Dieter, Volker and Klaus.
Hello. Dieter greets the crowd.
Ve are here to play a song for you. Gunther says, with Volker adding Yes, we are.
Ve don't care it you like it Klaus says. Ve don't Gunther confirms.
Ve care about nothing Dieter adds.
Ze song is about Apostae Volker says. It is a planet Gunther clarifies.
The group then proceeds to perform, nearly motionless, their great hit 'Apostae is a planet'
Apostae is a planet
It's very very old
Apostae is a planet
It's very very cold
Apostae is a planet
Some distance from the sun
Apostae is a planet
It's not a well-known one
Looks like Lita Starr is now backstage

”Something with sequins”, Morela replies. ”That way, they’ll reflect your lights, and be extra-sparkly”
Kaleb "Chip" Leafgleam |
"Hydraulics upgrade is more of a long-term project."
Shari Misraria |
If we have to grab her, I advise everyone to activate the life support system again if you turned it off. Smoke grenades are one of the best ways to take someone alive. But I would not like you to cough together with our villainess. Shari unbuttons the skirts of her business suit again and lovingly runs her hand over the grenades. Now let's follow her.
DM Kludde |
As Astrowerk plays on
Apostae is a planet
It barely can be seen
Apostae is a planet
It has a greyish sheen
the group moves backstage to find Lita Starr. She is found in the area, with her two uplifted bear bodyguards Omo and Orgo in tow. She looks very annoyed.
Apostae is a planet
But you could not live there
Apostae is a planet
With tension in the air
Do you confront her?
Shari Misraria |
Oh yes. Shari walks with a confident step towards this woman, shaking her head to the beat of the song about her home planet. Coming up, she will lay out all the facts and put maximum pressure on Lita, trying to split her and bring her to honesty.

“Well, well, well,” Lita Starr says, crossing her arms and tapping her foot in irritation, “you think you’ve got me, don’t you? Sure. Maybe I made sure that fangirl freak put a poisoned gift basket in Tsuchi-ko’s dressing room, and maybe when that didn’t work, I set up a plan to fry her. And maybe since neither of those worked, I’m a little peeved. And why shouldn’t I be? Strawberry Machine Cake shouldn’t even be here! I don’t know why anyone wants them when you have me! I’m the star! I’m Lita Starr!” Lita stomps her foot.
“Look, I’m a very important person. Just tell people it was the drow or the dead guy. I bet they’ve done something bad at some point in the past, so you’d be doing a good thing. Besides, if you try to come after me, who do you think people would believe? Like I said, I’m a star.”
Apostae is a planet
There's not much else to say
Apostae is planet
And it begins with Aaaaaaa...
Astrowerk finishes their song, and silence permeates the backstage area as tension fills the air.
Kaleb "Chip" Leafgleam |
"Uh.. I kinda doubted it was you, actually," says Chip, a little thrown by the odd behaviors of these criminals. So eager to confess... he'd better set his helmet comm to start recording. "But if you think the evidence against you is that bad then nobody has to believe us."
DM Kludde |
a little thrown by the odd behaviors of these criminals
Adventure as written :-P

@Bordle: that depends. Did you turn it on?
SMC are just so onnoxious! They should have respect for a real star! So there you have it... Lita Says, Just tell me, whose side are you on?
Bordle |
Unfortunately, not in this reality
She turns it on to record.
Side? There are no sides here. At least I don't think so. Sure there are many different types of music but each can be appreciated for what it is.
Shari Misraria |
You're just jealous of them, aren't you? Strawberry Machine Cake? Shari also imperceptibly turns on the recording.
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 15 + (1) = 23
Kaleb "Chip" Leafgleam |
"Kinda shows that you didn't think you could compete as a rival, I guess."
DM Kludde |
Lita turns red, as if she's about to explode. but it seems she has one more trick up her sleeve...
She takes a deep breath and screams at the top of her lungs.
Moments later, people rush into the area to see what’s happening. “Help me!” Lita sobs. “They tried to hurt Tsuchi-ko and now they’re coming to kill me!”
“Stay back, villains!” Omo and Orgo growl.
“Get away from Lita Starr!” a member of the crowd shouts.
Tense murmuring follows as the rest of the crowd nervously takes in the situation. Several people look ready to physically intervene.
Looks like you all need to convince the crowd. I need each of you to roll an appropriate skill to sway the crowd (Diplomacy, Bluff, Profession skills, Sense Motive to find the most swayable members in the audience or Engineering for more technical explanations. Showing evidence helps. Each rolls for their own, and I would need three successes before three failures.
Kareeda! |
Oh we were after you. Thats why it was Tschui-ko's dressing room that got the poisonned cupcakes and we were busy fighting the creature on stage when you weren't even there. But dont take my word for it Chip?

Computers/Engineering (same bonus): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
"How could we possibly... weren't even attacking her...," Chip mutters to himself as he works.
DM Kludde |
Kareeda plays the evidence over a murmuring crowd, but it's the fake photocards that are the real shocker. Many Lita Starr fans produce photocards that all have the name Lita Starr spelled out as 'C-H-I-P'. What a shock!
Feeling the crowd starting to polarize against her, Lita shouts “they’re pulling out a weapon! Save me!”
Omo and Orgo interpose themselves between the starfinders and Lita, who herself makes a run for the door. The two uplifted bears look like they mean business, and are holding arc emitters.

Oh, I remember a hundred years ago at home, not a single walk through the bars in the ghetto ended without such brawls. I missed this s**t! She walks forward smiling very mischievously. In her hand, like a magician, a grenade suddenly appears. A show without lighting effects is not a show...
Flash Grenade mkI: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d4 ⇒ 4 - vs floor AC5 | DC 15 Ref | Stunt & Strike + Swift Toss (no AoO for ranged attacks and drawing a grenade is not an action) | Those who fall save (Omo & Ogro) blinded for 4 rounds (I can throw a grenade so as not to hit Zint, but to hit both guards)

Bordle doesn't want to kill these guys. No really, she doesn't. They're just doing their job, even though their employer turned out to be a ... complete douchebag.
So she moves behind a shrubbery and shoots Red with her Voltaic Anchor Pistol which does non-lethal damage.

Chip is less concerned. The bodyguards have heard their boss's confessions, and they have evidence they were directly involved in the crimes besides.
Well, he's still concerned. But more about how formidable they seem and how pulling punches may be a very bad idea.
"Now might be a good time to leave the room if you're not armed security!" he calls to the assembled as he urges Checker forward. "I hope it's pretty clear who's endangering you now!"
Checker lumbers forward to aid Zint at close range, while the halfling himself steps back away a bit.
Standard: Master Control so Checker can both move and attack. Checker attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 with Tactical Doshko (piercing): 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

DM Kludde |
Good spot, Kareeda!! @Zint: dicebot really likes it when you use the right die, could you reroll that attack, please?
Bordle reluctantly shoots Ogro, causing the bear to shift its direction. Kareeda! misses Omo. Checker moves into slash at Ogro (Based on position)
The crowd does what they do best, and boo the two uplifted bears, and start throwing merchandise. Most of it is pretty light stuff, a photocard here, a signed mug there, but the Abysshead cheering grenades (really?!) are remarkably heavy and flashy upon impact.
Crowd pelting stuff, high is good: 1d100 ⇒ 47
There doesn't seem to be much of an effect from it right now.
