Brother MacLaren casts Liberating Command on the grabbed man (immediate action Escape Artist check at an extra +8) and then casts Sound Burst on the creature.
1d8 ⇒ 7 sonic damage, and Fort save DC 14 or be stunned 1 round.

As our hero's move into action, Ellie joins the woman who screamed holding the line. As Ellie begins to pull, several of the other locals join her.

Walking to the edge of the banks, Tucci extends his pike and whacks the Naga on the head encouraging her to release the man as Kasin easily swims down, biting the mans shirt, causing a tug-of-war to ensue.

Seeing her plan come together, Veronica dives into the water, intent on pummeling the naga into submission.

While Mac magically aids the man and punishes the Naga.

Clearly getting her attention Selissa releases the man. Too infuriated to consider subtler tactics she bites Mac in the leg, releasing her toxins, while slapping at Kasin uselessly with her tail. The man, finding himself free, holds onto the rope for dear life and begins to scramble for the bank.

Veronica's relief as she sees the man start getting out of the water is shortlived, as the Naga takes a brutal bite out of Mac. She moves forward to help, hoping she can shake the creature of with a punch, but her strike misses its mark.

Jerking loose from the Naga Mac is not able to strike the creature.

As Tucci also fails to hit it, Kasin succeeds in rescuing the man, who being dragged onto the bank looks at the creature, smiling "Thanks Guinea Pig" patting the Capybara on the head.

Ellie calls to Veronica telling her they have succeeded,

Ellie, yeah, the harpoon is a great backup, but no one else really wanted it and so I thought you might like it. If you don’t want it though, maybe we should sell it for more ship work? What do people think?

Seeing Mac lose consciousness from the Naga's ferocious assault, Veronica is about to disengage to try and get Mac above water, but Kasin promptly comes to the rescue.

Kasin is definitely becoming an expert in rescuing people from drowning. Got to give thanks to Tucci for that.

With the threat to Mac averted, and with Ellie joining the fight, Veronica focuses on the Naga. Doing her best to cast defensively, she infuses her dagger with her cold spell and takes two stabs at the beast.

Taking the brunt of the Naga's anger, Brother Mac succumbs to his wounds and goes unconscious.

Seeing the underwater travesty, Tucci has to get Kasin's attention. Pulling the Capybara away from his fawning admirers, he sends the large rodent into the water to retrieve Mac. Diving in the river, grasping the Caydenite around the collar, Kasin is able to pull their heads above water. Mac wasn't as deep as we all supposed.

Seeing Mac go unconscious Ellie dives into the water to help.

While Veronica enchanting her blade with magic, lands a solid blow attacking the Naga.

Frustrated seeing the large rodent hall off another victim, Selissa hisses at the captain, then tries to bite Veronica while slapping her tail at Ellie. Sadly, in her frustrated condition she loses focus and both her attacks miss.

Combat is clearly over

The bloodied and bruised Naga, goes unconscious and begins to slowly drift downriver with the slow current. As the Captain and her officers climb onto the bank a cheer goes up. Though the game is forgotten, the keg is not. Several of Rickety's employees thank our hero's for being, well, heroes. After many handshakes, back pats and head pats for Kasin, And Tucci, if he's into that sort of thing. the folks eventually head on about their business.

As the captain and her officers head back to the Villa, there are even more folks interested in hearing the story of how they defeated the Naga.

He casts Lesser Restoration, healing 1d4 ⇒ 1 Con damage.
"Well, it's a start. Try again tomorrow. Maybe Sandara can help." He still sounds terrible.

"Veronica... I don't agree with sparing the beast."
He coughs a bit.
"This creature is intelligent? It can talk? But it didn't. Just attacked a man, would have killed him. Didn't air a grievance. Didn't have a reason.
Can't see why we'd leave it alive. I'd say treat it like a dangerous predator, since that is how it acted.
We might not be here to help next time.

Veronica helps Mac stand and walk as best as she can.

"You're right Mac, as far as we can tell, this thing might be feral and just won't be reasoned with. In other circumstances, I'd be completely in agreement with your assessment that we should treat her as a dangerous predator. But when I called for us to try and spare it, it wasn't because I felt the naga deserved to be spared."

She points towards the villa.

"That villa once belonged to a Sargavan noble, who was eventually forced out by the nagas of this island. Rickety supposedly has some deal with them so people and nagas can coexist peacefully here, which this one probably broke. But since killing the naga could affect the entire settlement, I think it's a matter that should be brought to Rickety himself, we shouldn't be the ones to decide her fate. I say we tie her up and bring him here, see how he wants to handle it."

