Uh, this is a bit of a bind. Alchemists and investigators can learn and make cure light wounds but not inflict light wounds. I take it that infusions can't be switched out for potions?

I'm in the same boat Paladins gain access to all cure spells but not inflict spells. So my wands of Cure Light Wounds can't be swapped. Unless someone else has Inflict on their list then I can swap and have them hold them.
Edit: I just looking over the Inflict wounds spells again and noticed that inquisitors can gain access to it.

![]() |

Angela's never been able to freely use wands but she has a pretty good chance of activating a wand with a +15+1d6 modifier to UMD. Which anydice is saying is a 95% chance of success.
Inquisitors get it but alchemists (and thus investigators) can't, I believe, unless Archives is wrong.

Oh my I misread inquisitor and investigator. I feel foolish

@Lancyn Pendragon: Your lay on hands will suffer as well. :-(
Wow. Unbelievable twist in this scenario!

GM Enchanter |

And now the mechanical problems with this premise start to rear their head. Since we're about to head into the ritual, I'm fine with you seeing what the effects are. See the slides. It's basically the undead Anatomy spell.
Sounds like Angela can use the wands. Yes, your Lay on Hands and cure infusions are likely useless to you in the undead form. Since there's no alchemical version of inflict, no infusion/potion swap. The moderate inflict potions should help with that somewhat. Feel free to buy more items if needed, and swap out spells if you can.
Heth has been out of touch for three weeks (some of that time was expected), but the Society isn't putting any time constraints on this mission. Your forms will last until you contact them again to return.

![]() |

I'm going to pick up an Elixir of Hiding, Elixir of Tumbling, Elixir of Vision and Elixir of Spirit Sight for use with Alchemical Allocation if needed in the future.
She also has a Wand of Cure Light Wounds she'll switch for one of Inflict.
Otherwise I think she is ready.

Yeah it will certainly. However doesn't mean I cannot use it to harm undead though :D.

![]() |

Oh, but then doing so would be Illegal! A paladin's SECOND worst nightmare. They've got you now Mr. Bon- Pendragon! Dun, dun, DUN!

Oh yes Q Angela, you are quite right indeed.

![]() |

I guess I might as well Swap out my two wands of Cure Light wounds One is a normal one the other is one with a Caster Level of 3 and Limited Charges.

![]() |

I will be traveling over the next four days and may only have limited or no access to post. Please feel free to bot me as necessary.

Ah what a perfectly horrible time for a nat 1

GM Enchanter |

Ah what a perfectly horrible time for a nat 1
Even your inspiration dice let you down!

![]() |

Bugger! I faired no better in my endeavors to shed some light on the situation.
Also in case you need the source for the trait here is the link: Chosen of Iomedae

![]() |

I am really glad the diplomacy worked! ;-)

![]() |

I'm really sorry about this but I need to take a mental health break from PbP for a while. I'm just not in the right headspace for it and I'm not enjoying. I would suggest trying to find someone to fill my spot, and maybe some point down the road, we'll meet at another table.

![]() |

Please take care of yourself!!
Thanks for the fun and all the best to you!! Contact us anytime if you wish to rejoin us!

![]() |

Yes please take care Tath. Only met for a brief moment but I understand where your coming from. Only so many spell slots in a day.
"There is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself."
Be safe in your journeys and may they bring peace to you.

Figured I would roll here and not clog up the Gameplay chat with a wall of "Paladin needs healing". Since were not in combat would it be safe to assume that Angela could take 10 on their UMD checks to use the ILW wands?
If so
ILW (CL3): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
ILW (CL3): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
No more charges boo
ILW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Well the dice gods show favor

![]() |

I think you roll such things in gameplay. ;-)
Just one question on our wands. Are they now ilw wands?

GM Enchanter |

Tath, I wish you all the best. Take care of yourself and we hope to see you in the future!
Khorshid, you got the opportunity to swap out any "cure" wands or items for equal "inflict" items. Charge for charge. Unrealistic? Too generous? Maybe. I just hate the idea that you have to go buy a whole new set of healing items or otherwise you're stuck with a bunch of your gear that will kill you if you use it.

![]() |

Thanks for your guidance GM!! :-D

![]() |

Okay. So Khorshid was cool with another pathfinder dying but I thought the others would mourn a little? ;-O

GM Enchanter |

I wondered how that might be taken too.
Everyone roll for Boons! Roll a d20, 19s and 20s win. If you win, roll a d3.
GM Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Noon : 1d20 ⇒ 3

To boon or not to boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 10

GM Enchanter |

I'll be traveling this next week, so posting may be uneven. If we get through this encounter, we may pause so I can get home to my computer to set up the next.

![]() |

Hi GM, at the end of the round they have another Will save to overcome the blindness. :-)

GM Enchanter |

Ok, I'd like some input on how you want the game to proceed. I'm very aware that this has dragged out longer than expected.
As written, the next encounter starts immediately. However, I'm willing to delay that by an undetermined number of rounds if you just want to skedaddle. Heth has told you something is coming and you see the book you came for (thanks to Angela's super perception, you auto-suceeded there). And the next fight may be brutal with just four of you and Khorshid's abilities mostly mind-affecting.
If you want to stay and fight, I'm game. I'm giving you a small window to opt out if you want. You would forfeit some of the gold rewards (because you can't search and loot everything), but I like having the choice here because there's little story point in this last fight.

![]() |

Bring it on!!! No pause!!
I’m not eager to be always winning! And I can raise a character!! :-D

![]() |

If we don't mind pausing for a little so Angela can heal like she should have before this fight that'd be awesome.

![]() |

Either way. I am fine with staying to fight and I am also fine with allowing Angela to heal.

![]() |

I am down to continue with a small pause between encounters for Angela to recover.

GM Enchanter |

Sounds like we're all agreed. Let me consider how I want to do this. I'll give you a few rounds before all hell breaks loose. You can choose to use them how you see fit.

GM Enchanter |

That was a pretty epic ending to the fight! Bear with me to recap the game details, as I'm that enamored with it right now.
On the face of it, Lancyn's attacks failed, and Golthwur was going to take the swallow damage again despite his stabilization. Even min damage would have killed him.
But a careful check revealed a real bit of teamwork in the numbers. Failing Khorshid's spell (finally!) makes the target unable to act and prone. After a dive into whether or not a worm (which is immune to being tripped) can be prone, it would seem that the spell doesn't trip you, just makes you prone. And I believe worms and snakes can be knocked flat out of position and in a more vulnerable state.
So the prone lowers its AC by 4. Combined with Angela's aid, Lancyn's roll of 3 just manages to beat the AC by 1. And of course, his smite damage is enough to kill the worm! Talk about lots of little things adding up at just the right moment! Even Golthwur's stabilization means that you don't have to worry about him dying straight away. If any one of those doesn't happen (even if Angela only provided a +2 instead of a +4 for aid), that final strike would have failed.
Whew! Congrats! Feel free to post aftermath reactions, but I will wrap this up and get your chronicles out by the end of the week.

![]() |

Oh wow!! Thanks for the detailed explanation GM!!! That’s awesome!!! Our dear Wizard lives!!!! :-D

GM Valen |

Thank you al for saving Golthwur. I would celebrate more, but my mom went into hospital last night. Her prognosis is poor.
I don't expect to check in for a few days or more

![]() |

So sorry to hear!!! :-( All the best!!!

![]() |

Getting that kind of news is never the best. I am hoping for the best for your mother and for you.
