Jaques glares at Plugg, his hatred for the man deepening, and he gratefully accepts the stake from Zen'ja's outstretched hand. He stumps down the ladder to the bilges behind Ragnhild, and despite his sour mood he finds himself matching the beat of the barbarian's tune with his steps.

What a strange song. Perhaps it has lost something in translation, Zenj'ya thinks to himself, as he follows below decks.

Permission to not have made the quarterstaff if the boarding axe was visible?

Zenj'ya: Of course!

Down in the bilges, it doesn't take long to find the creature - or rather, creatures. There are a bunch of rats down here, each the size of a small dog. And they look hungry....

I'm not sure what Totem effect Ragnhild has active-- I can't tell from your character sheet what your spheres and talents are. I'll just assume it doesn't affect Jacques. :)

Jacques spits as the rats jump out and one catches him on the arm. He squints and channels negative energy throughout the bilges, instinctively protecting his two allies from the flesh-ripping power of the netherworld.

Channel negative energy (harm living): 1d6 ⇒ 2

Then he steps forward into the darker corner of the room, where he hopes the creatures cannot surround him as easily. He waves his hand and intones words in a strange language, and suddenly a mirror image of himself appears beside him, disguising him somewhat in the gloomy chamber.

As a swift action, he performs a Trick (illusion), creating a Defensive Decoy in his square that lasts for 1 round. This uses his Talented Trickster ability and costs a spell point, and says that enemies have a 50% miss chance unless they make a DC 24 Will save.

Unable to total defense due to concentrating, as well as being stymied by the small area of the bilges, Zenj'ya 5ft steps to the north, and spits out a word. Stone smashes into the ground, rocking it. Zenj'ya promises to himself that he would repair any of the damage done to the ship later. All creatures within the brown drawing (sorry Ragnhild) must make a DC 14 reflex save or fall prone.

@Jacques: I think your decoy's actually a DC 14 Will save. XD

Rock Saves: 4d20 + 5 ⇒ (7, 20, 5, 18) + 5 = 55 (looks like 2 fail as well)

Chaos unfolds in the bilges, as the air grows cold, rocks fall from the ceiling, and soul-sapping energy fills the area. Two of the rats fall to Ragnhild's axe, and the rest suffer injuries or are pummeled to the ground by the newly-created environmental hazards. Unfortunately, vermin are not known for their intelligence, so they continue to leap at you.

@Ragnhild: Since your elemental aura deals damage at the beginning of your turn and I use group/block initiative, I'll roll it and make any necessary adjustments to the battlefield. That way you won't need to worry about spending time and resources dealing with enemies that are already dead. In this case, you'll notice two more rats have perished. XD

She steps outside, a bundle of 7-9 Dire rats held at their tails.

I'd like to go visit the quartermaster. Zenj'ya makes sure to thank Sandara first though.

"Mistress Grok, I could make a big show of mysticism, and claim that I was drawn to your side by magical auras, and curses. But I am no charlatan, no conjurer of cheap tricks, reliant on theatrics to sell my craft. If you need a demonstration of the eldritch path that I walk, I will show you, but otherwise let us cut to the chase; how may I be of service?" Zenj'ya is honestly trying to save everyone time, albeit in his own blunt way.

Jacques
Are you visiting at the same time as Zenj'ya, or separately?

Ragnhild
Bonnie twirls a dagger around her fingers before flicking it over her shoulder where sticks into the mast. "I'm partial to knives, myself. Can impale a fly at twenty paces. Axes are all right, I guess, but only if they're small enough to throw."

Zenj'ya
Grok looks you up and down with an appraising expression. "Know anything about removing curses? We got some stuff about a week ago that's full of bad juju. I can't chuck it over the side, because that's bad luck, but I can't in good conscience sell anything that's cursed. Can you cleanse it?"
In case it isn't clear, Grok's referring to your and Jacques's gear. If you 'cleanse' it, she'll sell it.

Female Humam Barbarian(Rage Prophet)1/Bard 1 Gestalt AC15/14/11 HP14/14 Fort:4/Ref:3/will2 Ini:3 CMD15 CMB4

There are basically two reasons we use axes, first, our homeland is overrun by demons, so we need cold Iron to pierce their hides more easily. From the same amount of Cold Iron, one can make 4 Axes or 1 sword.
The other reason is that fighting with a Bardiche, a Greataxe, a Battleaxe and throwing axes, they are kind of the same and transfer knowledge to fight with one type transfers well to another. But I digress.
She gives a chuckle.