She looks apologetically at the cleric. "But it was a risky decision, regardless, which might have almost cost us your life. I'm sorry."

With the little bit about the nagas before, I really thought this wasnan important plot point, and I'm sorry if that decision ended up placing Mac in danger of dying

Once Selissa goes limp, Ellie backs up. "Go, go!" she shouts underwater, kicking toward the surface. Once they're all out of the water, she watches the naga drift downriver, a trail of blood following after her. "I hope we haven't just destroyed that peace." Not that we had any choice. "Hopefully that one will remember we spared her."

* * * * *

Ellie's misgivings are soon forgotten, however-- washed away with good beer, hot food, and enthusiastic listeners. "Well I had to get that one out of the water first," she says with a grin to a small crowd of locals, rather well into her cups by then, gesturing at the man she had helped pull to safety. "Let's hope he's a better sailor than he is a swimmer!"

Finding Sandara in the inn drinking rum with several of the other crew members, she shake her head no. Setting down the rum, "I don't 'ave that there particularrr spell ready, but I will prepare it in the mornin' fer ye."

The locals, being very impressed with how Veroncia and her officers handled the Naga, listen intently to every detail of her story.

On the other side of the bar, Ellie had similar sucess, rectruiting several new crew.

Sorry if this is a little pushy

After a fun and productive late night, our intrepid pirates head to their rooms. Late the next morning after something 'Leaky' calls 'brunch' he informs the captain and her officers that Rickety has asked to see them at the Dry docks. Before they can leave Sandara catches up with them and offers Mac the spells he'd asked about. After she prays for him, the officers head towards the dry docks. With 6 points restored Mac should be @ full

As you make your way to where there working on the Man’s Promise you notice it's another uncomfortably hot day, the captain and her officers can see a cloud of birds rise from the jungle beyond the construction and fly over the dry dock. The workers there suddenly begin to run for cover, some risking serious injury as they leap to the ground below.

Elli, Veronica and Mac soon realize what appears to be a flock of “birds” is in fact a colony of giant wasps, driven from their nests deeper in the jungle by the relentless drought. The sounds of construction attracted their attention, and now they descend upon Rickety’s Squibs by the dozens. Everywhere, the settlement’s residents run for cover as the horse-sized insects dart among them, stinging and dragging those paralyzed away for food. The officers find themselves on the open ground between the huts they passed by and the dry dock itself, with three of the large insects between them and their destination.

Round 1 Bold may go.

Tucci is glad he’s missed, but saddened by the piercing pain that Kasin surely must be feeling. He tries to resist the poison flowing through his blood.

"Let's go everyone! Bring that bug down!"

Veronica does her best to hide the effects just how much of a toll the poison is taking on her, and presses on, trying to rely purely on her strength behind each attack.

Concentration DC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

But the poison is starting to impair her ability to perform the delicate motions necessary for spellcasting, and she fumbles her next spell attempt. But she manages a solid hit on the wasp, which she hopes will help bring it down before the poison leaves her paralysed.

Hoping to save her precious bullets, Ellie draws her rapier and moves in close. "Almost there!"

Inspire Courage!

With a quick thrust of his rapier, Brother MacLaren brings the Green last wasp to the ground, where Tucci quickly chops it's abdoman and Kasin mauls the thorax. Veronica smiles at Mac's clear obedience to her order, as she separates its head from its body.

Talk about over kill, good job. Ellie, save this round of inspire, you may need it here in a moment.

Having killed the wasps which were blocking their way to the dry dock, the captain and officers realize they have a straight shot towards the safety of the large building. Knowing they are still in potential danger from several wasps in the area, they hear a scream from behind them. Turning towards the west they see 'Leaky's' daughter Sara, carrying a basket of food, running towards them being harassed by two more of the giant wasps. About the same time the pirates see her, shouts of concern start to echo from the workers in the safety of the dry dock.

The purple and yellow wasp are flying near the ground, following Sara. Since it's not entirely a railroad: you at least have the option to run towards the dry dock, stay where you are and hope the girl reaches you, or move towards her and aid her. Well, I mean you can do other stuff too, but I'm not sure how that would go. Anyway, each of the choices will have consequences.

Tucci clambers onto Kasin quickly for the added speed (move still just 30’) and charges the lead wasp-creature with a charge if possible! He’ll extend his pike if need be to close the distance.
Fast mount: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 vs DC 20 (failure means its a move action)

Tucci mounts (move) and casts a cure light wounds on himself.

Remember if you need it everyone has a CMW potion that Tucci handed out on the ship.

Kasin tries once again to resist the poison as he rushes toward the enemy.
