Once out of the water, Chance makes sure his weapons are dry and oil them. He makes sure all of his gear is similarly fit for duty once more, letting it dry for the night. He watches how Scratch does it, understanding how simple his weapons are compared to the firearms, his being only sharp sticks.

He tries to get a fish for dinner telling the others jokingly “This one’s at its place, in my plate to get eaten, not the other way around!

Goldirox does not become marred by the demon bite. It seems there are some advantages to being made of stone.

The remaining demon says something.

Hey! He was our lead singer! Why did you have to go do that. Would have been better if you just whimpered and died.

It is about this time that Chance changes his tactics, digging in his backpack for a mirror. Probably wants to see how bad that last bite was. He is distracted as he claws at the remaining demon.

It bites deeply into Scratch’s shoulder, misses with the claw but that just leads to a nasty slash from the other claw. The second claw is enough to knock the dwarf down.

Xathel is about to draw another arrow when the demon mauls Scratch, leaving the dwarf lying in a pool of his own blood. The elf reaches into his sleeve, pulls out a vial, and quickly crouches to pour its contents into Scratch's mouth. As the healing potion takes effect, he says in Dwarven, "Today is not the day you meet Magrim, Steeltoe." He then draws and looses an arrow at the demon, without his usual careful aim.

Alright, going to have to rewind a little bit. Really sorry about that, was posting while at the restaurant and got distracted.

The demon steps up to Scratch, bites him, and then misses with the claw.
Think that is the fairest way to remedy this.

Chances does his tumbling through the demon and clawing.
Chance may change his position so that he is flanking with Scratch if he wants, still would have missed.

Since Scratch would have still been conscious, I am going to allow Xathel and Scratch to redo their actions. I will still apply the successful save by Scratch.
Xathel can decide if they still want to use their actions as posted. Otherwise it is as if they hadn’t posted then, including getting the healing potion back.

After tending Chance, Xathel turns his attention to the Droskar altar, to determine if the glowing symbol is merely a light source or something more worrisome.

He has the detect magic cantrip, but no feats to aid with identifying magic. (I'm still figuring out those rules, TBH.) He has Arcana +12, Occultism +10, and Nature/Religion +8.

With the medicinal herbs and medicinal fruit basket, Scratch is able to take care of most of his wounds. Xathel heals Chance while Looni heals Alseil.

As for the alter, it is clear that it is consecrated to Droskar. What isn’t as clear is what advantage a follower of that god might get from the consecration. The normal way such things are taken care of is a long ritual, which isn’t practical at the moment. Blowing it up may not end the consecration.

Xathel spent ten minutes trying to identify the magic but wasn’t able to determine anything more. While he is doing that, Looni treats Caitlin’s wounds.

Unless we are in a particular hurry (which it doesn’t feel like?), I don’t see a good reason to not heal ourselves back up to peak condition.

I’m sure that Alseil would like more healing. Sounds like the group is going to hunker down and heal.
Decide how much more healing you will do and then do it.

Amazing how times have changed. Mere decades ago Scratch would have blasted Looni on sight in the mountains. Now, he contently lets a goblin smear mud all over a bite wound. "Yer mud does have a nice smokey scent Looni, bet with a few herbs it'd make a fine bark on some smoked boar."

After their siesta Scratch checks his gear and gets back to the job at hand, keeping quiet as the group explores, poking his head around the corner for a looky.

Chance uses the water he took before to clean that filthy mud. He starts thinking it can’t be that bad otherwise I would not feel better would I.

Chance comments, avoiding being too loud in case the group was silent enough so far. “I said that people got cursed due to interaction with temple or altars, but it looks like the people that did that did not care or were protected by someone else.” He starts looking in dark corners, expecting something to jump at the Pathfinders.