What was your best kill so far? Mine was a Schir-Demon, I got pretty lucky and had some help though.

Ragnhild has no idea that most people dont know what a Schir Demon is. If you have been in a warzone, kids there can typically tell apart the Calibre of incoming artillery rounds, Ragnhild has grown up close to the worldwound, and Schirs are kind of the low level foot troops of the Abyss.

Zenj'ya looks over the things. He has constant detect magic. Upon seeing the estoc, he knows what he has to do.
"That. That weapon has a most terrible and powerful curse upon it. If left unchecked, it will bring grave misfortune upon this ship, and those closest to it. It is beyond my power to remove the curse in it's entirety, it is woven into the very metal of the item. However, I can bless it enough that it will be safe to drop overboard, without incurring it's wrath. At midnight exactly, I can perform a ritual to make it safe to drop. You will need to ensure that I am unobserved while I do it though, otherwise the curse could flee, and take root in the mind of anyone who watched."

Hahaha Ragnhild chuckles.

True, I probably sound like one of my grand uncles. He got captured by demons, was sold in the Abyss, but basically earned his freedom by making excellent booze. He was allowed to bring what he could carry on his back, and what do you think did he bring? Other captives? Weapons? Armors? Ragnhild pauses

Books. On or about war, from different planes, partly in languages that, on Golarion, probably nobody but him could read without magic assistance. He then went on to translate them, alongside his normal day to day business of making great booze. Obviously, the f%#~ing inquisition got wind of that and try to set him, his booze and his books on fire. Because Chelish pretending to be good are still Chelish dickwads.
There was a pretty big explosion, because look, his booze was pretty potent, and then it was raining Chelish-inquisitor-parts-on-fire for a bit, but something tells me he survived that.

Just foreshadowing possible NPCs!

As the crew forms a fighting ring, Scourge disappears into the armory. Shortly thereafter, he returns to the main deck, shoving a giant of a man (almost seven feet tall) in front of him. The tar and feathers covering the newcomer's body make him a crude imitation of an owlbear. As soon as he stumbles into the ring, Plugg barks an order. "FIGHT!"
Jacques: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Ragnhild: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Zenj'ya: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Jacques/Ragnhild: You notice that 'Owlbear' appears to be blind in his left eye.

Owlbear Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Ragnhild Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The man proceeds to charge directly towards Ragnhild. It's a simple attack, devoid of any great tactical thinking.
Athletics DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Punch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

You're up. Anyone who wants to assist with magic is free to do so, but be mindful of your casting tradition. Depending on your drawbacks, subtle casting may not be possible.

Not bad, my turn!

Ragnhild expends her martial focus (which I think she had because 1 minute of rest at some point before the fight), moves into Owlbears blind spot on his left (ideally with a 5 foot step) and strikes.
What was his athletics that he failed for do I have to do one for movement?
athletics?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
brutal strike: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20

damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 +2 on top if I had martial focus going into this how long does this last?

If I understand correctly, Owlbear is battered:
Battered (condition)

battered:

Heavy blows have left a creature with this condition vulnerable to further attacks, imposing a -2 penalty to the creature’s CMD and preventing them from taking attacks of opportunity provoked by a creature performing a combat maneuver. Some talents have different effects or activation times against battered creatures. The battered condition can be removed by taking the total defense action, or through the restore ability of the Life sphere (see Spheres of Power), the lesser restoration spell, or similar effects. When inflicting the battered condition on a target that is already battered, the rounds stack when determining duration.

He also, due to Ragnhilds
Heavy Swing (exertion)
heavy swing:

Creature damaged by your brutal strike must succeed on a Fortitude save or be staggered for 1 round plus 1 round per 4 base attack bonus. If the target is battered, it is instead staggered for 1 round on a successful save, or dazed for 1 round then staggered as normal on a failed save. If the target failed the Fortitude save, for the duration of the staggered condition, it also counts the damage from the attack as ongoing damage for the purpose of concentration checks. Creatures immune to the dazed condition are instead staggered for the round they would have been dazed.

I assmume the DC 10 +1 (Ragnhilds Bab) +1 (half of Ragnhilds class level, probably minimum of 1) + her practicioner modifier, which I dont exactly recall sadly. I am fairly certain she has one though.

Ragnhild is currently not raging and is at 9/14 hp.

Martial Focus: You're assumed to always have it unless you've expended it. Once expended, it can be regained with one minute of rest or by taking the total defense action.

Athletics: Since you've identified Owlbear's blind spot, you can avoid his attacks with a successful check. I'll be rolling for you to save time. XD

Practitioner Modifier: "A barbarian is considered a Proficient practicioner, gaining spheres and talents as appropriate. She uses Charisma as her practitioner modifier."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fortitude DC 14: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Owlbear staggers back a step as Ragnhild lands a powerful punch. He blinks dazedly for a few seconds before looking around for his opponent. He'll have a nasty bruise but doesn't seem unduly bothered.

Owlbear: 8pts nonlethal damage, battered, dazed

Female Humam Barbarian(Rage Prophet)1/Bard 1 Gestalt AC15/14/11 HP14/14 Fort:4/Ref:3/will2 Ini:3 CMD15 CMB4

Ragnhild seeks to stay in his blind spot and strikes again

brutal strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Could I theoretically combine brutal strike with combat maneuvers?

M N human fighter 1 // soul warden 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | CMB +1** CMD 15* | F +3 R +4 W +3* | Init +6 Per +2 SM +5 | channel 6/8 MF 1/1 spell pool 3/5 stamina 2/2 | effects/conditions none

I don't think the battered condition gets applied until after the brutal strike hits, so I think poor Owlbear is only staggered, not dazed. ;)

Jacques intones a threatening cry at the Owlbear. "You have not yet seen everything that Ragnhild the Brutal can do! How would you like to lose your other eye? Surrender while you still can!"

Demoralize, PMB: 1d20 ⇒ 9 I can't remember how to calculate his Psychic Maneuver Bonus, but if you remind me I'll add it to my sheet.

<<- Ragnhild is not yet raging.
Eh, I wont cripple you by blinding you fully, thats would be rude in a testfight. Ill stop at broken noses and bruised ribs in these. And no, I do not go for the balls, unless we are in a Succubus rich enviroment and I judge you as incapable of keeping it in your pants.

Ragnhild banters, laying out means of pain she would actually do.

Also, Kellid nicknames are humorous. "Brutal" eh, anyone with that nickname has small cock of male, smale t%&+ if female, and you clearly see thats not the case. Ragnhild does a short jiggle

Our tribes best warrior was called "the s@+*spear", the second best "snake in eye", after an incident with trying to load a snake in a musket and the third best was "no-pants-beatdown" you see, a Succubus charmed him, so he sought to impress her by beating up all of her demon friends, which he did, without wearing pants, using on of them as a bludgeoning weapon.

Ragnhild seems to be genuinely enjoying herself.
You have no idea how she talks, while fighting, that fast while beeing audible. Must be some bard stuff.

Kelid? Zenj'ya shakes his head. He'd have to remember to educate Ragnhild about the various Mwangi tribes later. After all, she seemed quite keen on other people learning about her tribe's history. Still, she fought well. Very well.

Jacques: Psychological Maneuvers: PSB is (BAB + CHA). PSD is (10 + BAB + WIS + CHA). If I'm reading your sheet correctly, you're PSB +4, PSD 15.

Ragnhild: As a 'special attack action,' brutal strike is its own Standard action. You can combine it with Vital Strike/Power Attack/etc, but not a combat maneuver - unless you have a talent that lets you do so. XD

Distracted by Jacques's threat, Owlbear is ill-prepared for Ragnhild's punch. This time, he grunts - it seems he's beginning to feel the hits.
Athletics DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Ranghild feels those punches
11/14 non lethal taken.
She uses her non elemental rage to get 3 TMP HP

11/14+3. Ac now 13

brutal strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Cunning of you to use your cursed dice on my atheletic rolls lel, I literally pass on a 3+ :)

She misses, wildly.

She moves away 15 feet from him (he is still battered and staggered, so that gets me round one in which he doesnt hit me right?)

Edit: Ragnhil doesnt do the movement, she would provoke, I didnt read that battered only stops AoO from CMBs.
